What stood out to me the most in this video, is that “George Lopez” joke about the two rules in a Latino’s household, that was truly heartbreaking for me to hear 💔😢 and after hearing the that, I’m slowly not feeling him anymore as a comedian but I do wish him all the best in all his future endeavors in life. Ps: Black folks can never catch a break no matter what And I hope one day Latino’s understand you all are not “white” and when there is no blacks for the whites to pick on you all do fall into the category of being discriminated (I’m just saying).
Don’t know why you’re so upset about GL not being able to marry black bc I tell my girls all the time that they can’t bring them and the whytes home either. Not even allowed to have them as friends. I’m more than positive I’m not the only one.
Wow. Why can't they have them as friends? Sometimes we're so worried about the "other" that we fail to recognize how God can use them to help us. You're worried about the other when the person who may betray you, is one of your own. Thank God that God isn't like us!
Sheryl has a lonely heart and she acts out on the premise that she is not well liked by others, she probably beats herself up mentally. We all need to feel loved. ❤️
Look I'm not a fan of cancel culture so with the Sharon ozburn thing I didn't think it was racist just her protecting a friend because that's Sharon's M.O And that's being a BITCH. I think he was more upset that she dumped him and plus made the palace look bad.Underwood should have put her in her place not cried stood your ground friend or not and let her ass have it.
I doubt she beats herself up mentally, because she's STILL of the belief that Black is wrong and/or inferior. She's too old to be so damned ignorant. She just counts her money and continues to believe ANYTHING BUT BLACK is right.
You have to give love to receive it , it’s a two way street and just because u don’t feel loved at a certain time in your life that doesn’t give you right to do and say hurtful things, if she is GOD fearing she would of prayed and maybe waited or realized that GOD is working and will send love her way but he will send genuine love not FAKE LOVE!! … AND IF U PLAY THE VICTIM AFTER YOU FUCKED UP !! Darling GOD still is working on you !!! Maybe he is waiting on her to GET RIGHT , NO NEED TO GET LOVE IF SHE AINT READY TO RECEIVE IT , she won’t know true love if she ain’t ready !!! AND IM NOT SAYING THIS BE SHADY , I believe in GOD for sure but I just don’t through GOD into everything I NEED TO START GOING TO CHURCH MYSELF!! And ur comment was true indeed Im not all disputing it I agree with u 💯!!!! ALL THAT MONEY AND MOST CELEBRITIES ARE JUST MISERABLE !!!
If you look back at Underwood's early days in comedy on BET, even her comedy screamed LOW SELF-ESTEEM. So it's not surprising to hear her comment about the hair. Self- hate is a REAL thing. 💔
I watched them all on Comic View regularly. I don't think BET paid them on time when Mr. Johnson owned it. No wonder she feels as she does. It's understandable because the owner didn't believe that they were worth paying them on time. It was a running joke. It didn't have to come up if it was not true.
One can feel some sympathy 4 Sharon Osborne. Since the real truth came out that she tried apologizing alot to Sheryl who supposedly dismissed & didn't mention this.
She deserved it! Many people to this day think kinky hair is "nasty!" Yet can't tell you what about it is nasty. She sat there on national TV and perpetuated a stereo type, a stereo type that is the cause of a law having to be passed to allow black women to wear their natural hair to work without being discriminated against. Sometimes we're our own worse enemy.
@@choconethotcoco4717 I really don't believe she think she is apart of the "We" or " Us." As far as I'm concerned, she can take her Republican Vote and beat it somewhere !
I’ll never forget her joke about natural black hair saying don’t nobody want to save little nappy black kids hair and she had to come back and apologize I was over her then. Goodbye Sheryl 👋🏾 And the fact that she tried to come on that show without her “silky” wig was like stop gaslighting! You would have never come out without that weave if not for the backlash!! Stand in it and stop back tracking…We know how you feel for real sis. Jokes a lot of time are how people honestly feel.
@@mzTayTay17 agree with the not thinking...but what about the maternal... did she not have a mother who saved her hair? This may be deep. J S.. Like to ask her opinion on keeping baby teeth... she may faint...
Deep comment. You can be so hated in society that the hate rubs off on yourself. I don't like to see self hate, but we as a people can't avoid it. Sad. All we can do is be conscious of it and introspective to correct it when it rears it's head.
