I just visited Stamford for the 2nd time ever.. And Stamford is a freaking VIBE… ❤️❤️❤️.. Super classy, upscale, excellent night life and surrounded by big company Corperate offices (Great Jobs)… Stamford is a entire vibe.. Safe 100%.. I highly recommend
Great video! I'm considering moving to Stamford for work, so I've been looking for videos like this to give me a better feel for the area since I've never been. I've seen lots of other channels making videos like this for larger cities, but there's not much for Stamford right now and this is easily the best one I could find. The drone shots were really nice too! If you made more "walkthrough" style videos like this for specific neighborhoods and areas around downtown, I think it would be super helpful for a lot of people like me who are looking to move but haven't seen the city yet. Thanks for making this.
I was born in Saint Johns Hospital, my family moved from Ireland in the mid 1800s to Stamford . Stamford was a large commercial harbor and a LARGE IRISH IMMIGRANT CITY.
Free trolley to take you around town that would be the only thing free in Stanford. And if you go to the beach is 20 bucks to park. And then there's a season pass to park even though your taxes paid for that beach. And if you go there after hours after the attendant has left you'll get about an 80.00 ticket if you don't have their pass
Cove Island Park Beach should replace the shells sand with dolomite sand. It's gonna look better. The Harbor Point reminds me of Docklands or Port Melbourne in Australia.
Thanks a lot for the video, Definitely Connecticut is so beautiful in many many cities! I lived there for 30 years until I moved to Houston, TX 2 years ago. Keep your great job doing videos!!
Stamford is great! I live next to Bridgeport, but have been here many times. It is about half way between 2 metropolises which are New Haven and New York.
North Stanford has decent roads but the rest of the city is a pothole junkyard. What do they do with the tax dollars up there I mean Hope Street should be called hopeless street it's really bad. Now I haven't said that Stanford is beautiful
Stamford CT is nice. Me and my husband was out there for the Jerry Springer show. It's close to NYC. I would live there but it's expensive because it's close to NYC
How can I contact you? I'm looking for somewhere to rent in Stamford. I have a 6 years old so I want somewhere with good schools and kid friendly. Thanks in advance.
My school’s marching band was in a movie that took place in Stamford, at Westhill High School, which they renamed to Cresthill High School! The movie is partially filmed in my town, but mainly, its setting is Stamford. The movie I am talking about is Chang Can Dunk. (SPOILER WARNING: The movie should be called “Chang Can’t Dunk” because of a big plot twist!)
Most of my cousins and aunts and uncles live here and I'm visiting for a week in a month ive been here once but as a baby so i don't remember such but it will be a nice experience to see what my siblings which are way older then me grew up with
I've lived here most of my life. Don't love it: don't hate it. It's got everything - a downtown mall, a vibrant downtown, parks on Long Island Sound, a lot of restaurants, bars, and stores, a new hospital and a helluva lot of other medical services around town (the number 1 business is medical care). It also has great transportation up and down the New Haven line and Amtrak. The problem with it is that it's ugly. I don't know when most of the buildings went up: 1930s? 40s? 50s? Whenever it was, the predominant architecture style seems to have been the "butt ugly" style. Sooooo, it's got everything, but it's ugly.
@jerrellbryant What I think SHOULD be done with all the dying malls around the country, including the Stamford Town Center, is to convert them into medical centers, for which they'd be perfect - a lot of parking, a lot of elevators, wide walking areas that wheelchairs can fit through more than easily, with a whole gaggle of different specialties all under one roof. If I were a real estate developer or investor, that's what I'd lean towards. As for the Norwalk mall... I drive BY it all the time, but have yet to get to it. It looks bleak and uninviting as hell from I-95.
Years ago the Chicago White Sox were going to build a minor league park in the South End, but residents voted it down, and Pitney Bowes built their headquarters there.
I’m potentially moving to Connecticut in August. I know literally nothing about the state, but my job opportunity is in Stratford. Stamford however looks way more of my speed making the jump from Orlando. If I end up in Stratford, I’ll definitely be visiting Stamford. I’d love to get more details on fun things to do in the area!
@@michaelspindler9922 Awesome! Thank you. I actually move up there next Thursday so I’ll shoot you a text. Definitely looking for some fun spots to check out.
