The weighted average cost of capital (WACC) is the rate that a company is expected to pay on average to all its security holders to finance its assets. The WACC is commonly referred to as the firm's cost of capital. Importantly, it is dictated by the external market and not by management.

Thank you so much for this helpful content. But I have a humble request. Kindly shade more light on the calculation of Kd. Did you forget to multiply 2.4 with [1 - 0.3] = (2.4 x 0.7) = 1.68 or you made a deliberation to leave it out

Mwalimu: Since you used Market Values, Retained Earnings should have been ignored in Calculation of WACC. Kindly clarify. 21:32

In calculating Kd, why didn't you substract the tax rate of 30%. kd=[I(1-T)/M.V]*100
