Welcome aboard. As a born and raised Minnesota Gopher fan who transplanted to Los Angeles 25 years ago, it's nice to be back in B1G country. I had an easier time watching every Gopher football game on LA tv than watching USC and UCLA football. The B1G network is the real deal. No more PAC 12 network causing some USC and UCLA games to be off air in LA since nobody was carrying that network. You west coast guys are now in the B1G family that will always have your back.
Huge welcome from Huskerland! We cannot be more excited to bring ya'll into the family, and I cannot wait to come see the LA Coliseum when we face off in November. GO BIG RED!
We Sparties have tangled with your Trojans a few times over the decades. First I remember was '78 as a frosh. We were under a TV and bowl ban. I biked to the other end of campus to watch on closed circuit in a dorm where a bunch of athletes lived, USC won 30-9. But things would get better as we won our last 7, we'd have met again in the Rose Bowl but Michigan got to go because of the 3 year ban. In the '80s MSU once both opened and closed the same season vs the Trojans. Anyway welcome to the B1G!
As an avid Ohio State fan, I welcome Washington, Oregon, USC, and UCLA to the Big Ten. You'll be good additions to an already great conference Edit: I feel like I should say this: For now, I am friendly. But when football season comes, it'll be war
I love the attention to detail and overall production. Not to mention it wasn’t just a focus on only football. I think it was funny that they picked the water polo coach to interview when the conference doesn’t sponsor the sport, but just shows the conference highlights every aspect of its schools and not just the money making programs. The PAC was fine with just standing in its history but the B1G is truly embracing all of the athletic success these 4 schools bring.
Also the academic part of the B1G is top notch as well with the B1G Academic Alliance. The B1G likes to think of themselves as the Public Ivy League on the academic side so USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington will reap the benefits academically as well in the B1G.
Wow! Being a Ducks fan, what a difference from the Pac 12 network! Not because they spoke highly of Oregon but how they spoke so highly of everyone else. Not just blowing smoke like the pac12 and ESPN did with Colorado. But actually speaking about the facts of the conference and not blowing smoke to sell a product. Well done Big10...wel done. Excited for the season.
As a huge USC fan, I would give anything to have the positive momentum and NIL that Oregon has. I don’t see us beating them at all in the next decade and we may lose to Rutgers this year. Fight on
UCLA has 49 Bruins competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics and have won 123 NCAA national championships. UCLA is the most applied-to university in the country. UCLA has been ranked the nation’s No. 1 public university for seven years in a row by U.S. News & World Report and is known worldwide for the breadth and quality of its academic, research, health care, cultural, continuing education and athletics programs.
The B1G is loaded. Coast to coast, bigger population and bigger metroplexes- they’re going to be the premier conference when college football becomes separated from universities and truly becomes an NFL 2.0 in the future.
Worth noting: a Wolverine was seen and confirmed on video this week in EUGENE OR, home of the Ducks. The question is…who drove all the way from Wisconsin to release that beautiful creature here?
Of all the networks launched, I think the B1G has the best. It's an actual network that isn't tied to ESPN like the SEC or ACC. I don't even know what that debacle of a mess PAC network was. You'd think a conference based out of Silicon Valley could put together a competent network, at least the technical part.
I love how a newcomer (Oregon) is favored to win the conference over the 3 time defending champ. Welcome to you all but keep sleeping on the big dog of the conference.. you'll get your wake up call soon enough! Go Blue!!!!
Of all the coaches, players and administrators from UCLA why interview a coach from a non Big Ten sanctioned sport on location in Hungary on such a big day?
Outside of football, UCLA and USC are by far the best two schools in the BIG10 when you factor ALL sports and academic achievements. The PAC12 had an over 50% average win percentage against the BIG10 over the last 5 years in football. Not sure where all the “the BIG10 is a real test” rhetoric is coming from. All marketing garbage for the BIG10.
Where are those statistics(Send a link) and 5 years is such a small sample size. The BIG 10 is good just like the SEC. If you have the best teams of course your going to be good...
Why does WASHINGTON have a " W" on their helmet? They got blown out in the natty last year! Shouldnt they have an " L" on their Helmet? As a Duck fan....id be ok from now on, calling the team in Seattle...." LOSSington!! 😂😂
