Its not about erasing the "Ahmed" in Ahmedabad....its just a colloquial way of saying, roj ke bol chaal me fast pronounciation me Amdaavaad ho gaya hai...its been converted in the day to day way of speaking naturally.....just like Amritsar is called Ambarsar by the locals

Like in my city many places are misspelled, but that doesn't mean we are right.. Fortunately i spell all of them correctly as im logical and educated.. Example Mary Company, is misspelt as Mari kampany or McRobert as Makravat

I am against erasing old names but every city has its own vernacular and local way of saying the same name like for outsiders its Amritsar but for us its Ambarsar. Same way Ahmedabad is Amdavad for Gujarati speakers especially. Like Lahore is laur for Punjabis. Dont nitpick everything bro.

Dimag se paidal insan no one is "erasing" it....Amdavad is just the local way of saying this city's name. Ps: erase karne ka time aayega tab erase bhi ho jayega tu tension na le..orignally it was called Karnavati nagri, time aane par sahi name bhi laga dege vapis.

Nobody is gonna erase the identities of us Amdavadis. They did try to change the name back to karnavati but we amdavadis stood strong and opposed the change. The name is our identity. Outsiders like you have no say in what name should our city have

Aloo ki sabzi with jalebi and Garlic ki kheer is a genuine thing. Though its not popular throughout the land but IT does exist. Aloo sabzi+ Jalebi is actually very popular in Mathura and perhaps some other surrounding cities. I haven't tried it so i wont be quick to judge it but people there apparently love it so it must have some merit. Garlic kheer on the other hand is not something you find often, its actual name is Benami Kheer and it originated in the royal court of Nawab of Awadh(idk the exact year). The kheer was never named as you usually name a kheer after the main ingredient(like chawal ki kheer, sevain ki kheer, etc) , and they wanted to keep the main ingredient a secret(IDK the exact reason why..maybe cuz if people knew it was garlic they ll be judged? ). So Garlic is actually chopped very thinly, boiled along with alum a few times. This takes away its pungency and the remaining garlic slivers resemble almond slivers(but much softer i presume) and then they are used in kheer. Once again its a very very very rarely seen dish and probably only a handful restaurants even serve this anymore.

“Ahmedabad” is called “Amdabad” coz of Gujrathi Accent.. its not intentionally done like how they completely erased their history in Pakistan 😂 I know Pakistanis dun understand “Accents” “Dialects” and different languages because they have already decimated all their pluralities in their territory 😅

some cities are erasing for sure but in case of Ahmedabad its just the local pronunciation. the way language is spoken makes it difficult to pronounce such words

in gujju way its sound like that cos gujarati cant pronounce Urdu or persian word properly cos of their own accent. so they say amdavad but in reality it sound AHMEDABAD. that is the fact.

Cities can have multiple names, and if the erasing of Ahmedabad's old name is an issue, Karnavati has already been erased, and not many people know about it. So, please don't teach someone how to pronounce their own city's name. What would you do if I said you're pronouncing your name wrong? I know the correct pronunciation.
