@@brunofmc That's because the remaster is literally based on the flawed mobile port of the game and on top of that it adds a pack of its own issues, too.
Max's nosebleed, "Life Is Dark" and the glowing hair all seem like technical issues and not design choices they made on purpose. The remastered was super broken after all. When it comes to the "no smiling" photo, it's one thing to change the expression if it's necessary, but in this case it's like they weren't even listening to the audio when changing it (maybe they had people just work on the animation itself without the audio, and those people had never played the game or heard the audio). As for Juliet's makeup, it's weird but it kinda makes sense. As someone else pointed out, she had just arrived. The camera spitting glass is definitely really strange (hah, I get it now). The book and the room decor itself, as well as Chloe's hair are definitely strange. There's no clear or necessary reason for those changes. Rose's eyes are just... creepy.
There's almost no way the nosebleed could be a technical glitch, unless it's supposed to progress throughout the scene/scenes. (I've not played the game.) Under normal circumstances showing a book is not in any way a violation of copyright. The cover designer or publisher could raise a stink about how the cover itself is copyrighted, if it was - in fact, not designed specifically by the Life is Strange team, but this would be needlessly aggressive since covers are meant to be seen, and there are fair use exceptions for realism, so unless they already got in trouble for it the first time, changing it to avoid "copyright" now would be very silly. Another explanation would be brand integrity. People don't realize that all the ads in GTA games are jokes because litigious brands are wary about being associated with the kind of criminality on display. So I guess the copyright explanation holds up if the girl holding the book is like a serial killer... lol. Laziness is actually a far better explanation. Presumably the remaster is changing the resolution? If the original book texture exposes imperfections in this higher resolution, and you have to remake it, it's undeniably easier to "remake" it as a simple generic book than to do an in-depth pixel perfect re-skin, especially if you've assumed the actual book she's holding doesn't matter. Which... given how much it sticks out seems like quite an assumption, but I digress.
@@giovannimoreiraverga2121 my guess is they must've had a reason for remastering LIS and BTS. I'm thinking that they must be thinking of a new LIS game based on the comics. So could we possibly see Max and Chloe back in the LIS universe
Everybody's talking about Rachel's book changing at 0:19 but nobody's talking about the sunlight still being present on the bed and curtains despite the window suddenly turning to NIGHTTIME.
Surprisingly often, actually. It seems like low budget projects have to focus on good stories and gameplay instead of putting all money on graphics, merchandise, ads and so on. That's why indi games often have a lot more depth to them than many AAA games.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if it removed due to some culture inappropriacies… remember that this game released before everyone got overly sensitive about everything.
@@R0B690 When I played it a second time, and a third time after playing the OG, I said to myself, "What the hell did they do to Rose, she's just staring into my soul!" 😂
thanks for still making these ! there is so much wrong with the remastered, but I still appreciate the facial expressions effort, and some of the faces do look better. It's just sad that the lighting however kind of ...screws it up in a lot of places. The OG is good for what it is, Remaster has its moments...but its really not perfect.
The remaster still needs work, I admit it, I'm not going to call myself a game critic though. The remaster LIS I have a issue where the game music cuts off in the final cutscenes and the OG never does. The remastered BTS has an issue where the final cutscenes have a static type glitch, and the final cutscenes acted like a broken VHS tape. The OG never did that. I love what they did with remastered, but I admit they still have a lot of issues to fix.
@@AL-hk3oo that I didn’t notice honestly, thanks for bringing it up. Have you also had an issue where the final cutscenes in BTS ReMastered act like a broken VHS tape? I’m just curious that’s all, because it’s happened to me every time I played the game
I'll give you a hint, it's green and it's dishes out to them for how many people but the remastered collection, I pre-ordered the ultimate edition of True Colors so I wouldn't have to buy the Remastered Collection, I would have it
Here I thought “man, wish I would’ve known a remastered version would’ve been made”. Sometimes things are just greatest the way they are in the beginning.
I'm so curious about the history and BTS of the remake. It looks significantly less fleshed out than the original. The darker lit remastered cutscenes are illegible with how poor the light/shadows are. What a shame.
There is some good of the remaster, like the show of emotions, but for what it's worth - the original was never bad, for 2015 - it wasn't even aged. The last scene, with Max looking at us - the original has way more believable shading and color and the eyes are realistic. I love Life Is Strange
even if it looks aged, the original game has such a unique and distinct visual style. I would never want a full HD remaster to make it look like an unreal engine tech demo or something.
