Fort Huachuca is 70 SouthEast of Tucson. You should also tell folks about "B" Troop, 4th US Calvary (Memorial), I was the Ceremonial Detachment's First Sergeant from 1994 to 1995.

One of the best place to live. If I could get my wife to retire from Denver Colorado I would love to move back there. We spent 2.5 years there and it was great.

Spent 2 years there back in the late 80s, It was not a bad place, The enlisted club was almost in our parking lot and the dining facilities were right next door to our barracks

Came here 21 years ago for a temporary job while the tech industry bounced back from a bubble, and been here ever since. My kids are some of the few native Arizonans I know (everyone is from somewhere else). :D

I spent 6 months at Huachuca from 07/85 through 01/86 at MIOBC. I didn't let myself enjoy it then. I wish I had. It sure was a beautiful place - in a stark sort of way. I wish the video had shown a few more old landmarks like my BOQ or the O Club

It wasn't not this pretty when I went there in the '70's!!! Plenty warm and chilly @ nite!!! Pretty scency round the base!!!

This is the place that just detained James Freeman (photographer/videographer) for taking vids from a "PUBLIC" sidewalk. James was handcuffed and all three of his cameras were confiscated. Maybe they could spend more time training the troops about the Constitution as they swore an oath to uphold it.
