So excited you are doing this. I have loved following your journey on your blog. I too am retired on a small private pension and always keen to pick up new ideas to stretch the funds 😊
Hello Ali. I came across your Chanel and am really interested in what you might have the share as I am in a very similar position to you and am learning to adapt. I have a very small pension like you but no income from other sources. I have two little pooches ( my biggest expense bless them ). Lost my mum 2.5 years ago so now on my own - we lived together - and had to give up my full time job then taking pension a bit early to care for mum in the last months. I try now to find any contract work I can where I can work remotely as I can’t leave my dogs for hours every day. Thanks so much for sharing how you get by and for your positivity and hope. I find it all a bit scary having worked full time for so many years and hope to learn from your experiences. 💕
Hi, thanks for joining me. As I have the extra income from the rent I haven't needed to find work yet but I'm open to it as I have no savings. My dog is my luxury and she's still young so definitely can't be left as she gets upset and destroys things! I try to stay positive and make the most of what I do have. I'm always learning so do share what works for you 🙂
@@aliliveswellonless I agree, my dogs are my luxury too and I have signed them up to my vets pet club which I’m finding is cheaper than the more regular visits I have been making to the vets as they get older ( 12 and 9 years ). I’d not want to be without them. 🐾🐾
Nice to join you on your journey (not my favourite word) I retired at 54 and 8 years later I am thriving. I have always lived a frugal life and to me it is freedom.
Hi from usa. I just like seeing what other people buy to get ideas to feed my large family. If i could i would move where you live. Always find it such an interesting place.
New subscriber here fello Scottish 😊I’ve been on my minimalist journey a few years now tightening my belt was the best decision I’ve ever made as I was a shopaholic
That's a great positive outlook and more or less how I started out 13 years ago. I didn't have a choice. It took a few years to get myself back on my feet then I took steps to make sure I had choices. Thanks for subscribing 🙂
Hi lovely to meet you I’m also in the uk on a very small pension I absolutely love being frugal and like yourself spending my money where I want to I’m not sure if your Lidl has the same offer as mine but they are giving a free bakery product every day just have to spend 0.1 pence so amazing Take care look forward to seeing you soon xx❤️❤️❤️❤️
I live across the "Pond" from you, but we have so much in common! We're getting ready for retirement, too, but I have always been frugal. Looking forward to learning your helps and hints for saving money, too!
Seconded. Well done Ali. I’ve read your blog for a long time but never been able to comment and now can’t comment on here but could hijack Sue’s comment. Not sure why that is. Hope you don’t mind Sue. Anyway, I will enjoy following you here and I’m sure to pick up some good tips. Best of luck with the channel.
@@maggiecraven9625 Thanks! I have no idea how/why comments on my blog won't publish as I allow anonymous ones. I do hope that's not a problem here. I'm sure Sue won't mind. Comment away! 🙂
Seeing your veg box has made me order my own for tonight. Fingers crossed I'll get lots of tomatoes and peppers just like you have. Knowing my luck I'll have everything I don't like. 😂😂😂😂
51 year old teacher here. My family is from Scotland (Airdrie) but moved to England where i was born. Currently i am squirraling as much money away as i can as i want to either go part time or leave teaching entirely. I lost my dad and brother to cancer over the last few years and had a heath scare recently. It makes you reconsider your situation. I look forward to following your journey.😊
Hi! I started saving like mad at 51 knowing my teacher's pension was small. I wanted the safety of knowing if I had to go part time or retire I'd have enough to live on. You're so right about health being a priority. I hope I can share what I've learned along the way 🙂
Just come across your video. It was lovely to see someone in similar situation yo myself. Have been retired on a local gov pension from education, but now my state pension has begun. It has made things a bit easier, but it is always lovely to pick up ideas. I occasionally am lucky enough to get a lidl box, but they are very scarce here. Look forward to your journey videos in the future.
Just found your channel and have subscribed. Looking forward to your future videos. I too live alone on a small pension income. Always looking for new ways to stretch my budget.
Hi Ali, just stumbled across your channel. I’ve an allotment I absolutely love time spent there. Time goes by fast and I can be at peace with nature. I’ve subscribed to your channel and looking for to your content 😊
Great first video Ali. Well done you 😊. I’m still working, though only part time, and took on a new mortgage last year, which I aim to pay off within the next 5 years. Hence, I find myself living on a tiny amount of money every month, so look forward to sharing your journey, whilst learning and perhaps sharing some frugal tips along the way
Hi.... Your channel just popped up. Congrats on retirement. I need to read what is being said as I've a problem with my hearing. Anyway.... when reading - it said your small pension is £99,000.00 a year! Is that correct or a mis typed error? Regards & best wishes. Rose
@@aliliveswellonless Ah... sugar... that's a BIG difference! Sorry about that. My income is €9,200 per annum. I've adapted & live within my means... without being mean or feeling deprived. Life is good. Wish you all the best with your channel. I'm looking forward to your tips etc. Rose 🌸
Lidl gather up all their fruit and veg that is on their use by date and put it in these boxes to reduce food waste. The UK has had a massive shift in reducing food waste going to landfill. Sometimes it's stuff that's burst out of prepacked items or just the last few in a tray so they want it gone and a new one put on display. It's just dumb luck if you score one and even luckier if you get a decent one as sometimes the produce isn't usuable (I've had soggy bagged lettuce!) I just got lucky. Most folk who get a good box like to show it off! Like me!😂
Thanks for the comment. It's my first video talking to the camera so I'm still learning the technical stuff. I've ordered a microphone so that will improve the sound quality in future videos 🙂
