For my BDay in July, I had a Brood War LAN party with my 4 brothers. We haven't played SC1 in well over a decade, it was chaos. Definitely inspired from my enjoyment of watching Falcon Paladin's videos :D
I. Feedback does the same amount of damage (first absorbed by Plasma Shields or Defensive Matrix) as the energy lost, with 1:1 ratio. & II. Yep, Falcon does read every comment.
They are effective as a support unit against a mass army. Especially if Zerg go for mass zerglings and ultralisks. However the key is to keep the carriers moving and abusing the ridiculous range of the interceptors. If you have zealot, dark templar, reaver and dragoon composition the ground anti air Zerg army would be too preoccupied with that to deal with carriers. And to best scourge corsairs and arbiters with stasis are the best counters. Also archons eat scourge for breakfast with their splash damage.
You know the game has gone sideways for both players when its 37 minutes in and both have +10000 minerals and +3000 gas just sitting in the bank and they're at near max pop.
fun fact we couldnt know before this game bcs never saw this compostions (arbiters + queens in same game) - parasite on arbiters denying their cloak field ability even he is not detector.
You can mind control crackling to get crack/speed upgrades. If you really go for slave zerg army this saves money. You can also mind control HT to get storm research with it :D
I have never seen a protoss player lose a late game play especially when they very skilled. Master class play by hworang. He was creative innovative therefore he won.
As soon as I hit zero gas I would of just converted all those minerals into zerglings. Throw a couple dozen as each base over and over and hope it was enough (or even better, drop them). Perhaps start at the bottom to get the carriers away from the new income. Use the queens to snipe the high templar. 10k minerals is 400 zerglings. Think that would be enough?

@@FalconPaladin why are they so rare? It's silly for protoss to not abuse their dark archons mind control and malestrom ability. And use carrier scout combos. The protoss might win more often if they use their rare abilities and weird tactics. Instead of mass pumping the gateway units and getting crushed by hydras and guardians.
Honestly falcon i wasnt even a fan of starcraft until one day i was looking into the history of the moba genre, found out it was based on rts, and wanted to watch a starcraft game. wound up finding one of your videos and fucking loved it. now i watch tons of your content. im still shit at starcraft and only get 60-70 apm but love the content. also do you seriously read every comment
The first moba game was a mod for Starcraft 1. It was called aeon of strifes. It got popular with the War craft 3 mod Defenders of the Ancients "DotA".
I'm like a month late but FYI, you can tell if its a forge or gate expand based on when the protoss scouts. For forge expand you scout after the pylon, while for gate expand you scout after gate. This is because forge expand needs to be able to see what the opponent is doing earlier so they can decide whether or not they need to warp in cannons while for gate expand you warp in zealots anyway so the earlier scout isn't as important. I guess theoretically sometimes pros will try and do mindgames and do weird search timings to try and hide their build but the meta is those scout timings.
good point on adding the resources lost feature...but 20 some years ago they didnt use data analytics like they do now...though with a game like starcraft...more complex data analytics would be a very welcome addition
Obviously Tanks are the perfect compliment to Protoss when they face Terran, but if I could only build one Zerg unit to FACE Zerg in a late gane scenario I think I go Zerglings. +3/+3 cracklings with Dark Swarm seem to plague (no pun intended) Protoss. Protoss having Cracklings would neutralize that threat and also would be good cannon fodder for frontal assaults up ramps.
I sometimes think that mind-controlling burrowed lurkers under dark swarm is the way to go. It is absurdly expensive strategy, but maybe someone can make it work.
Zero went for queens vs BiSu in I think it was heartbreak ridge long ago. I can't remember if it was OSL or MSL or Proleague game. Also I should've probably checked how long this VoD is before starting to watch it :D. Oh well...

41:58 so silly. Why didn't the carriers have scouts protecting it from scourge? They can one shot those scourge. Doesn't make any sense for him to kamikaze loss such expensive units... Besides in the cinematic the carriers had purifier beams similar to void rays in StarCraft 2. But regardless dumb strategy. It's straight up suicidal. For once I'd like to see a protoss player be creative, and have some ingenuity. Aka come up with their own style of play like showtime from StarCraft 2. Instead of doing groupthink which is being an exact copycat of tournament winners like bisu etc. Everyone tries to copy someone else instead of their own innovative style.
if you want to cover carriers with another air unit corsair much cheaper and has more utility than scout (DW vs hydras or spores), you can make 2 corsairs vs 1 scout cost (build faster too), scouts need speed upgrade too (which is expensive one) and the most part - scouts terribly bad vs like 30-40 scourges bcs they all targeting one, corsairs in 8-12 numbers dont care about scourge numbers at all, 1 or 50 same.
@@ИванПетров-ж7э no they work just like Terran wraiths do. They can slaughter the scourge. Scouts are a more expensive Terran wraith with a slightly better ground and air attack. They work best along with carriers and corsairs
@@donniebrasco1364 i agreed, Scout work vs scourge same as Wraith, and Wraith work good only vs 4-10 scourges) when you facing like 50 scourges you will lose like half of your Wraith (and scouts same) because they ALL targeting nearest 1 scourge, you willnt have this problem with corsairs at all bcs they hitting all scourges aroung and with fast attack speed (look games where Protoss have 8-12 corsair squad with +1 air, its no matter how many scourges Zerg have, they all will die, also you can look game on weird map on this channel when Protoss go mass scouts (dont remember name of map), he had like 15-20 of them, and when they faced 30+ scourges half of them just died)

That was the most boring play by the Zerg. No control whatsoever on his army. He deserve to loose. Too bad i waisted my time to believe that he can win😔
It's absurd how Protoss can make an entire army of units that are good against literally everything Zerg has.. an entire army of units that splash damage.. Arty always says it not fair against Terran.. bitch plz, everyone knows Zerg is the toughest to play as lol
It's not absurd the protoss rightfully have such technology because they are the most advanced faction. They shouldn't be nerfed by peer pressure. That's silly that blizzard did that in some patches because according to storyline the protoss are so advanced.
That was very careless of Killer to forget about his queens. I thought he was attacking the Protoss expand in order for him to protect his stasis queens. And Killer had success with destroying the Protoss expand, but Killer forgot to take back his queens, so apparently that wasn't his intention or he just failed. Also if Zerg wants to free up provision for more army and he has money to afford building, better to make Sunken colony instead of sending those Drones to death against enemy army. Killer is not a good player, I can tell. He is too careless and his Hydras instead hitting the Carrier themselves they hit Carrier interceptors. So many hydras died for no reason because of the interceptors. Such a disappointment. I'm not sure this game was a pro game. A very atypical way to play in a pro league. But maybe I missed the point of whether this game is pro or amateur. 🥸😵💫
