@@peno100 "time acceleration" + if a gunner or pilot is injured he jumps into his place, fixed positions are not needed, it should be possible to change in case of injury
I do too. AND that I - due to the lack of a manual...whyever *cough* - I never knew about the "time acceleration" (CTRL+T iirc). So there we were, my brother and I, flying real time sorties from England to Schweinfurt and whatnot, and still somehow completing the career mode.
Imagine a multiplayer version is whole squadrons made up of IRL players. Would love to see a persistent campaign that reacts to how many objectives the community achieves
@@zaelu in rl, the B-17F and G models had ten crewmembers. Starting from the nose: 1) Bombardier, 2) Navigator, 3) Pilot, 4) Co-Pilot, 5) Flight Engineer (top turret gunner), 6) Radio Operator, 7) and 8) Waist Gunners, 9) Ball Turret gunner, and 10) Tail Gunner would be awesome if each of these roles had actual depth for legit gameplay, and would also like to see accurate/precise damage modeling and penetration physics
I have been gaming since I got an atari 2600 for christmas back in 1979, and to have witnessed how video games have evolved over the last 40+ years is amazing. Makes me wonder, whats next? I guess the movie Player One is soon to be a reality. This game looks incredible.
I'm in my 50's, and have been gaming solid for about 42 years. I feel the technology is now stagnating. Not much of an improvement over the last 10 years for various reasons. I remain hopeful about that future "Player One" promises also. God Bless
@@Crewonephotography I hopped on the VR bandwagon back in the 90's, but it ended up being a passing fad. I fear it is still too expensive for mass adoption, but, hands clapped together and praying it is here to stay. All the best to you.
I love the look of this, my only hope though is that they allow the use of the controller joysticks for controlling flight inputs if we wish, I always hate how in VR flight games the actual movement of the hand without anything to stabilize against can make for extremely unstable and jarring movement. If not no worries I’ll still love to be able to fly a b17 at this level!🤘🏼
Beautifully detailed B-17. Very nice work done with interior and exterior. I don't know if the music was a third party overlay or will be offered in game, but I highly recommend it be in game as a part of the dramatic experience. The one thing that felt lackluster, and I completely understand that this is just a snapshot release test: Make this a solid single player experience by offering well rendered, realistically animated crew that present unprompted dialogue, even cussing and joking, as well as prompted dialogue that you can trigger in VR by looking at them. The bomber is the main arena for your player's experience, and it must feel alive with brave souls, not dead-eyed mannequins. Great demo.
The muzzle flash is a little much for daytime. Yes I have thousands of rounds through the M2, single and twin mounts. But this looks awesome, I'll finally have to get a VR headset. Microprose is on a tear as a publisher.
Great work. Noticed a few things on my first watch. There seemed to be some noticeable delay (lag) in the early parts of the video. Also unless I may have missed it but we saw most of the stations however we did not see the lower ball turret (which is the position I have most interest in). Really like the sounds of the guns however the jeeps engine just sounded awful (to me at least). Hope we can get more of these dev blogs to see how it comes along. Still very much looking forward to this game being released. It is my most wished game ATM 😀
@@NyteStalker89 I was not stating they are final sounds however just pointing out that this sound is particularly bad so they can work on this first (at least hoping so) 😉
OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD ive been waiting for this for months !!!!!! ithought it was dead in the water !! im ssoooooooooooooooooo exited for this !!! i so cant wait please make it quick !!!!
The cockpit and texture-mapping seems really low fidelity compared to other VR-Multiplayertitles like IL-2, MSFS & Warthunder Also, i hope the projectile and surfaces get some dynamic ricochets and the sounds will get some love too. Then again, it´s a devblog so still in development aand it looks great so far Still, looking forward to more good VR titles no matter the Graphics (See VTOLVR, which is KING) Thank you and Keep up the good work!
Yes, we have a confirmation on the official discord server that there will be a B-17F and G variant, B-24 too but Idk which variants and they are also working on a Lancaster DLC for the RAF night raids :)
Looks great. Hope its a full game not just a 'VR' game. AKA you fly to germany and you have 100+ B-17's around you, multi enemy incoming, flak etc etc. Not 5 planes and half a dozen enemy...
Will this be available for the Meta Quest 3? I've been watching and waiting for this game but cannot seem to find out if it'll be released on the headset I have.
In the late 1980s and early 90s when I was on active duty in the Marine Corps, I shot .50 caliber ammo that had been made in the late 40’s and early 50s, so I know that the daytime muzzle flash of the M-2 .50 caliber machine guns shown here is WAAAAYY too large/too much. You need to tone it down…A LOT!! Seriously… I’m liking the concept, so I hope non-VR is also an option.
Not sure how sim focused this will be, I’m guessing you’re aiming for a more casual arcade feel. I’ll wait for the reviews. In either case please think about including an option to stop the controls from turning bright green. It’s completely immersion breaking.
I really love this but I wish there was a multiplayer version of this and it wasn't a vr game. not everyone has VR so i just wish there would be this with multiplayer for us non VR users.
