Jimmy's charm isn't that he's super talented at a specific aspect of gaming but that he's just so good at being the glue in social situations. He just has fun with friends and that feeling spreads through the community.

I love that you put Jimmy? Timmy? In the title 😂😂😂 On a serious note, I really appreciate the level to which Jimmy interacts with his fans. He does streams where he looks at their art and memes, he does minecraft manhunts WITH his fans and he is just all about his fans and I love it.

To explain Jimmy's non-theater kid success.... He just rolled an 18 in Charisma! He seems to have a natural charm that just draws people in!

I find it interesting that Jimmy often plays the "fool" so to speak. Like, he'll get pranks pulled on him and get made fun of, but he's always the best sport about it. Not many people could do that.

I love how Jimmy double checks that his video was PG. He might not have meant it this way, but I felt like it was a nice acknowledgement that he has a younger audience that he cares about.

I found Jimmy through 3rd Life like many others here. I actually started getting peeved at Grian and Joel at “bullying” him for a while, until I realized that Jimmy was loving it and egging it on and encouraging them to do stuff like that. I watched his videos and saw he was grinning ear to ear when it was happening. I’m rooting for him to win a Life series 😉 I love his interactions with his followers and fans and doing video reacts.

There was some real pain when Jimmy said “that all happened 8 years ago now”

I still find it funny when I imagine Jimmy having to explain to someone new that his name is James but his friends call him Timothy

I just want to emphasize how good Jimmy is at this job. Like, on a professional level, Jimmy is an all-around excellent content creator. He has really good creative/comedic instincts, he's (despite popular jokes lol) very quick on the uptake, he's willing to and really good at playing the butt of the joke, and as Grian conceded in the escape rooms episode from about a year back, he has very good work ethic. He runs his community really well, his production value is always really high, and he's constantly engaging with his community in small and large ways. Jimmy is just a really good content creator.

Jimmy just seems like a genuinely nice, sweet guy. I love how upbeat he is in all his videos. One of the nicest streamers to his chat as well.

Listening to Jimmy say that one event that he didn't even want to go to sparked everything that lead up to his success reminds me of something my late son said. It was this: "Every good thing that has ever happened to me, happened when I said "yes" when I really wanted to say "no.'"

I was so happy to hear that Jimmy was going to be on this week. I found Jimmy around the time that I was rif'd from my job and went back to school. He was on X Life with Joel and Scott. The first episode I remember watching was that he was so excited to get a ship built by Joel, aka Smallishbeans. It was a small sunken ship, but he was so grateful. I continued watching him after that, and he helped me through Covid. Being stuck at home and having that 2 hour escape was everything. I even tried Minecraft Manhunt and looked forward to Fridays to play. (I was the worst player ever!!! lol) Jimmy is such a sweet kid. Because of him/other Empires people is how I found Skizz and Impulse, and now I am here. I can't wait to hear the rest next week. I got a job now, but i still try to support him when I can.

One of Jimmy’s best qualities is that he’s the biggest hype man for his fans, artists, fellow creators…He plays such a funny, outraged character, but he is genuinely so kind and funny.

You know these people are true friends when they are in a podcast supposed to be learning about Jimmy and the three of them end up in a conversation about sports

I remember Netty saying years ago that Jimmy looks more like a "Timmy".

I really like Jimmy, somebody else in the comments already said this but Jimmy made his channel really all about his fans and I think that is the real reason he soared in subscribers. He just did the thing he was already doing but he hit a niche in the current (then) climate of the internet which was Barbie. But because Jimmy is always so much about his fans and the people who support him, it really truly worked. I don't think he should feel like he cheated the system in some way.

The second I got the notification for this video, I smiled so brightly. JIMMY!!! 😁😁

Like a lot of people here, I appreciate Jimmy in not only how he’s PG, so people who don’t like swears or younger audiences can watch, but also the fact that he interacts with the fan works that are being made. Incredible.

First time I watched Jimmy was the PP on Evo SMP. He's done alot since then and its always nice to see him doing things with other people.