Sheryl Underwood is a doppelganger for Arsenio Hall especially in that scene in Coming to America, where Arsenio dressed up as a woman who tried to chat up the King of Zamunda and she that he/she will tear him and is friend apart
Sheryl is always over talking Lol We All Know Sister's Like Her In The Hood. But No Matter How Bad People Talk About Her Or Dislike Her, She Gets More And More Messier 🤣🤣
I learned awhile back from another talk show host who kept getting messier, that ppl like them seek attention, and no matter if it's negative attention so long as ppl are watching them. That is a weak vessel, with a psyche issue, that I have no time for, because I don't need a weak link in the chain.
She seems like a sweetheart and she’s very beautiful but I believe she truly has internalized racism/colorism/featurism issues and I understand bc the way darker skinned plus size black woman with strong Afrocentric features are always condemned and made to feel inferior but I feel the talk just exposed more of those issues to the forefront
Checkout the film, "Darkskinned Girls on Colorism"(watch the segment on the colorful babydolls)& you will see how people really view darkskinned people and checkout a "visit California", ad, today??? 🤔 Are any darkskinned black people on it...?? I live here...🙋🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️. Thats why Sheryl Underwood...speaks the way she does about colorism/featurism, too. Im surprised...how tough her skin is...cause many black women would have given up, a longtime ago.
Sheryl understands what role she has to play to keep her job and stay in the good graces of who pays her. She’s a little to good at it but most ppl like her are. Sharon is no saint but I love how she stone face in every clip because I suspect Sharon had her number all along.
Rappers say worse every day and nobody is cancelling them. They don't issue apologies either. I'm not a big Sheryl fan but she hasn't said anything so egregious that her career should be cancelled. A lot of stuff she's said is what we say to each other in private but won't admit it.
Rappers are expected to say the most egregious stuff What to expect from them is what we already know To be a non rapper making egregious comments is unacceptable, especially on a platform where you’re the loud overweight “Black” woman making these comments sitting around a bunch of non “Blacks” in the audience, that live off of stereotypes🤦🏽♀️ Please stop comparing this bs to “RAP” tf 🙄😒
Rappers are in different seats. Most are not Educated like her. U expect more from someone sitting in a seat every day. With people watching around the world. U have a duty a Standard. Of high expectations from your people. The one's who came before u. And the one's that will come after u.
@@daddyyooh702 Correct!! A lot of rappers are college graduates, no excuse - They’re still not held to the same standard as a talk show host, this is what people must understand The only similarity is the choice of turning something off or on!
I was never really a friend but when she said what she said about Hedi klum keeping her babies hair I was disgusted. It was coonin at its finest and they’re was no misunderstanding. She think straight hair is beautiful. You can tell by those wigs she wears.
I still don't believe those female comedians went at Sheryl like that because they're all way too opinionated about everything. 👀🤔Wow I didn't know G Lopez was that person.
@@tanya45096 well he was telling the truth about many Mexicans. I had two good Mexican friends tell me, both at separate times from one another. That many Mexicans DEPISE Black people. 🤷🏾♂️
I still don’t understand what Sharon did to be fired from the voice she didn’t say or do anything to offend anyone Cheryl brought the conversation up when it had nothing to do with her and if Sharon was going to be fired I believe they both should have been especially Cheryl she was the conversation starter and Sharon said nothing wrong Cheryl got away with it WHY?!!
What makes me angry is I've noticed that my black people feel that the darker they are the more they have a pass or *right* to get in front of the world and say bad things about their entire race and what Sheryl Underwood did is a prime example of how that can backfire.
I don't think she be realizing what she saying. Sometimes I think she just be talking. You can save hair. Well someone lying about something. They must be really can't stand Sheryl. If someone believes she had PTSD cause of a argument is crazy..!! Sheryl seems like a pathological liar. Seems like she thinks telling the truth is worse than lying. The things we learn about some of these celebrities are really sad & horrible..!!
She is a nice person. Two of my girlfriends and I were in a club in Chicago and Sheryl was there. We said hello to her, she bought all of us drinks and we talked a took a pix. Just regular people. We had a good time. She said that was her favorite Chicago club, The Family Den.
