I saw a post on Facebook and thought it would be a fun art project. You take a picture of Abbi's profile (like a silhouette). Cut it out, tape it to the board (or whatever you want) and have Abbi paint over top of it. When she's done, you can take the cut out off and you have a neat painting.

It was actually kinda cool to see that Isaiah is a typical teen, giving you a little grief, because he is such a great kid, going to be an awesome husband and father just like has been modeled for him.

You guys are absolutely amazing. My husband and I went through the weight loss surgery thing as well, I was first & even though it was an adjustment, it really did make us stronger. He was also very supportive and a few years later, when he decided that he wanted to pursue surgery, I was able to return that support. So happy for you guys! Love watching your vlogs!😊💖🙌🏻

Your relationship is amazing and you are so lucky to have Asa and your kids! My son is 15 and has ADHD and anger defiance and he have trying times like Abbie does. Hes quick to anger and destroy things. We have been working with an awesome CSW that takes him out and talks with him. She has been a blessing to us! Also, I have been looking into the gastric surgery but I don't have insurance. Ugh so it's not something that I can do right away. Seeing your vlogs about the surgery and the steps leading up to the surgery has put me at ease with everything that I'll have to deal with if I can get the surgery done. I love how you support each other. I have finished my weight loss journey so I am now in maintenance mode forever. Looking back I can see where my husband supported me unconditionally and that is the main reason why I was successful in meeting my goals. I’m sure he was sneaking out to eat burgers and pie but I never saw anything that would enable me to sabotage myself. The journey was harder than anything else I have done in life and you need to realize that sticking with it is a superpower.

I’m always 4 years out of gastric bypass and I maintained my weight loss. Best thing I ever did for myself.

I have been following you guys for a few months and I have to say I wish I had the the family closeness and rhe love you show to each other. Priscilla darling you are my hero I have a been dealing with weight issues all my life and now have to make some major changes and my doctor has brought up surgery and I am now resurching it out I hope my family is as supportive as yours has been. Secondly Asa you are a true blessing to not only show people how to be a true man but how to be a good husband and father. I know that God must be in your lives strong because you have shown great love and compassion.

You guys are amazing 💗 I'm very lucky to have an incredible close family network too, my brother was diagnosed with autism at age 3 back in 1994. I'm so happy that there is so much awareness of autism, knowledge and facilities for families to access. I totally understand what you mean about being the "hero". We each have our share of helping one another out :). I will often go and hang out with my bro, not only to catch up with him but also to give my folks piece of mind so they can enjoy a night out together etc.

It takes a long time to recover from adomnal surgery, I say this from experience.

Supporting her is such a huge thing. I had the surgery almost 20 years ago and I did struggle as I think everyone does. When I lost all my weight and was actually to thin the support my husband gave me then was so important since I was hearing a lot of negative things about how thin I had gotten. My hair was falling out and I was a mess. Thankfully it was a phase and as all phases do it passed. But it was nice to know that on the days I need to cry and complain he listened and I’m sure there were times he didn’t want to. 😀 I know Pricilla will do amazing with the support you show her..

I think the “hero complex” happens with many guys-but all too often, when it doesn’t all work out, and they can’t save the day, they get frustrated, defeated and feel inadequate-which can lead to marriage problems. The “hero complex” is also extremely common in guys that have served-saving the day and being a hero is something they are taught to do too. Their lives, and their buddies, depend on it. Although my husband didn’t serve, I think the hero complex was a huge factor in the demise of our marriage-my husband couldn’t “fix” me and my health problems-so he decided it was all too hard. You have an absolutely beautiful relationship-keep doing what you are doing-ur doing an awesome job!! It’s obvious you guys have something special-keep a hold of it for dear life!!

I am a speech language pathologist in California, and have a nonverbal nephew with multiple disabilities and challenges, who I love more than life. Being his Auntie is the greatest gift in the world. I had my RNY gastric bypass 14 months ago and have currently lost 211 lbs overall, and my husband has tried sabotaging me since day 1 (literally from the moment I woke up out of surgery lol), and makes me feel so guilty for wanting to LIVE now. I spent my whole life a prisoner in my body and my home and now I want to get out and do things. I even just got my very first JOB (I'm 44 years old lol), and am trying so hard to make up for all the lost time I've wasted from my previous poor health, but I can't ever fully enjoy this new and improved version of me because I always have him in the background making me feel bad about it. You are so blessed girl... and I am seriously so happy for you for doing this for your family but mainly for yourself. In a year from now you wont even recognise yourself. It's going to be such a wonderful and beautiful journey! Take it all in and enjoy every moment. Even though I don't have the support from my husband, my kids and my mom are my biggest supporters and I am so grateful to at least have that

I am a mom of a 7 year old and 8 year old. I'm raising them on my own and I work full time cleaning houses and also go to school two days a week. I have days to where I have zero patience left and feel that I literally have NOTHING left in my body to give. My kids fight 24/7 and it is taking all I have to make it through each day. What are some things you and Priscilla do to help with stress and patience when you get overwhelmed with your kids? I am open to any advice! I love your family and think you all work so well together!

Hey Maass family! I just discovered your channel about a month ago. I've been bingeing your videos to get all caught up. I have a two year old daughter who we suspect had autism. Her evaluation is in June. I'm having a really hard time with her in the meantime tho. It's so hard to take her anywhere. It results in multiple meltdowns every time. She hates being out and hates other people. It's scary because she bands her head on anything she can find when she's upset. I just wanted to say that I'm glad I found you and the amazing community you have helped build.
