this is great! so hyped for this series, and thanks for the kind words at the end! if you ask me, no need for an upload schedule, but keep the commentary for the whole episode! the commentary is great!
For when you play music over the time lapses, definitely use your own tracks; if ppl subscribe to this channel but dont care about your dnb, they can just mute it and play their own tracks - also, this is a really fantastic city start, love the theme!
Your attention to detail is amazing. I feel like there would be more shops directly around the station as opposed to residential though. At least that's what I noticed a lot when I was in Japan.
To answer your question at the beginning of the video, most Japanese rail crossings have four barriers, two on each side of the road. Of this isn't always the case, but most crossings have four. The mod was probably going for that, the barriers did close with that mod right? If so I'd suggest going with that one for more realism :)
Why is it, ever since my late Teens when I first became interested in Anime that I've always been fascinated with the idea of living in modern Japan? The development style, so much high density, everything so charmingly crammed into a mountainous island, rail everywhere, lovely simple but modern homes. So much character and history, the towns scream comfort and community. That said, I still have no real idea what Japanese society is really like, I've seen what I assume are more stereotypes.
Listening to you feels like ASMR, i fell asleep but I can imagine what you're doing with your city. And an original city is amazing, requires high creativity
Loving it thus far i love watching City Skyline builds! the level of detail is excellent and i look forward to what this series will bring. would be great to hear some of your music in the videos as for a schedule that doesn't matter at all as this is just the beginning of the series!
I'm a bit late to the party but want to say this looks really good so far. I really enjoy a commentary as so many others don't have commentary. For small town rural inspirations, take a look at Tsuruoka in Yamagata prefecture , or Matsushima in Miyagi prefecture. I love the city of Tsuruoka, but it is a relatively flat. Matsushima on the othe hand it sandwiched right between coastline and mountains, and there are some great rail crossings there for pedestrians going up the mountain
this is so me, lots and lots of green, plants and trees everywhere... looking forward to your collections in the steam... just found another amazing series..
So well done ! Very beautiful cinematics! モダンシテイ Modern City. I used to watch another japanese csl channel but he's doing a lot of live stream development and im not into that. Your videos is so beautiful especially the color vibe.
I think you are the single most charming, talented and entertaining new channels! Cant wait to see what EVER you've got to show! Haha Maybe talk a little about your inspirations, play some of your music and it'll be a fun watch i think ^^ Personally i would LOVE to see the weirder quirkier sides of a metropolis like that! Some wild entertainment district, movie studio or temple district! Or even all of that! 🤩🤩👌
I really like what you're doing here. IF you want to put some commentary, some trivias about what made you go for that feeling or your research would be really fun
Hey I really love cars, and I really recommend you will make a circuit, because in the 90s drifting was very popular so I thought it would be a cool idea to make a drifting course!
Is your asset collection complete yet? This got recommended for the second time and I just remembered that you were about to share these assets as collection, right?
absolutely love the details and the cityscape really remind me of tokyo. Just one tip that I would give to make it more realistc is that shrines and cemetery do not go together. Cemeteries are next to buddhist temples, not shinto shrines :)
I saw episode 3 first, and it looked great, so I decided to watch from the start :p and have subscribbled! If you don't mind me asking, what mods are you using for this? I recently got into CS, and seeing all these RU-vidr builds leaves the vanilla game a bit lackluster, haha. Edit: Yeah I should read the description lol.
If you have a random gap in between buildings, you should place a single tomb. I live on Okinawa, and that's sure what it looks like. Graves everywhere. Some are really cool to look at. The most interesting ones I've seen are right behind my house. They seem to have been built during WWII, then buried in dirt from disrepair. They dug them back out about 6 months ago.
Osaka is definitely more workable than Tokyo for CS, scalewise. I'd say don't feel forced to make a commentary the whole video, if you want to take a break and play some music it's a good change of pace for the video, rather half an hour of straight talking. At least I personally prefer having breaks here and there. If you make music, I think it's a no brainer! I've seen your work around in Reddit and I'm super stoked this is a series now!
Thanks man, yeah even Osaka is still larger than a single Cities Skylines map, you'll be surprised how big both Tokyo and Osaka actually are, Tokyo being much bigger of course. I think just capturing the overall feel is what I want, and for that I will have to make the compromise to make everything a little smaller, specially with the amount of detailing I like to do.
Wow. Amazing start! I can't wait for more :) I like the commentary... And maybe you could look into the Kochi area for some inspiration? There are smaller, but still dense towns. The cinematics in the intro really reminded me of Kochi and the nearby cities, like Konan.
RU-vid recommandation suck. Thank discord community to let me know your second channel. And i like your commentary a mix of commentary and music is perfect i love your work and i will listen your music now :D
I'm big fan of Cities Skylines, and I like watching how people making they own imagination with mixing themes... Anyway, I'm glad that I'm here. You're doing amazing job with details. I know how much time this needed. You get my attention, and I know, that next videos what I'm gonna to watch it'll be worth it! So many inspiration for my own work at my own citi builds
I didn't want to criticize but this ramp is questionable. Never been in japan but I've heard there is bad infrastructure for disable people. This ramp took a lot of space and then there is stairs anyway. I think long ramp are made for old and disable people so I've got qestion was it intentional? I really enjoyed the cinematic intro though. You should use your own tracks for sure but don't give up commentary entirely. I think the commentary should be majory in the video. BTW I really enjoyed Avalon too. Shame the series is dead now. Mars series is great.
First of all, what an amazing first episode. Second of all, YOU'RE A DUTCH? I literally thought you were American with that English. Third of all, you could look over at Kobe and Yokohama for inspiration on dense japanese city. Also since you might will have large swass of the map unoccupied, how about looking over at smaller cities like say Nikko, or Morioka, and Kochi to see how they handle their rural area.
Haha yes, I am Dutch! I do have a distant relative living in the US but he's just an immigrant there haha. Yeah, I will have a large part of the map be mountains, which I will dedicate at least 1 episode to the terraforming and detailing of that. Currently editing episode 3 and I think it's another really interesting thing that hopefully will show what cool things can be done with this game.
@@ARTFXGaming hohoho, i am really excited to see what you will do next! I am really craving for Japanese cities skylines build right now! Especially after rewatching "Project Japan" and Avalon several times now.
Привет. Thank you for the video you did a good job! Very good start and I had a great time. So interesting that this video fell to me in the recommendation. So thanks to the RU-vid algorithms. I will be waiting for new videos. I'd like to see something from Okinawa. And by the way. You have an ultra sexy voice🥰👂
It doesn't matter but for anyone curious the Japanese text in the intro says "modanshite" with a small "i" at the end which I don't think is usually a thing but I could be wrong, it could extend the ending "te".
