That is ludicrous! I was bought up in a transport cafe in Kington Upon Thames and my dad would turn in his grave to see these over the top inflated prices that are about now!! I can see my dad now cooking the customers bubble and squeak and my mum serving the customers and Purim out the teas and coffee and honestly it was like one big happy family! 2 eggs, 2 sausages, bacon, bubble, mushrooms and beans £4.80 with tea and bread and butter and it was butter! That was 1982! As I grow older I think back on those days and how the world has changed! Love your vlogs and where you end up for your food! X

When I visit my daughter in London I can’t go past the Kennington cafe or the corner cafe. Both do fried bread, great value and of course. Both off the charts, Thanks Darren 👍🏻

The crazy thing is that you could go to a Hilton hotel and have fresh fruit & yoghurt, cold meats & cheeses, porridge, pancakes, pastries, toast, juice and coffee/tea, plus a full English breakfast as much as you can eat for less than that. Any they will even make you a fresh omelette. I know cafes cook fresh and I prefer that if I can but in terms of value for money there is no comparison.!

Outrageous that DJ nice breakfast but spoilt by the price of extras. Some while back a group of us went for a 'breakfast special' one guy asked for the special but without the beans, he was charged £1-50p more because it wasn't a special anymore because he left the beans out, madness, cheers.

Very harsh comments aimed at Darren here. Remember, this channel is a food revuew channel so he's showing us different places what are availble and at what price. Yes it was overpriced i wouldn't personally go there, but stop having digs at him for showing us these establishments. I'm personally very grateful for all of DJ's hard work he puts into these reviews in his spare time as when I'm next down in London, it'll give me ideas where to go and where to avoid. Thank you so much for yet another honest review as always buddy👍

I haven't been to the UK in awhile, but I remember the dollar/pound exchange rate. This guy paid about $30 American for this breakfast. That is outrageous.

Decent looking breakfast but the beans sauce looked watery and microwaved to me. 2 quid for extras is ridiculous. And a service charge really is taking the Michael. I think it was worth 15.

It was all spelt out perfectly clear on the menu you showed, so you can't moan about that. No swapping items. Get over it. Service charge though, comical. What service? It was a dis-service.

Ho my god a cafe, just a cafe, is adding a service charge whatever next! Also every extra was £2, do they charge for air? You could have toast but not fried bread? Dont forget to tip the driver on the bus! Do they charge £2 for each extra to make it easier for them to add up. When you said no tomatoes you should have knock £2 off the bill. I am raging About this place!

It may be a good breakfast but its not savoy hotel with higher overhead. His cafe is not in mayfair , where rents are higher . I live in montreal and la, and terry us charging ritz prices. Im going other places you recommend when i get to london darren for british breakfast. In la , i know some british pubs and i could get that meal for 4o percent less with no added tip. And i always tip. I look forward taking you to breakfast in uk one day or canary islands . Best dan

I'm sure it was nice but doesn't look any better quality than what you would get down any local greasy spoon and certainly nothing to justify the £22 bill. I totally appreciate that businesses have had to raise costs but this takes the p**s. The only way places will learn to stop ripping off consumers is when people vote with their feet and go elsewhere.

just work out the ingredients cost price probably 2,80 for what you had at a 68percent profit would sell at 12.80 so the price wasnt obscene ,but the xtras 2 quid a sausage2 quid an egg ect is a rip off seeing that the cost price of an egg is about 12 p and a sausage is about 25 p it would have been fairer to charge 2 pound for both not each ,thats both at 68 percent so the cafe is still making its margin ,im afraid they took advantage of your good nature and they had the temerity to charge service is quite galling,

So it was £13.80 for a breakfast that included only one egg and one sausage? Without providing bread in any form? They only asked if you'd like toast when you said no tomatoes. Disgraceful. Just wondering if you complained about the price especially charging for the bread and butter which was cheaper to make than the toast they offered.

These cafe reviews are all over RU-vid which makes them popular with tourists who go once and never go back. The tourists don’t care because one £20 fry up is part of being in London. They don’t know it’s a bit of a rip off. The owners of these places are taking the pi$$ but until people stop going it will just keep happening.

Na mate liberty takers. I was actually gonna pop over to Terrys but after your review I give it a miss. A fry up is a working man’s/womans staple bit of grub and to be charging that and a service they can do one. This ain’t America. If you feel like tipping for what you think is a good service or food then that should always be optional. At least it’s better than the cafe you went to in the Strand 😉 by the way your smooth jazz backing sounds reminded me of Moonlighting 😂 I was waiting for Cybill Shepard to bowl in and sit and have a cuppa rosy with ya….

G,day Darren from Australia 🇦🇺 just subscribe your food channel vlogs i like it keep up the good work, Just a short note gary eat also did the review at the terry cafe 9 month ago and gave it a 10 he had the Smithfield breakfast $18.50,a cup of tea $1.50 and service charge $1.15 total cost $21.15 and made no complaint about it.
