Not knowing the pace of classes is REAL. I did A open at the race. Haven’t done a race like that in 5 years and the last one I did, I could make a lap without crashing multiple times. But I’m a much better rider now. Figured I’d be very challenged in open A which is more fun than sweeping B class. Turns out I got second place with very minimal effort. I would have signed up for pro and actually had faster laps not dealing with traffic had I known. The guys upset at you are being silly. I think what you’re doing is cool and I’d be very down to get a whacky bike and ride with you in an upcoming race in that series haha. Too much fun!

I am a unskilled 53 year old dirt bike owner of a RMZ450. My son is 17 and bought a RM250. I watch and subscribe to all your channel's. I find your videos very helpful and entertaining. Just keep doing what your doing. Screw the haters. Once it finally warms up here in PA I will use your tips to stay safe and hone my riding. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Dave

Unless their organization rules specifically calls this out, then ignore the haters. From what I have seen in other off road series, you would be fine in A class, unless you are a pro licensed rider this year or last. You had said in a previous video that you were not even eligible for an AMA pro license without competing in A or Pro Am events due to being out so long.

It’s always been you can drop down 1 class when it’s not your regular discipline MX/SX and your not even eligible to ride those with the time away. It’s about having fun but being beat by a KLX is hard to explain to their girlfriend I think it’s called you emasculated the gentleman so his voice was a little HIGH for a while. 🙏💪🏁❤️

Bro, haters gonna hate. Sounds like the guy who wants to boot you into a faster class is the true sandbagger, just saying. I personally think that you are 100% over the target by showing how technique, rather than equipment, is the greater part of the equation of success on the bike. I find that my riding experience is happier and more meaningful now that I am focused on correct technique instead of having the best gear. Oh, and I'm faster than ever too, on an 18-year-old bike to boot. Keep up the good work. Ignore the hate, and just know that those of us who like you are likely gonna give you some hell but it's all fun and games!

In my particular horse world, if you teach, train or ride for a living you are considered a professional and cannot compete in any amateur division.

You’re contradicting yourself saying that the point you’re trying to prove is that it’s more bike than rider, but also handicapping yourself to a slower class than you’re able because you’re on a trail bike!?

Where is this video of the race on the KLX 300? The KLX 300 has been one of my favorite bikes. I did all sorts of trails on one growing up and kept up with the group of riders on all sorts of faster bikes. I have always liked the saying it is more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow. And that is how I rode my KLX.

Man, its not like the A class has huge payouts in the harescramble races, those are just the supercritical that can't be pleased. I love the fact you are trying things other than mx and sx. Its great to show that we aren't one trick ponies, we are masters of our machines. Great job man, you should get some go pro action of that racing, Id love to see how you handle things people like Billy Bolt and Graham Jarvis would do. Billy Bolt started in mx. Now look at him. You definitely could be an enduro champion.

As an amateur sponsored snowboarder in central cali from 2004-2010 until I was 26. I did very well in my area comps and was one of the guy countless young riders looked up to. but at 37 now I can still rip decently but theres no way I could compete against the younger guys. My body is broken and can't take the falls like I used to. Its hard to put out a question Like you did about what class to enter. None of the kids answering could understand what its like to come back after 10 years. Your mind still knows what your capable of but your battered body just won't let it happen.
@straighttimestirrups

You do not need to explain yourself to haters! When I enter a race I couldn’t give a rats ass when I get accused of sandbagging the Over 50 G Class! Now, there is a real issue of people Sandbagging “Big” events. It literally amazes me that I go to some races and see beginners clearing huge doubles/triples and Table Tops! Four Strokes have obliterated amateur racing where there is no clear definition of a C and B rIders when it comes to jumps!

Dude it doesn't matter what you do or what class you ride someone will always have something to say regardless. It sucks but I've noticed the douches of the sport can't help themselves 🤣. Which brings me to my next point those are usually the real sandbaggers. I rode 450B my very first woods race, I'm a damn C rider, but I rode 450B because it was a team GP and my partner was a B rider, those guys were pretty damn quick but I'm not a woods guy at all. I only raced it because it was wide enough that I wasn't worried about a tree jumping in front of me. Also I only do that team GP in September every year now. I'm all track beaides that. I'm just not comfortable in the woods. But good luck buddy look forward to the videos

Tyler, you're a good dude. Couldn't have said it better myself. Actually, couldn't have said it as good 🤣. Unfortunately you can't change anybody, and it's ashamed that because of the (social media) position you are in, you feel like you need to explain yourself; but it does show how much class you have. I'm a little (ummm,,,) older than you and I'm not sure I would have the,,,,,, tact,,,,, that you have when addressing rude people. Good job and keep up the fantastic bike videos. Thanks
