Good for you!!! 🎉 I keep weight on or gain weight if I don’t eat enough, which is always, but I started a program I did back in 2015 where I lost about 36lbs in 3 months so I just put in a shopping order for the foods I’ll be eating. My daughter is doing it with me and paying for most of the food since I can’t afford it. We ordered a scale off Amazon that links to our phones so we will be able to keep track of weight, fat, BMI, etc.
Slow and steady wins the race. You are losing almost 2 pds per wk which IS the recommended healthy weight loss. You are knowing yourself ! That is a wonderful thing I dont like most pie crusts. So if i eatnpumpkin pie filling i count it as healthy! Stay sweet .stay strong. Keep pushing on❤
At her weight though, I think 2 pounds is better. She might get frustrated and give up because she’s not SEEING the results as fast. I haven’t done the math on what she should weigh (I don’t know her height) but at this rate it would take 2-3 years to take off all the weight. And in the past she has given up after so many months. I hope she doesn’t this time. I’m aiming for 2 pounds a week and I have 25 pounds to lose.
I'm so happy for you! You're doing so well! Congratulations! I lost 5 lbs. in August. I was doing OMAD, but I'm eating 2 meals since my sister-in-law came to live with us. My goal is to lose 5 lbs. in September. I'll be close to one of my doctor's goal for me. Another doctor suggested another 20 lbs. I think that would be a good weight for me. Hope I can keep it up. I think you're on a wise weight loss journey. It may take longer to lose, but it'll be sustainable. Love to all, Linda 💕
@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom Thank you! I hope to start exercising soon. That is when I can find places in my house for all the stuff that's come in, lol.
I eat within an 8 - 9 hour window, I could not handle OMAD. do you prepare something low calorie to eat "in case of emergency" like a boiled egg or something?
I do omad but I find that for me it is best to wait until dinner time to eat. I am also a volume eater and some people might think I am eating too much by looking. i have the support of my husband but we do travel a all the time and some cruises or tours offer meals only at designated times so it is a little more difficult. I had to get the mindset that I just do not care what others think. I do what makes me feel the best and do not mind going to a restaurant with my husband of friends and just keep them company. if this makes them feel uncomfortable then I am sorry..
If you're having gastric issues for any reason talk to a doctor. You shouldn't have any issues from a reasonable period having an empty stomach. Most of us wake up with an empty stomach after all.
@@christines2787 I am not and have never had gastric issues. I am not doing OMAD .I am not overweight , dont need to lose. In fact most of my life I was underweight. Now II am a good weight. I was just asking out of curiosity. If I miss a meal I can feel my stomach rumbling. Maybe because I am a small eater , I dont think my stomach could take long hours without any food. I have fasted during the day for religious reasons but never more than 8 hours. Even then my stomach rumbles. So am just curious , LOL . Btw I eat dinner early, about 7 PM and have breakfast at 6.30am. That is fine. But I think during the day it is different. I will feel the emptiness If I go without for too long. But I am also not capable of eating too much at one time. Small portions suit me better.
@nesadcruz7840 - yep. Everyone is different. Until a few years ago I was 20 or 30 overweight. I had gone from am active job to a desk job at age 22 and since I love to cook I gained some weight. For me, I eat once or twice a day. But yeah, I thought you were referring to heartburn or the runs or possibly something like what happened to my informally adopted son. He came to us on his 18th birthday. Parents, only 35, had thrown him out with 6 months before his graduation and entry to the USMC. He got sick with regular meals. Massive stomach pain when offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had to work wirh a doctor to slowly ramp up his weight. Was very close to not being able to go to boot camp... this was 2019.
@nesadcruz7840 - he is, thank you! He's small. Still fights low body weight. But he's strong and healthy and doing well. We don't see him often because he's stationed far away but we are in regular contact
Oh my gosh, Dawn you’re doing wonderfully, congratulations! I couldn’t do one meal a day because I wake up fairly hungry and I don’t wanna have my one meal in the morning. But I probably could do two meals because I don’t usually eat a big dinner. I usually just have my biggest meal at lunch. But I’m super happy for you.
