This is exactly how I imagined it playing out in my head when writing this song! I love how you showed Lilith and Lucifer on the receiving end of Charlie's phone call! Amazing job ❤️🎨
This also came out before the first episode- But I agree. He was just trying to spare Charlie the pain of failure and disappointment that he suffered through (how I see it anyways)
The realization that what you say to your child actually impacts them. I also love to think that Charlie & Lucifer are similar to each other personality wise. Also the potential parallel of them going against their father's ideals & beliefs.
I like how the tiniest shreds of information we have on him still tell a story. Lucifer fell because he was arrogant and prideful, wanting to rule Heaven rather than to help humanity like he was told. That’s just biblical stuff and Viv seems intent on keeping with the spirit of the notable Demons she adapts into her show. Regardless of if he’s a good father or not he strikes me as the kind of parent who projects their own feelings into their child. Calling Charlie a failure according to her, giving her a dingy Hotel and almost no help, it paints a picture of a dad who does not believe in his daughter to such a degree that he puts in the most minimal effort to help her.
Lucifer as a fallen angel loathes the Heavenly Host. As such, I think him discouraging Charlie from trying to redeem sinners is less about crushing his daughter’s dreams, and more about him trying to protect from what he views as a waste of effort.
@@trashdrawingghost7843 Lilith was the first human woman who refused to submit herself to Adam as she was made from clay just as he was. Therefore, she demanded that their marriage be equal or not at all. Jehevah didn't approve of that and made Eve from Adam's rib instead, claiming that being derived from Adam made Eve less than Adam, and therefore would serve him. Being rejected from Eden, Lucifer invited her to be the Queen of Hell, which would make her the first Sinner in Vizipop's Hell. (Really, the story of Lilith was one of the medieval attempts to gain female equality that the Church deemed noncanon to preserve their status quo.) Charlie is therefore part Angel part human-esque spirit, but a good soul who is only damned by her blood and birthplace. Still, that's enough for her jackass grandfather Jehevah to bar her from Heaven.
@@plantainsame2049 At the end of season one : "You've changed my mind, you've touched their hearts..." It's literally in the lyrics? How, but seriously, HOW did you miss it, the whole last song is them all rebuilding the hotel, because he believes in her and her hotel now. That's the last 5 minutes of the show!
I love how he says “Don’t blame yourself Charlie. It’s just how things are. Some people believe it’s too late once you’re dead. We can’t suddenly change that, not even he who made me
That’s cuz the guy used Charlie’s pilot design in this animatic, dude you gotta realize that this was made before the official show came out with redesigned characters
Lucifer might be supporting Charlie's idea now, but he won't help, notice how he didn't even show up until Adam attacked his daughter, maybe will stay in the hotel, but I got feeling, he won't gonna help, because he still think that there's no hope in sinners.
@@Rayni_XZ.o He would have shown up earlier if he could, but there was the pact with Heaven stating he would let extermination happens as long as the hellborns are not affected. If he had shown up earlier he would have broken the pact and therefore declares complete war against Heaven. But when Adam was ready to kill Charlie, he broke the pact himself, and from then it only took 3 seconds for Lucifer to open a portal and kick the shit out of him. Because of course he was watching the whole thing nervously.
So cool and kinda bittersweet. The song made me think that most likely, lucifer just wants to protect its little demon from the true of humanity and heaven
Yeah, especially because the context we got from the pilot (from Charlie’s voicemail) I guess most people assumed he was going to be a bad father. I actually did too, I assumed both Lucifer and Lilith were going to be a villain couple until the actual show came out
@@SirStarCat.I thought at most Lucifer is just not supportive of Charlie’s plan and based on her call with Lilith that Lilith was just too busy to help but still supportive regardless seems we were all wrong but I love canon Lucifer better anyways he’s my favorite character along with Alastor
@@CelestialCreator999 I disagree becasue his reasons for stopping Charlie are different and he's much more incoraging in canon and everyone imagined he'd be a bit neglectful of a parent yet still cares
He rebelled for a reason he saw the corruption even in the most holiest of places and decided for ounce he rather be a fallen then be a victim I really want to know more I’m loving this
Maybe, but maybe he’s also one of those “all humans are guilty of something” types as well. Which I personally like better as it echoes kind of the idea that Lucifer isn’t just a rebellious punk child but is God’s Satan or “Accuser” and it’s his job to be critical of mankind and tempt them to fall to see if they’re truly worthy. Similar to his role in the book of Job where he orchestrated misfortune onto Job since he believed Job only was faithful since he got everything he wanted, or when he tempted Christ during his trials, or tempted Adam and Eve in the garden
What's that old saying... I'd rather be a sinner than a slave? I mean, what would you rather be? A surf in heaven or a king in hell? I know what I'd choose.
