Weld repair bracelet swivel clasp

The swivel part of a clasp was coming out of it's hole in the body of the clasp on a bracelet so it came to me to make it stay in.
To do this I made a ring that the ball end would not fit through, fitted this onto the peg that the ball is on the end of and fitted this ring onto the body of the clasp. I countersunk the ring and welded it into place so that it was secure - it will definitely not come out.
The bracelet and clasp are 9ct red gold so that is what I used to repair it with. I now have a PUK 5 which is great but it makes describing the settings I used more difficult as they are symbols on a screen instead of having names like on the PUK 3S.
The settings for this repair were all on GOLD and the retipping mode (far right of the PUK 5 screen) with the default welding time. For welding the small ring up it was on 14%, for securing the ring onto the clasp 22% and building up needed a bit more power , 26%.
The equivalent settings I would have used on a PUK 3 are GAP 20% /3ms, GAP 20%/6ms and GAP 25%/6ms respectively.

Thank you very much for your videos. They've helped me very much getting to know my PUK 5 (maybe even more now you are using the same model). I can't say that I haven't blown holes in a few delicate pieces but I'm getting better. I appreciate the time and effort taken to post these. Cheers

G Hughes You're very welcome. It's good to know the videos are helping because that's exactly the intention. When I first had my PUK, it took me a few months of struggling before I got my confidence in using it, it's not an easy thing to use. Persistence was the key, so stick with it ! Thanks for commenting and if you ever have any questions just fire away.

Hi, I have never used the Orion so can't make a comparison. I have owned the puk3 and the puk5 and they are both fantastic. Very reliable.
