You can’t tell from this clip, but the stage at Seefestspele Mörbisch is about the size of a football field. If you don’t turn your acting there up to about 11, you might as well not be acting at all. That’s also why they’re wearing headsets, even though they’re professional opera singers. It’s a huge space, outdoors, and by a lake shore. (Lakes eat sound like trees eat kites.)
