Shan speaks on his fascinating journey from a young boy growing up during the Chinese Cultural Revolution to his ascent to Chairman & CEO of private equity firm PAG, where today he oversees $30 billion in assets. Sent to dig ditches as a farm labor in the Gobi desert at age 15 and denied schooling for 10 years, he ultimately earned a scholarship to study in the US where he went on to earn an MA, MBA and PhD.
