Pearl, who has been a revealed runaway watcher on Hermitcraft since the end of Season 8, convinces Grian to agree to reveal the other (also agreeing) runaway watchers and listener.
AKA: I have a fun au for half the Hermitcraft ensemble being eldritch beings, majority watcher or listener, and wanted to use this song. Also that AU was solely made because I thought it’d be funny if Xisuma didn’t realize that his entire server consisted of various eldritch beings, while he’s a regular voidwalker which is also eldritch. So it’s not Hermitcraft it’s Eldritchcraft.
Also I made Tango, Bdubs, and Zed’s designs specifically for this video and I am kinda in love with my Zed design. He looks so soft and huggable tbh. I’m not super knowledgeable on all the hermits, so he might be inaccurate, most fanart I see of him involves a scientist sorta look, so that’s what I went with.

He knew it was protected in that (I explain more in the description but:) Pearl has already revealed she’s a Watcher, like end of S8. And also Doc is on the server so he knows they’re safe. But he definitely didn’t know the extent it actually is.

Head canon time: I'd like to think of hermitcraft as the watcher's runway- you have runaway watchers (runways) and they need a place to launch from, hence the watcher's runway. If you disagree: ignore me

What is a watcher or listener?

Watchers are essentially deities that are representative of us, the viewers. They demand entertainment, suspense, etc.. In contrast, listeners are representative of people who just listen to videos, they prefer more calm and chill things, but they’re far and few. Either way, they’re powerful and have an influence on how things work and happen. They want different things and are cutthroat to get what they want. Fandom Wiki probably has more factual information, that’s just what my au depicts them as.

I’m actually not fully sure of what a Listener is in canon. What I do know is that they contrast/oppose the Watchers and the Watchers don’t like them. In my AU, they represent the people who prefer to listen to videos in the background over watching them, so they prefer calm and chill environments and less action. But they’ll get involved if the Watchers do something especially bad. Basically, they’re the lurkers in chat that only speak up to tell the others off.
