The tomato guy selling tomato sauce reminds me of how children's films with talking animals will treat farm animals. I guess the creators expect the audience to just not think too hard about the world-building 🤔🤷

haha, it's definitely a kids book so I'd love to get some children's perspectives on it to see if they are unphased or as equally creeped out as me

It wasn't that bad in this case, but honestly, if I'd known in advance I might not have picked it up. Finishing a chapter is my favourite feeling :D