For some reason when it comes to next gen remasters, there always appears to be extra glass; that Polaroid camera smashing just reminds me that when you shoot glass in GTA V New Gen; it comes with tons of extra glass for some reason. 🤣🤣🤣 Regardless, I have been thinking of doing Life Is Strange Let's Plays and this video pretty much confirms that I should use the original game, not the remaster. 💜☺️
Why did they change Rachels book? Why did they get rid of Chloes blue strand of hair? Why doesnt she have her costume make-up? Why did they change these things, that makes no sense o_o
Some of these, mainly the one with the mother, don't make much sense being included in this video... ...but most are pointless changes. They either make no difference at all or actively make things worse. The camera spitting, the excessive extra blood on Maxine's nose, the more serious book cover, MAXINE SMILING _when she literally just said to herself not to smile._ The whole remaster was kind of a mess to begin with, but I didn't know about these dumb changes.
Even with the small weird changes and issues, some of the major scenes have great improvements in animation. It's like they tried very hard on the big moments, and then just phoned in the rest of the games.
Some parts of the remaster do look better, and the faces are generally more expressive from what I've seen, but it's kind of insulting that the "remaster" looks worse in some cases, costs more than the original games, and is not even discounted for people who bought the originals.
The originals are way better. While the new version improved on some animations, they messed up character designs, the lighting, and some animations. People keep bragging that the game added more animations, but they took some away too unless that's been patched. Max looks weird at times, Rachel looks way older than she should be, Rose and Joyce look awful, Kate looks really strange on the roof scene, and they didn't even try with most side characters at Blackwell. When they did, they look weird. The only character they gave the most effort on was Chloe and even they messed her up. Nathan and Victoria are a close second.
Honestly I think they were trying to make Kate look so sad and depressed and they made her eyes red from crying so much, that's my guess of what they were going for
When I played the first remaster I remember thinking "they really messed this up but this is the team that made before the storm so at least that should be an improvement". But no. Just no.
I really wanted to love the remaster because so many characters look amazing. But so much was changed in a bad way. The weird camera glass, the flag in Chloes room not blowing with the wind, trees not being affected by the wind, too much contrast, washed out colors, and many more are bad changes that take away from the original. And then don't get me started about the bugs and glitches. They're still in the game... a little more than 1 year since release and quite a few are still in the game. For me, music is not playing properly or at all, especially at the ending cutscenes for each episode. Speaking of, the cutscenes look very pixelated and blurry and it just doesn't look good. The remaster can look absolutely stunning at times, particularly during the sunset scenes throughout each episode. It's just sad how the game was delayed by a few months for more tlc and even then it wasn't enough time. I feel like it was easier to remaster Before the Storm. It was much more glitchy compared to season 1 but I think the graphics already held up nicely and the remaster gave it a nice extra push. Both games are in a much better state now compared to launch.. but I don't know.. I can't help but still feel disappointed, especially with season 1.
I still like the original more, but im gonna play the remaster before the new game because I bought them with True Colors and the facial animation is supposed to be good. It looks good in some scenes. The hair really annoys me though because they had almost no reasons to change it
Somehow, all the changes they make to the models and such (excluding Rachel's face. That's the only real improvement) make them look MORE fake than before? They somehow, in attempt to make them more lifelike, make them less lifelike. The original still seems like a PERSON but trying and failing to make something realistic ends up just entering uncanny valley territory and they just look more like dolls
The original is better on some parts Like the camera dropping 0:14 Glass looks waaaaay too animated on the remastered However the remaster did gave the game more color and depth in some of the characters features and environments
I feel like the remaster was rushed. Some of these are really stupid mistakes, like tweaks in lighting and stuff. Also it's very buggy. The facial expressions in the remaster are an insane improvement though
Why are half these dont look like the original game coz i have the original and it dosnt have chloe with blonde hair or the part with Rachel or the part with the play
Because they thought they were needed apparently. Also the nosebleed I get because we needed to see the effect Max's power was having on her. What makes me giggle a little bit is that Max said "dont smile, take your new powers seriously" and the remaster you can see her smiling 😁
@@mattint0shI get the nosebleed but couldn't they make it smear more but still be as seen instead of just making it look like it was barely touched by Max?
