I grew up in the valley until I was 15 years old, when my dad moved the family to Oregon. My two older sibling moved back to the valley within a year or so. I never did. Sometimes, I wish I had. I would have loved to have been part of the canyon scene.

did that much that was 'shocking" happen in LC? You show Polanski, but the Mansons didn't come to the canyon. I'm a culture journalist, and we lived in the Cyn (Ridpath, Kirkwood) for 25 years. i do miss living there, and of course we all love the Cass-Croz-Joni-Graham Nash- Eric-Doors-Carol King groove. what's shocking now are the rental / mortgage prices, and the fire risk. it's a disaster waiting to happen...
Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate lived in Benedict Canyon. At that time, I believe, the Manson Family were mostly living at the Spahn Ranch out on Topanga Canyon Blvd (but miles north of Topanga Canyon).
