It will cost you $30 USD and the process is the same as getting the old eVisa..."visa free" just means the name was changed from eVisa to eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization)...note they are not saying "No-Fee" travel to Kenya...nothing but a dog and pony show! It looks good for the cameras!

Worse it even affects people who didn't actually need a visa to apply-- this wasn't well thought out. Other countries where Kenyans could travel without a visa my also retaliate.

It's not a free visa, it just means that the processing at embassies is being bypassed by an eTA process. Application and processing time is 3 days and done online and then it's about $30 per visa. I don't get how people comment negatively without having all the information.

No.... It's eTA.... You need to apply 72 hours before departure.

It's ETA. That's not a visa on arrival. You still have to pay and apply prior to your trip. Takes 3 days to process and it's about $30. It's done online prior to the trip but yes, it's checked on arrival. The "visa free" term they are using is confusing because it isn't visa free, it just means that you don't have to go to an embassy to apply for a visa instead you do it on your own online.

If "sober move" means conning the mwanainchi, then yes. The process is the same: You still apply for permission to enter the country. There's still a payment to enter the country. So whats different from the visa system? A visa free system means you should simply show up and be let through (once you show your passport/ ID to show that you're from a Visa-Free country) ....As is the case between member states of the EU.