This is how I imagine Lucifer. He probably doesn’t think that his daughter is a failure but the idea is. I honestly would listen to the person that was kicked out of heaven
With the introduction of the Cherubs, I'd imagine them being the poster children of heaven. Seemingly sweet and innocent but obviously containing a lot of inner evil and capable of chaos, so perhaps Luci is just trying to talk some sense into Charlie when she mentions that "Dad was right about her" about how she may fail with her passion project.
@@tobsonasanya4765 The Cherubs were a bunch of two-faced, self-righteous hypocrites. The kind of people in HR who act all friendly when they fire you due to budget cuts.
I'm really looking forward to seeing him in hazbin hotel. The way I interpret him right now is like a loving father that just doesn't want his daughter to get hurt due to an unachievable dream she has.
@@seanmcelhiney3035 But he’s also the prick keeping sinners from migrating outside of the Pride Ring, creating the overpopulation problem in the first place.
It’s incredible how even though this was made before the first season came out, and even though Lucifer ended up acting super different than everyone thought, this is still incredibly close to canon up until Lucifer’s heart-to-heart with Charlie in More Than Anything
Honestly, the big question is would Heaven let them in? Lucifer doesn't think so. Maybe they would, maybe not. But Charlie can help demons do better for themselves, possibly find Heaven in Hell.
@@johnmartin4119 Very unlikely given the god of HH if they even exist and Heaven isn't just run by the corrupt angels, would be the reason things are as bad as they are
@@AndromedaNull potentially, that could be the arc where Heaven is to strict on morality and it’s up to Charlie to convince God and/or Jesus to make it so sinners can be redeemed
I propose a petition to have this song in one of the episodes. They can even alter it a bit for the personality for the character but I think it's pretty spot on. WHO'S WITH ME?!
I hope this is how Lucifer is. I think he would be more interesting as a character that agrees with what Charlie is doing but just doesn't think its possible, than a character who doesn't want demons to be redeemed.
Lucifer and alastor: * throws a pamphlet at her describing how hell works and what it's purpose is * Luc:" I never thought you were a failure its just that the man upstairs doesn't want to change any of his ✌rules✌even though he himself is exempt from it all 😒"
Considering all of the nuance and depth that has been put into Helluva boss’ characters, it’s gonna be really interesting to see what they do with hazbin hotel.
I have a confession to make, when I heard him sing 'Oh come now dear don't start crying' I saw more of a bored 'oh you're not going to cry are you?' expression on his face. Was pleasantly surprised to see him offer her some comfort instead
I feel like this song really does go into Lucifer and his beliefs. He used to live in Heaven, so he understands how corrupt and elitist it truely is. He understands that what she's doing may truely be just a waste of time and effort. He doesn't want Charlie to do the hotel because he doesn't want her mingling with psycopathic demons that may hurt or kill her. Plus, outside the castle he can't protect her from Exterminators.
As if the exterminators are gonna attack Charlie. I'm Sure if they dare to even point their Spears at her, Lucifer is gonna earase them. Also, I am fairly certain that Katie Killjoy is also gonna get a piece of Lucifers mind at one point.
The reason that Lucifer doesn't believe in redemption is because he himself is a fallen angel so he must've tried to return home to his family but was rejected, and that's why he doesn't want his daughter to work so hard to feel the disappointment he knows she'll feel
The beat reminds me of the song "ashes" but i cant remember who write it but here some of the lyrics "now that i got a taste i think that ill hallucinate for every second that you aren't by my side."