What George Lopez said was true. Can't be mad. Comedy comes from life. I had a Latina friend who's grandfather didn't like black people. I got to hang out at his home with her and he realized some things and loved me. In comedy, everyone gets to speak their truth. What we have to do is stop glorifying entertainers and be the light for ourselves.
Amen!!! I agree wholeheartedly!!! I don't look to celebrities or anybody else to validate or encourage me!!! I do like the gospel song says: encourage myself!!!
What Sheryl did to Sharon Osborne was horrible. For Sheryl to say she is the one that suffers from PTSD seems a bit much. Sharon was a good friend to Sheryl who clearly didn't deserve that friendship. I would never trust her again.
I am not a big fan of Sheryl Underwood but she can be too full of herself especially with her sexual innuendo vulgar talks. Plus her "Nappy Hair" talk is way out of line especially for those people who used Afro hair as a cultural statement back in the day.
400 years and counting of psychological assault internally and externally. It will never end, so don't be surprised any longer and protect yourself and your children's mental health.
Let’s not be mad at George Lopez. Be glad that he exposed his real self and how him and his kind of people really feel about black people. Now you know not to fuck with him and them anymore. Stop advocating for people that never advocated for you in the first place. Stop putting money in their damn pockets too. Now as far as Sheryl Underwood, she meant what she said about the “natural hair/silky hair” she was just sorry of the backlash, but those are her real feelings, which she’s entitled too. Just some things didn’t need to be said in public. However that conference conversation definitely happened even Sommore confirmed it. What purpose would that have served Sheryl to make that up? Adele Givens may not have been the one talking about her, but you can tell that Sommore has. She made it clear that she doesn’t like her.
Sheryl is FOS about calling into zoom early and hearing the conversation…. Anyone who has used Zoom knows that’s not how it works. If you “call in early” and the receiver isn’t ready, you’re waiting in the waiting room for the receiver to “pick up “. Look at Sarah’s face…she knows this is BS.
It just amazes me how one of color has taken this long to accept the beauty of being black. Our hair was always beautiful. It's about knowing how to maintain its health. No matter the length, it's beautiful naturally when well maintained
Why do I see people in the comments pressed about what GL said yet y'all saying your kids better not bring no white people home...we will never get rid of racism like that. We are ALL Gods children...but with that being said, God help anyone that ever treats my grandson bad just because he is part white or part black because I will be happy to pray for them as I lay hands on them... 💅 I said what I said
i cant lie i was hurt by the hair comment all of it but understood thats how the system is made for us non whites to hate ourself its really hurtful, that's one reason i dont really like the idea of weeg cause it sends the message that u are not pretty enough and u need someones hair to make u pretty its just bad
I'm a 56 year old black woman who has had long hair my whole life, below my shoulders, I now cut my hair off 2 to three times a year, the style is called Ceazer I think,it's almost bald, I have no intentions of letting it grow back. Most of my friends, an family members asked if I was having a nervous breakdown, they didn't understand why I would cut my hair off, an not let it grow back. It's sad in our community, that so much stock is placed on looks, hair type,an skin color. I think for my sisters who may not be that attractive, this is a huge issue for them, an it's so sad.
As a lighter black skinned woman most black women in gender have colorism issues when it comes to hair. Although I don’t understand the statement because my grandmother saved my little brothers first hair cute. I’ve never cut my sons hair he will be 7 this year but when he plans to cut it I will be saving it
I agree with another one of the people who commented that Cheryl has a lonely heart. We don't know the painful part that she is keeps close to the vest, but I'm willing to bet that people have said things to her about the way she looks since she was a child. She's a wounded soul, but I hope that she finds value in herself and never allows neither a man nor woman to degrade her. I believe that she was on that call and they didn't know it, can you believe how shocking it was to hear three other black women that you wanted to work with? Disparaging you like that. Here are four black women that could have worked together and straight cleaned up, money wise. I disagree with her regarding George Lopez, he is a jackass!!
