Welcome back friends! In this episode of our mega Morocco road trip we leave Marrakesh & head back over the Atlas Mountains into Morocco’s Berber heartland. It’s a pretty treacherous drive with lots of snow, but we make it over without too much drama.
Our first stop is Morocco’s Hollywood, aka Ouarzazate. Owing to the immensely beautiful and unique landscapes around here, loads of films & TV productions have been set here. Gladiator? The Mummy? Game of Thrones? Yep, all here!
The star of the show is of course Aït Ben Haddou - a village completely made of mud. Mud! A whole village! It’s hands down one of the most incredible places we’ve visited on our travels.
But that isn’t the only reason we’re here - coincidently, this is also the part of Morocco that so many of you have suggested that James looks like he is from.
And honestly having now been here - we totally get it!
Hands up in the comments who’d have jumped on that mule to cross the river?!
And if you haven't already - don’t forget to like & subscribe!
Sarah, James & Ady

It is futuristic, no doubt. But all of you crossing the river on a mule! That is definitely a ride back in time! And yes, you look like a local, James. But try to dress like one for a day and bargain hard in the souk. It will be a day to remember! It will be fun, trust me!

How amazing your beautiful British accent. You are a school for us, in a country where English is purposely politically marginalized from Paris ! Pupils learn it only 3-4 years before acceding to university. And, the ESP English (scientific and technical, business..) still doesn't exist in different studies. However, there are some french bilingual countries as Algeria, Mauritania, Tunisia, Lebanon, Belgium and Switzerland.. where pupils learn English 7-8 years beside the two official languages.

I was recently on our bus tour through the very same places you show on this video (going east to west) -- probably a couple of days before you came through. We got stopped at the small town of Imiter, and had to turn around and go back to the previous town to stay for the night. The road was impassable because the melting snow from the mountain was flowing over the road and the police wouldn't let anyone through. The next day we were able to get through this point, but then were delayed on our way up the Atlas Mountain pass at the town of Agouim for a half hour. They had just reopened the pass an hour before, but there was one-way traffic in the city center of Agouim due to parked cars buried in the snow and just a lot of snow with no where to put it.
@TheWholeWorldorNothing
@TheWholeWorldorNothing Год назад
Oh wow! Sounds like we got lucky with our timing then. It was amazing to see that much snow but it will probably take some of the communities around there quite a while to recover. Hope you enjoyed your trip anyway ❤️
