Yeah true, I've never looked up to a person so much as I look up to Mike, he's my biggest inspiration and idol, I think he deserves so much more respect
I’m a little new to bass, only songs I can really play are Feel Good Inc by Gorillaz and Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, but I wanted to find some Green Day songs to play. So, naturally, I typed in “Green Day bass covers with tabs” and watched a few. Then I saw this one. Watched it, and I realize- maybe I’ll wait to play this one... it’s terrifying (yet amazing) to a new bassist such as myself. Mad props TO ANYONE who can play this, I admire you.
@@gabeaddisonmusic Actually its not a really hard part, but it sounds cool for sure! It takes a lot of stamina thou, and the massive amount of repeating in that high tempo makes it easy to get lost!
I tried to figure it out and I terribly failed, especially when I exercised the syncopation. Ok, pratice makes perfect. One thing is pretty clear. Green Day are heroes and I adore every person who can play it like this.
Track is 25 years old, wow. Just discovered some GreenDay tracks like this, I hadn't realised they were so accomplished. Sounds simple like punk until...
Just do it :) After learning one Green Day song the rest is easy because you have learned his way of playing. Its pretty much same playing in most songs, just different chord progressions :)
Is this hard to play on drums? Im an experienced bass player who is starting drums and guitar and im looking for something that would be challemging but still able for a begginner to learn.
One month playing bass!- I’m gonna attempt this. Doesn’t look too bad, but there are a couple giant jumps that freak me out, especially in the chorus at 0:50 from “nice” to “wasteland”
@@schemaboy4848 I’ve actually got it down, I nailed that jump and am pretty proud of my ability to play the song. Still gotta work on the solo part tho, I’m a little slow lol
On the contrary, my action is pretty high :) You can get this sound with new strings and, of course, by picking hard... then try adding a bit of overdrive!
I used a ZOOM B3 multieffect with a little overdrive + compressor, then plugged in Guitar Rig 5 amp simulator... but i think the most important thing is having new strings and picking hard!
Hi! Mike Dirnt plugs his bass directly into a Fender Super Bassman amp, which has an overdrive channel... you can use a simple overdrive pedal (i use compressor + overdrive from my ZoomB3 multieffect). Far better with new strings! :)
How does one not get tired or lose rhythm while playing the solo ? my hand gives up near the end were Billie Joe starts playing a E G F# F chord progression...
YALL gotta help me. im trying to pick a song to play for bass in front of the entire school and im fucking dying ??? any green day or blink-182 songs that are intermediate skill but sound good would be appreciated