Great news!! I really appreciate you for sharing your weight loss journey! What type of exercise videos are you doing? Do they work you out good? I love your channel! I would love us to be neighbors!! You remind me of my own family!!
I do 2 meals a day. But honestly, I only eat if I’m hungry. So today I only ate once. Over time Dawn, you’ll know what foods has how many carbs and calories per serving. So you don’t have to track those calories because you’ll already know. And I’m working on 2 pounds a week to lose. Cutting out the sweets. And I’m good with that. Sweets just cause inflammation pain so it’s easy to give it up. You got this Dawn. 👍🏻
Congratulations, it’s not easy. Good for you. 🎉. My husband and I are doing omad. Definitely makes you plan meals better, since when you get to dinner anything and everything looks good.
Congratulations! Slow and steady, while feeling satisfied, is a recipe for success. Can't wait to hear your October 1 update and am cheering you on, from afar! You GOT this!!!!!
The "lazy way out" is working well for you. Congrats & thanks for sharing you plan. I hope it continues to work for the long haul. It sounds like a sensible plan that might very well last :-)
That is wonderful News!! Dawn....I've never tried that. But what I have tried has been fasting like u have done n I have been successful and I have not deprived myself of anything....I actually ear whatever I want to eat. I have added some broccoli to my eating habits and it has worked wonders...Congrats on losing what u have lost and I always say it is a Marathon not a sprint....😊😊😊
I just found you today, which is a day I'm totally depressed, frustrated and giving UP on weight loss! It's been insidious since menopause started at 48. Now, im 74!! I weighed 105 lbs for YEARS, now I've gotten up to 134. Now I'm only barely five feet tall, so every, single pound SHOWS. I've tried low carb, low-fat, and just the last two weeks went back to calorie counting... NOTHING! THE SCALE WON'T BUDGE. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE WAY I LOOK...SO SCHLUMPY!! I eat my feelings. I'm SO depressed with it that i had chocolate, wine AND a large piece of cake today. Plus, my white roots coming every two weeks and thinning hair. Ugh...sorry for the rant. I just HATE myself today. 😭😩😡
Congrats, wow! Perhaps an addition to the weight loss video 1x month could be an observation, difference, benefit etc. as a result of the weight loss. I'm a sugar addict & tend to hit bottom to make a change. Well here I am and all obvious sugars are out (still use bottled salad dressing etc), I eat protein at most meals and plenty of real, whole foods and lately a big salad for one of my meals. Doing it for my health, weight loss over time, and to support mental health as well. Good to feed the gut biome well too...
Dawn, you are doing fantastic! Just keep up the good work! Don't forget to stay hydrated!🤗🌹❤️ I'm still on my one meal a day too! I haven't done OMAD! My ortho and nutritionist put me on the Harvard School way of eating! I'm just so full after one meal, fruits, salads, liquids, and vegetables that the day is over! I'm losing weight that I had not planned on, but I love it! No more hip pain! Just keep moving! I'm so proud of you!! Keep going! Happy Labor Day! 👏👏👏👏😁
P.S. BUT...how are you not starving all day?! I get low blood sugar, though I'm NOT diabetic, thank God. I'd like to try it, but, gosh...I don't know. 🤔👍
Congratulations, Dawn! If you are happy with your progress, that’s what counts. I have started to incorporate more fibre in my diet. Very filling with low calories. I am referring to beans, lentils, etc. and water, water, water!!! See you next time!
I know people look at us sideways when we say calorie counting is not for us and is not long term sustainable. But it's so true! Now I could never do OMAD and I'm a semi volume eater but I can also do well with small portions of really high calorie food. For me, it's 6 meal periods a day (3 main meals, 3 snacks), tracking how many cups of food I eat per day and basic calorie density like trying to make lower calorie meals but not actually tracking calories day to day because that would drive me crazy. So not sure how many calories a day I'm eating, but I don't care haha Because so far I've lost 17.6 pounds... so yay to both of us!
Congratulations, Dawn! You are looking wonderful, and I would guess you feel better everyday! I am so happy for you and will pray for you tonight. God bless you, friend! Thank you for sharing 💖
