Welcome to A History of The Show - A series that is based on events that transpired either on MLB The Show or in the MLB The Show community.
Today's episode takes a look at one of the most important decisions made in sports gaming history.
A few edits/points that I’d like to make -
• 2K football was made by Sega! - Yes, I know. Then 2K Sports effectively bought the 2K branding in 2005 for MLB, NHL and NBA. I used the 2k5 cover for visual purposes, but the point still remains there could not be any future 2K NFL football games under the licensing deal.
• I always say “San Diego Studio” as “San Diego Studios.” It’s incorrect and I’m trying to fix my habit of automatically pluralizing it. Sorry 😅
• MLB 2006 was the second year of Matt Vasgersian as PBP announcer, technically.
