777X & GE9X - Historical visit in Frankfurt:
The Boeing 777-9 in its future base. Boeing uses the return trip from the Dubai Airshow for a visit to Frankfurt. There, launch customer Lufthansa is waiting for the 777-9. The 777-9 will be stationed at Frankfurt Airport by 2024 at the latest.
Boeing has four prototypes in flight testing - N779XW made its premiere visit in FRA. Together, they have completed over 600 flights /1,700 flight hours, Boeing announced.
The enormous 71.8-meter wingspan requires a new mechanism that allows the 777-9 to fold up its wingtips at the gate and during taxiing to save space. The system comes from the German supplier Liebherr.
The new GE9X, the world's largest series-produced engine, breaks all known dimensions - diameter: 3.4 meters. By comparison, the fuselage of an Embraer E2 measures 3.01 meters.

Emirates supports the Cricket ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Emirates has revealed its own themed A380 livery for kick off of one of the most anticipated events in the world of sport, taking place for the first time in the UAE and Oman.

Emirates has released another A380 livery - dedicated to the Expo in Dubai.
Special ‘Dubai Expo’ and ‘Be Part of the Magic’ messages across both sides of the A380 fuselage. The engine cowls also carry the Expo 2020 Dubai messages.
The process of painting the livery design took 16 days. This is the largest project of this kind that has ever been undertaken by Emirates.
Also British Airways visited Frankfurt Airport a few times with their Airbus A380.
