I had a horse with a mysterious lameness in his rear hoof too. It only bothered him after long rides or when his hoof started to grow. We had a couple vet checks and we watched him all the time. There was no real cause, he just had soft and very white feet so we Just had to keep his foot trimmed and flat at all times. As long as his foot had no length on it and we didn't ride him hard he was perfectly fine! Best of luck with your new family member, I hope your plans for him go the way you want them to! He is absolutely adorable and amazing.
SOOOO CUTE!!! HE IS SO FLUFFY IM GONNAA DIEEEEE! you soooo need to dress him up as a unicorn, my barn has a pony called maxumas and they dress him up as a unicorn and have photo shoots with little girls dressed as princesses! SO CUTE!
Oh my gosh!! He is so cute!😘😘. I have been wanting to get a little pony for a companion for Ryan since my other horses don't get along with him. I can't wait to watch him grow and see his transformation!!
There are so many fantastic ponies that go through auction or are at rescues that are looking for homes. If you just want a companion and aren't worried about the pony being rideable or a certain breeding etc you should check that out!
Excited to see more of this guys adventures with you on Instagram! Hope his lamness is something that can be helped. I am super curious how a short legged, lame little pony managed that big step into the trailer. He must be a very willing character if he manged to jump straight on.
I am always a little sceptical about little kids getting pony's. In most cases those poor things get thrown away or sold when the kid is too big for the pony.
Follow her on instagram (the same name as here). She is TOTALLY not that kind of person! When the kid outgrows this horse it will sure be kept for groundwork and +R lessons I suppose
Adele would never “throw away” a horse or pony, and you can tell that by her whole Instagram, she’s always most concerned about her horses health and happiness!
While I have seen that first hand (they didn't even keep the pony more than a month in my experience), Adele isn't that type of person. Valid reason to be concerned, but this pony is safe here. :) But I hate seeing that too! I even hate seeing full grown people go through horses like they go through clothes. Just stop buying horses that you don't like... And if buying a pony for a small child, I would want to see that pony learn how to pull a cart so even if the kid can't ride it anymore, they can still enjoy the pony.
I completely understand your concern , and that's why I said "buy the pony or the dog or the horse FIRST for yourself and second or last for the kids" because I know my kids will keep growing and may or may not be interested in horses as they grow older, so he is first and foremost a member of the family... His value is not dependent on my kid's interests or size. And to be honest we aren't sure he will ever be rideable to begin with. So I brought him home with no expectations other than to be himself. :)