Whelp, I believe Sheryl 100%. It's not so far-fetched that Walter Lathan told her there might be space on the tour & to call in, & then ultimately she heard the other ladies bad mouthing her BEFORE her part of the call began! We do that on Zoom calls but at least we can shut it down, when we see the persons NAME pop up!!! Meanwhile, while only I've briefly heard of Sy'more (sp?), I'm not familiar this Adele or Laura - so BOOM!!!!!! 💣 Sheryl is still winning! PS: Sheryl's childhood broke my heart too when she said her mother LIED & told her that her father murdered her twin sister & then the mother stabbed the father in a fit of rage, after she knew the TRUTH. Mommy Dearest was sick. :(
I can respect growth. Some of Sheryl’s comedy in the past was rooted in anti-Blackness, but it came off as us laughing amongst ourselves in our community, but she kept some of those same jokes moving into a predominately white mainstream career. She could have easily doubled down and shucked and jived for white audiences, but she actually learned, grew, and apologized to our community and continued to uplift issues impacting Black people. I can respect her for that.
I find her to be someone who is a follower and will turn on her own if the boss tells her to. In other words I wld nvr trust her to have my back if I were a friend. I get that vibe from her ten fold.
I have my son's ponytail from his first haircut in a Ziploc bag, and I am a BW🙄...She has no children, so she doesn't know what sentimental value is when ut comes to your children...
It's so sad how black celebs and athletes do each other so bad behind the scenes then turn around and publicly air out their differences!!!! Does anyone want to take any tea to the grave or crematory with them...I mean really?!?!?!?!?!?
Personally, I don't know why anyone would get offended by someone making it known that their family or race has no interest in someone like you and others from your race. That just sounds like a desperate insult that goes no where. Folk should be ecstatic when a person or whatever group of persons show their ass. It's not like you're missing out on someone/whatever group of "amazing" someone's that knows and understands how to love. Shit, the reality of experiencing loveless individuals should really make your day. As you won't have to waste your time aiming to figure this and that out, only to receive and experience what was blatantly obvious.
John Leguizamo (very, very talented and under-rated) Once shouted-out "How many of my black people are in the audience" response: crickets. Not to speak for an entire group but I can guess LatinX can forget the B.A. support period. Controversy is not what's keeping Cheryl employed it's her self-hatred and anti-blackness. BTW" Uncle Tom helped B.A. It was Sambo who was hurting B.A. Everybody is looking for a come-up on black people's necks.
I never liked George Lopez anyway. He's not funny to me. But I'll always like Sheryl. Can't stand Sharon or Kelly Osborne. They've both come out with racist shit.
I notice that when the Talk comes on, all the other hosts walk to the front of the audience and give the hand shakes and high fives greeting the audience but Cheryl always walks up on the stage.
I am not a fan of her. People who have confrontations on a regular basis with anyone clearly has a low image of themselves and have a history of making others feel bad. This is just my personal opinion.
She humbled very much me and a friend went to see her at j.anthony brown comedy club she came out the restroom stood talked with us a good minute no guards just before doing her act she was so nice and she was in natural hair she treated us very nicely
Sheryl is a comedienne so with that being said it's no holds barred. Don't become a victim because that's what a person perceives of you. Sis got a new contract so someone ain't too butt hurt about her. I do question the supposed lies though but let's move on.
@@dinkyboss agreed. Upholding ppl in their wrong just because they’re black and or women (comedian or not) does more harm than good for all groups of ppl as a whole. Some things are just in poor taste.
@@yescarycan I don't think so either. I wish she had recorded it. But Sommore said the call did happen, but I knew they were lying even before she said that.
Nobody that looks like her wrights her checks so of course nobody's butthurt by what she said. Let her talk about the people in that alphabet car or the people who Nick Cannon disrespected then you'll see who's butthurt. You saw what happened to Whoopi. 😆
Hold up.. yes Sheryl is loud and sometimes over the top but Sommore already acknowledged that conversation did happen so let tell the whole truth and shame that devil.. I love all if these brilliant Queens of comedy the ones we saw on stage together and the others who've found success elsewhere..Sheryl can be Too Much but what comic isn't? I've heard male comics call black women baldheaded b*tches and never had to publicly apologize so what's this really all about?
@@choconethotcoco4717 no I don't believe Sheryl suffers from self hatred not at all she thought she could have a moment as a comic at the expense of whoever she was talking about,, she forgot she was sitting in a room full of white folks and paid for her poor decision,, she isn't the only Americanized African person who said something publicly that went bad.. We have to stop trying to drag one another in public IT'S NOT A GOOD LOOK
