The drawing you did at 1:17 is wrong! That's not how you hold that instrument. The instrument is a dobro, or more specifically, a SQUARE NECK dobro. This means it's played like a lap steel guitar, not like a normal guitar, also a the only way to play it is with a slide!
Yes. It has to be a round neck to play it like a normal guitar. Plus, on a lap steel, the action is higher than the empire state building so you need to play with a slide.

I have a MIDI guitar that is also just a regular guitar with normal pickups that you can plug in to a normal amp. I won't mention a brand though as i'm just making a point they exist and not trying to shill a product. :p
