I really do believe that this gun design will go down in history as one of the greats. I love mine so much. Those upgrades are incredible. I’m so glad you revisited this one. Have a good weekend brother.
The 92 series Beretta is such a classic reliable handgun. I have the 92 FS INOX in Full size and Compact and the Standard Black M9A1. Love shooting all three. No doubt one of the best style of handguns ever built.
Can't wrong with Beretta. I have an Italian made 92F compact from the late 1980's that I absolutely love. Also have been upgrading various parts with Wilson Combat parts to give it a more modern performance. Beretta will forever be my favorite manufacturer.
I upgraded my 92 compact last year with W/C parts (just like you I did the grips, mag release, Elite hammer and short reach hammer), as well as the Beretta decocker addition. My Compact had a steel recoil rod. I installed the W/C revised linear trigger return spring as well as the W/C revised trigger bar (which needed some stoning). I could not get the short reach trigger to work with the new trigger bar so in went the Beretta steel trigger. I also removed the new Beretta Elite hammer I just had installed and used the W/C hammer, which I like better. I have the 11 pound trigger bar spring installed. Sorry for being so long winded (PUN), but...when I did the upgrades I put my 70 year old brain to work and looked at a better way to remove the safety/decocker. I took a piece of wood a little wider than the slide and placed the recoil spring pocket over the edge, marked the center location of the firing pin block, measured the stroke of the FP block, took a 1/4 inch plastic wall insert and bored a hole in the wood the proper depth and inserted it in the wood. And placed the slide on the wood with the FP block on top of the plastic and no problem removing the safety/decocker and reinstalling...
Great project! I really like the Beretta. I recently got a 92a1 after years of putting it off. I should have gotten one sooner. It is a very pleasant gun to shoot. Lots of upgrades to decide on and of course it’s John mcClane approved.
I’m a Glock man since 94’(G17) was my 1st purchase. My second gun was the Beretta 92fs 9mm Inox “Ghost”. I found it at a local gun shop and she explained a guy lost it by pawning it so I called my friend quickly because I didn’t have the cash but knew I couldn’t let an early Italian “ALL” SS INOX 9mm get away and could tell by talking with shop owner she didn’t know what she had, “ But she said that SS Beretta sure is pretty and it’s in all my favorite Hollywood films !” So he came within 30 mins and purchased it because she sold it to him as a regular Beretta 92fs used price for $450 being in the mid 90’s Beretta/ Glock were in the $500 range out the door back then. I never found another especially in the great shape this one was in with factory box, mags, & all the goodies. I begged him for yrs. to sell me that “Inox” he got that I had found. I told him “Please” let me know 1st if he sold that one because we bought, sold, traded often. He called me over a few days before his last bday Sept.1,2020 and told me he wanted me to take it home with me and shoot it a bit because ammo had become scarce. He “DIED” 5 days later and we have been buddies since 85’ (Best Man in my wedding) and He knew how bad I wanted that gun & made sure I got it and wouldn’t take any money for it from me. It’s hard to find friends like him and I never will again but we sure had “Legendary Good Times” and he will be missed like crazy.#Beretta#Inox#9mm
I have a Beretta 92 Compact with Wilson parts and like it so much that I plan to order a Wilson Brigadier Tactical soon. Can’t beat Beretta and Sig SA/DA pistols.
I love the Beretta M-9 ! It brought me back home alive off two tours. I own one of my own now! Well maintained means well survived. Good video. Made me want to get mine out but it’s 11pm (2300) here and nowhere near a range. Gotta wait my turn again I guess Lol
Love the 92. One of the best shooting pistols ever. Use good quality ammo, take reasonable care of it and you can put thousands of rounds through it without a problem. My only beef is the front sights. Wish they came with dovetailed removable sights. You get that in the G series but I prefer the look and feel of the 92FS.
Love the M9! Most accurate, reliable, ergonomic, well made, fantastic pistol I have ever owned. I went with a G conversion on mine. Decocker only. I couldn't be happier with it. Zero % chance of having a dead trigger ever! As for the naysayers who whine about racking the slide can possibly activate the safety, causing a dead trigger. Oh 'DA HOOOORRROR!!!!!! Oh! BOO HOO!!! Really? The G conversion flushes that weak turd of an argument straight down the toilet! Who needs a stupid safety on a double/single action pistol? Why? It's not a 1911, OK? Is there safeties on revolvers? Yea. I didn't think so. Enough said. Hey, look, if you think you need a safety on your M9/92FS, knock yourself out. I just don't see the need for it. Wilson Combat and other manufactures make some great stuff for the M9/92FS! This pistol rocks! It has been combat proven for many years. If you are on the fence about getting one, think no more. Get one! You will be happy you did! Carry what you want. I will carry a M9/92FS Thank You. P.S. I have seen many people say, "You wouldn't ever want to CCW a M9/92FS." "It's just too big." Really? Says who? If they say that, then they have obviously never checked out the Vedder M9/92FS Soft Tuck IWB Kydex Holster with a claw. Carried at 4:00, this gun is so comfortable and forgiving, and carries so well with this holster you will forget you are carrying it a lot of the time. I'm talking walking, sitting, driving whatever. Seriously. It disappears with the right clothing. Cargo shorts and a untucked longer T Shirt with a sturdy gun belt. Nobody will know it's there. Retention is outstanding too. No, it's not a J Frame S&W or a Kahr PM9. But really, It's not even close to as bad as people make it out to be. They are just regurgitating the party line. Not everyone is comfortable shooting a micro subcompact firearm. Many people prefer a full size pistol. Well, there you go.
I have the 92 compact and I love it! I also gave it the Wilson Combat love. For $50ish you can order a decocker only kit from Baretta. I bought one, but haven't installed it yet.
I think that unless you served with it, it's going to be very hard for you to appreciate it. What always gave me confidence with it was: 1. it's beefy rugged design that holds up to reasonable and (sometimes unreasonable) punishment. 2. It's balls on accuracy! A young marine like me who had never picked up an automatic pistol before was able to train for the first time and qual sharpshooter in 1 freaking day?! 3. When you pull the trigger with a round chambered it goes, "boom!" And keeps booming until you stop or run out of bullets. 4. In the fog if war or in the line of duty very few pistols 10, 30, 50 thousand rounds later can do that...Glocks and Sig Come to mind. (Once again, if the thing was reasonably maintained and looked after...) Beretta M9 (GTW Pistol) Semper Fi
I'm in the process of doing basically the same upgrades to my M9 with a mix of Wilson Combat and Langdon Tactical parts. The change I'm happiest with is changing out the safety to decocker only.
I was just wondering if you ever tried your new iwb holster that you were carrying appendix over on the left side a little bit more cross-draw to see if it was more comfortable for you?
I actually deactivated my Patreon account when I stepped away from RU-vid a few months back. It’s still there, I just haven’t decided if I’m going to bring it back yet.
Nope, no love for the M9. LoL And I'm no fan of slide mounted safety. The slide mounted decocker only I can tolerate. I did have the Taurus version of the 92. And I really liked it. Safety was mounted on the frame. I regret selling it.
