Only inaccuracy was that Jason got fired for having suicidal outbursts after getting his girlfriend pregnant. Rivers fired him cause it was harmful to to the band. Other than that this was really good man
this reminds me of being a freshman in 2020 in quarantine and getting an option to either make a series of slideshow presentations about musicians or record yourself singing a series of songs for our Choir final. i remember not knowing which band or artist to choose since i didnt really have any decent music on my like less than 200 song playlist on spotify and just thought screw it, lets do weezer needless to say, i know a lot more about weezer and rivers than i would like to this brought back memories of learning so much from various interviews, and websites, and listening to copious amounts of the same youtube-picked weezer playlist over and over and over again glad to see people still having to make presentations about weezer for school A+
I love how excited you sound when you told us your favorite song 😭 This presentation is actually really cool tbh Edit - April 15th of 2023 - This video is actually the reason I got into weezer 🔥🔥💯
@@jonathan34219Skip to 2:32 it's somewhere in there Edit: I swear at the end he tells us his favorite song is My name is Jonas, you can hear the song play near the end 😭 he must've cut it (He confirms it doesn't play because of copyright though)
Weezer is one of the best bands of all time, their hits such as “can’t stop partyin” provide hours of intellectual discourse from their deep poetic lyrics and subject matter. Another example in “zombie bastards” they express distaste for the undead and open up a discussion of our fates after death, a subject which is notoriously difficult to discuss.
@@copper0fflames518 he has been in every single album what the hell are you talking about look at the album covers and he will be on it and look at weezerpedia and he will be marked as a current member. look at the weezer subreddit, it says hes a current member
Also Weezer came out right about the time Kurt Cobain passed away. They're not really a grunge band I know but they still have that influence that Nirvana and grunge still had a grasp on during the '90s. I also feel they are one of the last grunge influence bands left next to Foo fighters and of course Eddie Vedder and Pearl jam. That Seattle sounds still is alive in 2022. Sadly not in actual Seattle though. Also it's surprising to see the younger generation still listening to '90s bands.
Actually really well put together. Pinkerton and Blue album still the best all the way through Imo, especially Pinkerton Deluxe Edition with the live recordings of some of the songs off the album
I quoted this video and it convinced my parents that I was a big enough fan to get me Weezer tickets. I really want to thank you because this then lead me to REALLY get into their album before I went to their concert and I want you to know that my love for Weezer changed my life completely and for the better too. thank you
this is so cool! Weezer was River's dad's nickname for him, and Jason was kicked out because he kept bringing his girlfriend to band rehearsals when the four had previously agreed that no girlfriends were allowed in the studio during rehearsals.
matt sharp did not leave the band he was literally ghosted by them and they started work without him because Matt was working on his own band called The Rentals at the time, i think it was a shitty move by Weezer and have lost a lot of respect for them, Matt Sharp has taken them to court about it or something idk plus The Rentals are simply 1000x better than Weezer EVER will be, Matt Sharp was THE HEART of Weezer
I have never listened to a weezer song on purpose and probably won't get around to it after this presentation but thank you for informing me about weezer
Very good. 10/10, definitely eye catching. I like how much dedication you put into it (even though you said it was made in a hour), and I think it’s a good project 👍
