So glad someone finally included the lyrics to the second voice near the end of the song. It's a nice dichotomy seeing them side by side. Excellent job on the video!
I know everybody praises it for "symbolism" and stuff but I can't express how funny this song is to me. Between the broken English and the literally verse I've ever heard "Good to see you lying there in your superman skivvies" this song just has underlying raw shit post energy and I love it
I just realized this song is about somebody destroying his comfortable view of himself (his sweater) by destroying a small piece of it (the thread), surprisingly deep.
Yes it does. Up until about a year ago, the only Weezer song I knew was Buddy Holly. But, the video for Africa mimics the video for this song and right after that video ended this one came on. I was hooked, and every time I listen to it I enjoy it more.
my mom used to play this song in the car all the time when i was a lot younger, i don’t remember how i felt about the music, i just remember the line “if you want to destroy my sweater” being hilarious to me.
I love the creative-ness of this lyric video. Others are just words and a backround. Yours doe, yours is nice. I like how some words shatter. Some sink. Some stay, and switch letters. Some flip. Some are 3D. You have outdone yourself. Now all you have to do to make me sub, is hold this thread as I walk away...
The cool thing about the party dialogue in the intro is that he made the first "bra" text in all caps and the response was in lowercase. Then when the girls talked to him, his response was in all caps an her's was lowercase.
Weed Gilson nah when he replies to the girl who is asking for a ride, his text is in all caps. When he is responding to the guy in the first verse however, his text is lowercase, implying he is not amused. He gets excited when he has to talk to the girl
@@omardelapaz7151 Sanatarium is a great track but I feel like the atmospheric harmonics in the intro to that song and this songs dissociative arpeggios aren't really comparable.
I have bad memories to this, my dad used to play this while we were on the way to see my mom who was living with my papa bc they were divorced and I would cry so much leaving her 💔💔
I keep hearing people talk about some sort of "sweatshirt" song and I'm like... the one by Weezer? I know this isn't the song they're talking about, but I can't imagine the other sweatshirt song is anywhere near this good, so I'll just stay here. :)
I hate it when people just comment the name of the song and the band when listening to the song it's like WOW I didn't fucking know I was listening to those guys right now even though it's in the fucking TITLE OF THE FUCKING VIDEO!!!!!!
My friends Dad told me about a time when he worked at Wendys and his friend would slide across the floor, poses and all, and just scream this song at the top of his lungs.
so many understandable and artistic layers does this music have, for sure top10 more brillant amazing songs ever done ever, and maybe never will get that recognition... what a pity for those who never listened
that was a fucking amazing lyrics video my god. I'm speechless. it reads off just like the song. so well done. someone better hire the guy who owns this account for some kind of video shit, bravo