Jimmy the hitting a mill so quickly may not have seemed ‘genuine’ to you but it honestly could not be more deserved, you earned that achievement through interactions with your viewers and you honestly make the biggest difference to mcyt! Your perspectives of the life series and/or different smps (most recently SOS) are always my favourites because I love watching the way you interact with other members of the server and the humour you bring to every episode. Not only that but you also have a great relationship with your community whether that be on your streams through the week and how you get the viewers involved or your comment sections or your community servers, you make everyone feel welcome and I’m definitely not the usual target audience but I watch every video and stream. Impulse and Skizz are definitely right about your energy it is so uplifting! Here’s to the next million :)

I loved seeing Jimmy in the life series, but that short was what got me to subscribe. It made me realize how much I liked his sense of humor, and I've been subbed since. I've even gone back and researched some of his older stuff because it's a gold mine

Jimmy's channel isn't in my core watchtime (I'm a bit old compared to his regular audience, lol), but I respect his hustle and he's a delight to see in other people's videos, or reacting to animatics and such.

Regarding Jimmy’s “Subscriber Phishing” the amount of returning viewers that were NOT subscribed, just subscribed. Totally legit strat 👌🏼

I remember Skizz in one of the first or the second episodes of Limited life mentioning that he didn't even know who the 3rd Bad Boy was, he was like, is it Jimmy or Timmy or whatever ...and soon enough we see that Skizz has developed such a liking for Jimmy jiggles. Our Jimmy is just that good! Way to go Big Man Jim! Thanks Imp and Skizz for this lovely series.

I've very happily been subscribed to Jimmy's channel since 2017. I made some of my dearest friends on his subscriber server. He has cultivated such a wonderfully positive and welcoming community. I'm glad this podcast can show more of the human behind the entertainment.

Yooo hes here! I personally go with Jimithy hehe I know hes got an interesting story cause hes got that clickbaity style but also is clearly humble and had less subscribers but really professional look and tries to keep others family friendly while also leaving those parts in... an interesting style of seeming contradictions

I've been wanting to say this for awhile but the what's stopping you video inspired me to change my career path and I am now working towards a career in aviation. I've never been happier thanks to the changes you've inspired me to make.

Hey Imp and Skizz! Just wanted to tell you thank you for giving me some chill and peace, writing this as I've watched the ep with Doc, and this one with Jimmy. Have been struggling with some things still, even after I've moved from Asia to the UK, so this is my first hello from the UK! A lot of things, new and old ones have been daunting for me, even ones that I've loved doing before or meant a lot to me... Even youtube videos and podcasts.... It probably is some weird psychology i have that a podcast is formal and scary.... But hermatcraft isn't xD. So it's good to be back here! I don't usually have autoplay, but this tv was, and it played you guys after a doc's latest episode while I was knitting (a source of frustration despite it supposed to help clam me down). Wanna say thank you for making it such a chill space to come back to... you guys are like this old friend that I'm scared of catching up with for fear of seeing how far I've been left behind... but your videos and voices are timeless, so I may not catch things as soon as they come out, but it feels like you guys are still there where I am at my growth.. I totally understand how crazy it is to connect with someone online, i found this kid around my age about 2 years ago who doesn't even speak my language but we've became good friends and I have been dreaming to go visit him but I've never traveled internationally I just keep thinking, maybe next year. I just find it fascinating.

I wonder if being a teacher and trying to keep the kids engaged could have been beneficial toward his improve skills. Love you guys!!!

I'm glad you said you don't work weekends. When I left the Restaurant industry to teach, I told myself that I would maintain my Monday - Friday schedule, even if my Online Instruction went into the 7-8PM local time for my classes. The 7-8pm time slot is the latest (EST US) time that I teach, which allows for Pacific Coast students to take my course between 4-5 PM Pacific Standard Time. (Just before they have dinner)

So excited for this interview. I found Jimmy through the 3rd life series and was instantly a fan. I can only imagine the hyjinx he and Skizz would get up to if left to their own devices.

But I'm sure lots of people have opportunities that fade to nothing because they don't follow through, or something isn't the right fit after all. You were given opportunities and you took full advantage with hard work, courage and creativity.

I love this butterfly effect discussion, but I wonder how much scarier it is when you realise that terrible things can happen from just as innocuous life events. Skizz says imagine tomorrow, as if the butterfly effect is always a positive direction, but the true terror is realised when you realise it can crash down just as meaninglessly.

A think one thing that makes Jimmy good at what he does is that he isn't afraid to both the butt of the joke and will willingly place himself there as well (yes he complains but it feels performanative) without coming across as whoa is me. I think it helps us feel as in with the joke and humanaises him.

Jimmy you are so darling and a cutie! I'm so grateful that I get to enjoy your content and I love when you collab with others. What wonderful parents you have to be that supportive. Grateful to your ex girlfriend for pushing out the door. Can't wait to get to know you more!
