"Looking forward to the weighing video coming up!" Didn't have to wait very long for that at all. It's good to see that the issue with Lorcana pack weights may be fixed for now.
Awesome to see this experiment, thanks for doing so! I buy without hesitation anyway because I really didn't think weighing packs would prove anything, and you proved that. Thank again!
I did this with a few boxes (not at the store) and had the same results. There's no telling by weight. I had pack with a common foily Simba weighing more than anything before or since. Definitely a waste of time. Also it took 10 boxes til I pulled an enchanted from the 1st and 2nd chapter. I gave up and just started buying singles for the decks I need.
I bought 2 booster boxes. There were 5 Legendary cards in each. 2-Ursula 2- Robin Hood 1- Foil Maleficent 1- Non Foil Maleficent The other 4 were different Watching these videos on Inklands, I’ve seen lots of duplicates coming out of the same boxes. Why is something so rare seem so common and something so common (Dalmatian puppies) seem so rare? Out of the 2 boxes, I only got 2 puppies, 1- Foil Lucky, 1- regular Lucky, 1-Rolly.
What we need to see are enchanted pulls from the lighter weight packs (compared to most others) to then have data to support that weight does not matter. Enchanteds may not necessarily be in the 'heaviest' of the packs but it looks like we're only seeing the enchanted pulls from packs that are on the heavier side (~10%).
Yeah. I think with time as they add different types of cards or foils with varying weights, this will get better. Pokémon for example has regular foils, EX cards with a foil pattern, EX cards with a textured foil pattern, illustration rares with one foil pattern, full arts with like 3 different texture patterns, SIRs with different texture patterns per card, gold cards with different foiling and texture… if lorcana slowly moves that direction there will be so much opportunity for different weights in the packs that the “problem” will be solved.
Love these videos. One thing though you compared weight of the enchanted to the non foil legendary. I think it would have been more accurate to compare another foil to the enchanted by weight.
You’re 100% right… I dunno how I missed that. Just did, and the foils are still pretty consistent and about .15-.16g less than the enchanted. Thanks for the tip!
I remember seeing this guy weighing packs in public and I was really weirded out by him. But props to him I guess for having the guts to do it in public :/, because I'd be too embarrassed and I like testing my luck.
Same. The “fun cost” of opening packs is something I still don’t mind haha. I don’t sell anything so just opening stuff is fine-enchanteds are nice surprises.
I unfortunately am an idiot and don’t use a mic, just my iPhone in a point and shoot way. I’m working up the courage to swap to a traditional setup and use a mic and camera haha.
Weighing the enchanted card vs a cold foil would be the best comparison since the other cards don't have any foiling. Still shouldn't matter much though.
Awesome thanks for this. I hope everyone who weighs packs at stores feels like an idiot and wasting their one and only life trying to screw others over. GG
29:39 you comment about the promo stitch enchanted in boosters? Are they legit? I saw someone post a short saying that it is a fake product... now I'm confused 😅
They are legit, they were accidentally put in some of the set 3 booster packs. Which is not to be surprised considering all the other quality issues that they have had up to this point.
Yeah, but I dunno what can be done to fix that. I mean, the materials weigh more to make those heavy thick enchanted cards. Not much you can do really.
A lot of people have been weighing packs with the assumption that heavier packs have enchanteds, so it can be a little risky to buy loose packs. Just a little experiment!
So, you determine that weight doesn't matter but then towards the end of the video you say the rest are light packs so you don't expect to pull an enchanted...
I'm not a fan of people that weigh packs of sealed product. If they're that worried, leave it sealed and set it aside for a few decades and then sell it sealed. If someone ever came to my booth with a scale and ask if they could weigh some of my sealed product, I'd tell them no and to leave my booth and alert the other dealers nearby to them.
Yeah, I get that it’s a little standard for vintage Pokemon packs, but from a buyer perspective I would just assume anything marked unweighed means light. Hopefully in 10-15 years lorcana isn’t like that haha.
When you KNOW FOR A FACT that you can weigh 1st and 2nd set boosters, the dummy is the one not doing it, tbh. I did it for curiosity. Picked out an enchanted Aurora due to weight difference. If it works, people will do it. Blame RV. I still opened the whole box. It was a good box with decent foils, including a whole new world, which was arguably better than scamming people with non-enchanted boosters.
