Def isn't as easy and simple like that, losing weight has alot to do with your genetic makeup, so for some ppl it might be that simple and effective... and for others they might have to really go above and beyond to see the slightest of improvements

For people without diabetes, sure. But diabetes isn't just a condition for the unhealthy, it's a permanent thing some people are born with or develope over time.

So many places in the US now have food desserts where there isn’t even a single grocery store that sells produce for hours worths of drives cuz other corporations have driven them out of business in one way or another and the people there have no access to anything but processed foods. Exercise doesn't cost anything and there is no such thing as an exercise desert. At my local supermarkets, the processed foods cost more than healthy choices. Whole wheat doesn't cost any more than white bread. Brown rice is cheaper than instant white rice. If there isn't fresh produce in your local supermarket, there is frozen vegetables which are just as healthy as fresh and probably fresher. You're just making excuses for your poor food choices and food addictions. You have a substance abuse issue. And your economy is booming, employment is up and inflation is the lowest in years.

Instead of raging and fat shaming, why not get to the crux of the story and use that outraged energy against the system that is fleecing you. It's not just this drug, but all drugs. But, hey, it's the American way to be easily distract by frivolity instead of the real issues hurting them.

Price is high because it works on so many of our current major health problems, so demand is high. Price will come down a bit when they have scaled up production. Maybe 15-20%.

This is true but we also have to be realistic about success rates of dieting and exercise as interventions for obesity. Statistically this has not been a winning approach so far, if exercise and diet can be used *in combination with* a GLP-1 agonist at a higher rate of success why would we want to prevent that. It's perfectly reasonable to want people less reliant on medications that would be unnecessary if they made lifestyle changes and I'd argue the GLP-1 agonists could actually achieve this (with plummeting body fat %s, patients may be able to stop a myriad of other medications like cholesterol meds/blood pressure meds/asthma meds/etc). Reducing obesity prevalence also could dramatically reduce the money spent on health care services of which obesity (and the deleterious effects it has on the body) makes up a very sizeable % of that sum. This could also hurt the pockets of fast food chains and companies that sell ultra processed foods with low nutritional value that have been chemically formulated to be addictive. Other studies into GLP-1 agonists seem to be demonstrating a dramatic reduction in addiction behaviors (nicotine, alcohol, opiates), consider how much money we spend on those things and again the illnesses/conditions created downstream from these behaviors. I can understand a fear that we don't want to find ourselves taking pharma shortcuts to problems that can be treated in a more holistic manner but I do think this class of drugs could be a historic breakthrough and we may continue to reap benefits from embracing them for decades.

Statistically, ever since the dawn of time we have not been fat because we did not live lives of excess and stagnation. Statistically, it's about input and output. You input 5 and you output 4 you're left with 1. Mathematically, you I put 1000 and you out put 5 you're left with 995. You don't need to make excuses for people you don't know. Do this to a child and he will live a life of obesity. Take it from someone who struggles with his weight and has to go running every day or else will relapse back into staying at home and watching TV and eating. Obesity is not genetic. It's a choice. Statistically of course. Edit: to give you context, ozempic is a drug initially used to treat type 2 diabetes. A syndrome of diseases cause by life style choices. It isn't a diet pill. Look up it's effects on thyroid c cell tumors and related research.