B-17 Flying Fortress "The Bloody 100th" will be non-VR version but won't have PvP or Co-op. I'm not sure why there's two sim's of the maybe the same game in development. It's possible the VR version might be a more casual sim and the "Bloody 100th" might be more of a study sim. I do believe I seen somewhere that the "Bloody 100th" will have a flyable B-24 also, not sure about the VR version. It would be nice if the "Bloody 100th" was more like DCS and IL-2 with the VR and multiplayer element all in one sim. But I'm not a game programmer and I don't know their budget maybe this was the only way for them to do it?
Hardly a "Blog" How about just releasing a paragraph of how things are progressing every couple of weeks? Then we won't bombard you with queries on how it's developing @MicroProse !!! ...Are the ammo-belts going to be static or animated?
singular airframe = singular FM that can be replicated across ai wingmen.. DCS and even IL2 can't easily do this because of the airframe diversity. If you gave the ai the same flight models across 40+ clients, the sim would tank comp performance on the lowest of settings. Just because MP seems to be able to do it, doesn't mean it's an easy thing to do or replicate for other flight sims. That is before you even start to consider any form systems simulation(and yes, there are still things like electrics, oxygen, hydraulics etc. that need to be simulated and replicated across player and ai aircrafts.) It's stupidly complex to do this without screwing over every single person playing.
This lives or dies on the quality of the single player Ai. No way your getting 8 players reliably and regularly to play together, unless it's a friend group.
@@bohdanherasymenko7569if I remember correctly, the original plan was to have this be kind of story based, not a full autonomous campaign. Things may have changed since then though.
im sure thered be multiplayer what really matters is the overall quality of the game . if the game is good there wouldnt be much trouble filling a lobby
@@JDAeroVR Remember Janes Combat? I had the WW2 fighters and the F-15 game, I also had an Apache and F-22 Simulator but my dad couldn't get the F-22 sim to run and I was too young to mess with PCs at that time. I need to spend a weekend digging through my old games assuming the parents didn't toss them after I left, most of them weren't labeled if you know what I mean. RIP Kazaa.
I am So Excited about all the VR games you have coming. Carrier Command is an absolute masterpiece, and I am so thankful to have games from you with such depth and amazing gameplay. Looking forward to The Mighty Eighth VR as well! THANK YOU for all you do to add to the VR community.
Carrier Command is one of the most atmospheric VR games I've ever played. It could do with better VR controls.. But the game itself is awesome. Shooting out a flare at night is so cool in that game. It feels very real even though the graphics are synthwave-ish.
@@JimmyNuisance ya I agree, just being in the bridge, watching it all happening over an island, just an incredible experience. It's one of those games that will be heralded as one of the most innovative of all time, in time. It needs One more pass, just to make all the buttons VR active, then it will be able to be seens as completed and can survive forever out there.
This looks amazing. I for one hope that it will include a reasonable level of 'study sim' elements...e.g., cowl flaps, oil and CHTs, turbo management etc. One can hope 😁 Keep it up team!
Thank you For posting some Progress on this wonderful game we all are looking forward to. After Watching Apple TV+ Masters of the Air, You are what I am thinking of. Take all the time you need to get it ready. I never made it to 25 in the first one. I can wait to die again. At 6' tall I was shocked when I got inside a real B17. The crews were small in size to fit yet stood taller then most that served in this area of fighting. The Bloody 100th is proof of that. Brave beyond understanding for every mission.
I love this!!! I would love to see free movement prioritized going further to help with immersion while traversing through the plane. Having to duck irl or with a thumb stick and then using a stick input to crawl through tight areas would really help put the Cherry on top and make this game memorable.
I genuinely love the fact that this game is still being developed and improved as time goes by. Can’t wait till you guys release The Bloody 100th. Nice job!❤❤
Please, please implement cold-start! Edit: Also, if you could somewhat emulate what VTOL Vr has done for its switches (ie you have a in-game arm that follows your hand and lets you physically reach out and hold the buttons)? It adds SO MUCH IMMERSION to see that you actually have an arm in-game.
The only thing I’m hoping they do it’s make it so there isn’t just people already sitting in the seats and that you can see your person moving and also that you don’t have to click to go into different rooms
Really cant wait for this game it looks absolutely amazing, hope you get the option to join crews and not just people in your friends list. Still no release date yet which is a shame, wonder if they will be wanting testers.....
If this turns out to be multiplayer I can’t wait to get a case of beer, hop in the co-pilot position, and tell everyone they are doing a wonderful job. 😂. I’ll be your hype man.
I can't wait to slap on the headset, hop in the navigator seat smoke endless bongs while give backwards bearings and altitude call outs... "bubbling noises....Proceed at heading 2500, alt 162 m.... cough"
So you have the radio gunner gun which if fine for an F but it looks like you have the nose turret of the G - your plate says the plane is an F - Are you just adding all guns for your demo and will the plane in game be configurable with guns or default to a historical load out?
This is starting to look like the things I dreamed of. This could be (especially with multiplayer so you and your crew can be together online) the reason I spend 5k+ on a pc with all the kit. Keep it coming boys you know how good this could be
