We have a lot of erosion along Shore Road in Eastern Passage, Canada 🇨🇦…. I finally decided to sell my 10.09 acres on Shore Road and that was a relief that I’ll never have to deal with that road flooding or eroding ever… SOLD and I bought property in Bucksport, Maine USA 🇺🇸 on a 4 mile lake, I love living in the US, more affordable and a whole new world!!

I grew up in Osterville. A giant sea wall with humungous rocks is all along the water like on a jetty. I have never seen the sea wall fail. They also put jetties along the shoreline. Not only is it pretty, but it is super functional. I'm not sure why the government doesn't let people build it like that anymore. Must be too effective.
@livinginsouthernmaine
@livinginsouthernmaine 9 месяцев назад
I totally agree with you. Big rocks never move in my observations. Seems silly that the DEP won't allow people to add them. Thanks for commenting.
@carlfaitware8099
@carlfaitware8099 7 месяцев назад
All those rocks do is move the erosion somewhere else. But the billionaires who occupy seafront Osterville homes can do whatever they want. The rules don't apply to them, and they really don't care if their actions are detrimental to the environment or other people. I guess that's their twisted, sociopathic interpretation of capitalism.

@alanCalhoun2 It’s like Florida. The old insurance was fine. Everything will transition. Once a storm comes, things change. More growth (which maine has experienced and is experiencing) - it never has been government based insurance as far as I know.