This is kinda close to what lucifer thought in his first coming, he didn't seem to support her dream and tried to make her give up but the only difference is that hes not actually so bad, he just wanted to save her from being crushed like he was
@@johnmartin4119 they probably will. I mean so far almost every cast, side & background character has been voiced by popular & famous people. Hell even the old voice actor of Beetlejuice is playing as Fizz.
@@livioghelminighezzi5579 i love him too, but we could've had daddy issues... And i mean evil tall badass lucy could've been so fun but this is good as well
Low-key I feel like lucifer’s pride won’t allow him to except that sinners could potentially go to heaven. Especially since he is banished from heaven permanently
Honestly given the long list of musical numbers between Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, including the latest villain song featuring Cristina Vee, James Monroe Igleheart, and Alex Brightman, I can only imagine who they’ll get to play Lucifer and how epic the King of Hell’s villain song is.
It's depressing because Lucifier, going by religious lore, was extremely loyal to God, but he made humans acquire free will and questioned His authority. Lucifier here is likely not there to shame Charlie for attempting to redeem sinners, rather that it was next to impossible. If you have watched the CHERUBS episode on Helluva Boss, it was EXTREMELY easy to be booted out of Heaven even if what have happened was of no fault of your own. If loyal, hard-hearted angels of God had little backing if they make any sort of mistake, there was no way that damned sinners were getting a chance to make it into heaven's gates. Lucifier knows this, and not only hates God, but doesn't want to see his child to be hurt from her own good-nature due to being half-angel.
I’m still torn about the fact that they’ll release 1 episode every TWO years 😔 EDIT: yeah never mind it got it’s own TV show :D (don’t know what channel it’ll air on)
legit writing out a simple animation script for it right now so i have something to go off of then im gonna start storyboarding tomorrow this is like the funniest shit to me@@beingweirdisnormal1404
Wait how is this years old and fully on point with Lucifers character? Or was there just a lot of character established on twitter posts I never saw ^^U
Lyrics: Welcome to hell This Hazbin Hotel You’ve got big dreams, well I got some news for you, Charlie You should pack up and sell These demons aren’t well You rose and you fell Shame I was late to the party Cause Heaven’s not goin’ open the gates To let a bunch of mistakes Pretend they got redeemed Well shucks And yes I guess it’s kind of a shame But they’ve got themselves to blame An unrealistic dream I don't know if I'm going to make a difference. I don't know what I'm doing. I could really use some advice, mom. I... I think dad was right about me Welcome to hell Where all the demons are dying You might as well Just give up and stop fucking trying Don’t blame yourself Oh, come now dear Don’t start crying You’ve tried to help But their time here is expiring
I think Lucifer is always proud of his daughter, but he wont support her for one reason... He wants her to succeeded on her own without any assistance from him or any of her other relatives. She has to make it work on her own, yes she can have help from friends but she can't use those puppy dog eyes to get funding or support from her relatives. It hurts him that he can't help her, she's the apple of his eye and he would do anything for her. But he has to be strong and teach Charlie a lesson on being self reliant. She could never be a failure to her father, he will never see her as such cause he loves her.
Well, in the episodes I wrote, which I have done readings of on my channel, Charlie's hotel idea is succeeding and he comes over to congratulate her. Not before he introduces new residents to Hell and kills the challenger to his rule. Would have let him go, but the idiot threatened Lucifer's family and that is something you just don't do.
It's so catchy of a song I have the video on loop lol. siwel please make more of these catchy song at your own pace of course. I if not many others don't want you to be burn out so to speak.
I think if this happens,Charlie may be more likely to try harder with the hotel or maybe she’ll change it up so sinners can at least tolerate each other
What if its that lucifer just doesnt want the sinners to be redeemed? He is the king of pride, he will never be allowed back into heaven. It would make sense that if he cant go back then he'll make sure no one can
The only problem i have with this is that according to Vivzie, characters like Lucifer never not smile. It's their way to show that nothign can touch them.
