My sister suggested using a straw when you’re drinking water will help you drink more. It’s helped me a lot using this trick

Hi Carla, congratulations on your weight loss. I lost 45 lbs by portion control, walking and using a mini trampoline. I have managed to maintain my new weight since.

Hi Carla! I've just started watching your channel. Love it! Your such an inspiration to me! Congratulations on your weight loss and having a baby! I'm from USA but I'm part Irish! My great grandparents came here from Ireland! I love your tips about adding less rice and mixing cauliflower rice to bulk up your plate! Thank you so much for sharing!

thanks for another great info video! esp love that you mentioned the something reflective! i leave early for work, just before sunup, and often see walkers and joggers on my way thru neighborhood-can't tell you how many are wearing dark colors and no reflective items and you don't see them until you are almost upon them! i have an adjustable slip on armband that is all reflective and it helps so much. even a small reflective stripe on a jacket, hat or shoe helps. i applaud your determination that gets you out there even in the not good weather to do your walk!! working on that!

I was wondering why coriander was polarizing and googled and saw it is cilantro. Yes, very true. Learning new names for arugula, zucchini and a few others.

Hi Carla, is there a way you could add the links to your recommended products on Amazon and in the RU-vid video notes? I am specifically looking for your weight scale you recommended in this video. Love your videos, so thank you for adding links and more info on what you would recommend, it helps your followers. Thanks again…

Learned sth new omg i rly wanna invest in measuring cups!! Have issues with tracking liquids properly since awhile. Also never thought about measuring my actual body, I'm a bit scared abt this but maybe it helps to see the change over time a little better! I still feel so obese even though my BMI improved a lot in the past 20 months. I'm very slowly losing weight so looking into mirror or scale doesn't properly help me to feel successful with what i do even though I'm halfway through the journey. Lost 77 lbs so far but feel as if I'm still the same weight like before ;w;

Congratulations on showing up for yourself! I've been watching all of your videos. I'm nursing a broken ankle right now but once the boot comes off, the plan is to start walking. I can't do high impact exercise for awhile bc of the injury. Questions for you - did you walk only once a day for an hour? Or did you walk 30 min twice a day? And did you choose hilly walks to increase your heart rate or how did you know you were hitting your cardio goals?
@HalfofCarla
@HalfofCarla 2 года назад
Thank you! I did one continuous hour everyday, breaking it up isn’t as impactful. After i jury I started slow with 15 mins then adding 5 mins each week till I reached an hour. I then would add to that route everytime I achieved it within the hour. That’s how I knew I was reaching my goals. I also had a Fitbit which helped 🖤

Did you know that you can take your NIKE shoes to the store and ask for them to be replaced for free if they are worn out or damaged before the warranty date? It's listed on the inside of your shoe. If the store no longer carries that shoe, they are required to give you a gift card.

Hi Carla, what kind of caloric deficit did you aim for each day?
@sinead999

Thanks Carla, how often did you weigh yourself?
@HalfofCarla
@HalfofCarla 3 года назад
At the start I weighed myself only once a week, and I’d really recommend that approach at the start. Then I started to weigh myself more frequently when I got about half way to my goal, ending up as daily. But I had really changed my relationship with the scales by then so I saw it as purely data. I was far too emotionally involved with the number on the scales at the start to weigh myself daily 🖤

I didn’t Melinda. Ensure you keep doing what you’re doing and the result will eventually take care of itself, it’s when we change we derail our progress. Xx

I was thinking what my essentials are for weight loss. Definately No.1,2&3 is me. I have to be in the right frame of mind to start a weight loss venture, I have to be determined, fired up and strict with myself. I did a keto diet for 4 months years ago and I think that was the biggest help for cravings and addictions, I have food addictions, so I've identified my trigger foods. I'm like an alcoholic, I've realised, in that I can't eat even one thing or I will eat the lot in short order, so when I start a weightloss venture I have to be very strict, I have to say an infatic NO to myself when I'm in the shops. NO! you can't have a treat , you can't buy that. Harder at work, they put so much crap food in the staff room. Having said all that, I've noticed I find it a lot easier if I do slip, to get straight back on track with no craving triggers, I think that's due to the keto diet and I've consistently reduced my bread consumption and high carb foods dramatically for years. I imagine a lot of sugar bugs died, so the noise in my head begging me to eat cake has reduced to a niggling nag 😀. I saw a woman's youtube channel and she explained the benefits and ease of concept about calories, you can eat huge plates of food if you fill the plate with veg, apart from nuts and maybe avacado. So I've also reduced the portion of cheese and meat. I guestimate my calories for 1500, I understand people under estimate their calories by 20%, so I think guestimating 1500 ensures I don't eat more than 2000. I would know better how many calories I'm actually eating if I weighed everything, but I think it would annoy me and put me off the diet effort. I have though started to create my own spreadsheet with general stuff I eat and how many calories per serve I can see now why you hated walking so much. I'm amazed you would walk at all with slipped discs, a little scary as well. I'm working towards my second goal of 84kg, only a 2kg goal set this time and I gave myself a month to get rid. I'm half way there. I'm referring back to the half way brick wall you mentioned, I got stuck way before that, but I plodded on and over time it turned out I was still on track, still losing. The half way point would be 70kg and I'm 85kg, I got stuck at 87kg, just 3kg in! Lately I've been giving myself a kick up the rear when I get stuck and that seems to help me move again. I should do a video on this, this is a long post LOL Thanks for the inspiration, I take it where I can find it. Well done to you on your journey and eveyone else here who have shed many pounds in weight. Congrats to you all, I wish to join you as soon as I can 😀
