Yep!! This synth is the BEST!!! I have one as well, and though I'm a guitar person, it's one of my fave things EVER! Thanks so much for this video--and the rad tuneage!!
I am absolutely livid. The lines at 7:25 remind me of a song I used to listen to in middle school, and I’ve been up for 2 hours just trying to find this god forsaken song. Curse you, Andrew, I will never find this song again and I will forever be tormented by it’s tune.
I'm gonna compare the songs at the end of these weird gear episodes to different artists. So last month was Death Grips and this month is Radiohead post Kid A
Great Song Andrew, love your Weird gear segments and as someone mentioned, since you’re not on a schedule, your videos are even better than before!!! Love the one in Berlin, that was great, and to see how you put together Weird Gear - stinger/bug. Was really fun!!!! You are so much fun to watch, love your energy, just have one cup of Java a day!
If I'm completely honest, I love messing with synthesizers that I'm not familiar with. The strangeness of walking through the dark, the feeling of not knowing what that knob or output does, for some reason that gets the best kinds of music out of me.
Really nice tune there! We've got the Mescaline and the Resonant Garden. The Garden is pretty cool, its mostly built on some crazy FX modules. Only drawback, sometimes in the middle of performing a piece, the FX types change unpredictably. Don't count on having the same cool sound you started with.
Hey Andrew ! An electronics student here. You can make filters with a resistor and a capacitor mounted in series diodes can make distortion etc and etc
the sound of it reminds me of mason lindroth. he made a game called hylics and the whole thing is basically a huge experiment. i suggest listening to the music, its super weird and soothing.
Just had to say amazing vid as always. Interesting idea: You should totally do real-time video of you learning and experimenting with the weird gear for the first time, just so we can fully watch how you go from background research (like you did for the Rythm King) to "1st patch"--or whatever the gear presents.
I really wanted to hear some horror haunted sounds in the song, like in the very start of the video Anyway i really liked your harmonization, good job!
Wish all this equipment wasn't so expensive. Looks like a ton of fun to learn and build sound and music with the gear you keep showing us. The pocket device was probably my favorite. Maybe I will start there. How much training or experience/background did you have with music before you started this journey of sound engineering?
I admittedly have absolutely no idea what's going on. I have a general grasp on music production, but synthesizers are just over my head. And THIS? This is rocket surgery to me, but it is nonetheless incredibly interesting. Thanks, Andrew!
