I'm a little late to this video, but after watching another RU-vidr ranking Weird Al, I was curious how other people viewed Yankovic's work. Honestly, I'm astounded how similar our favorites are. Polka party is very underrated

I had a compilation disc, and then I listened to the Al in a box set that had 40 songs on it, so I never really recognized the songs belonging to albums. Great list! I really like Mandatory fun since I didn't even know it was coming out, and then the day after it did I bought the CD of it. Two years later I got to see him live and that was my first concert. Weird Al, the ultimate prog artist.

It's amazing how many songs you thought were great, I didn't care for and how many songs I love you didn't. And for the record, Melanie is the most beautiful song ever written.

“Got My Mind Set On You” was covered by George Harrison, originally it was a James Ray song from the early 60’s.

Tiffany’s I think we’re alone now is a cover originally by Tommy James and the Shondells the same band that also originally did Mony Mony , leader, covered by Billy Idol.

Good video, I liked your ranking system 👍 We seem to have been of similar age at the time of most intense Al exposure. As a kid, I didn't appreciate Poodle Hat as much, but I think it's because it came off the heels of the banger that was Running with Scissors and it didn't have any big music videos. I also had not heard Frank Zappa yet, so Genius in France was my least favorite song on the album, lol. I of course like it better now, but maybe I should give the whole album a run-through and see how I feel. Hardware Store was always a highlight.

My favorite is still Running With Scissors it's just the best. Followed by Bad Hair Day and maybe Alpocholypse

You know what... This really makes me wonder where They Might Giants might fall in this method. I like this new format! I loved Alpocalypse though. Trapped in the drive through was a masterpiece... I love Al's epics

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but "My Bologna" is actually a parody of "My Sharona" not "My Corona".

I remain the only Weird Al fan to actually like Polka Party album. Don't Wear Those Shoes is also one of my favourite songs I discovered in all of my listen-throughs of all the albums 😬

Girls Just Wanna Have Lunch was a record he was forced to make and thus was pretty much made out of spite I think

Before watching, I'm going to predict that Girls Just Wanna Have Lunch is the worst song. To be fair to Al, he didn't even want to write that one, but the record label wanted a Cyndi Lauper parody.
