@@fluxszsgobert is also on the best defensive team on the league and his stats are benefitting greatly just by being around people like jaden mcdaniels ant kat naz reid kyle anderson etc. while wemby is really the only elite defender on his team at this point other than maybe sochan and hes single-handedly keeping his teams defense afloat and has to do quite literally everything on the floor for them. He’s dragged all over the court having to make up for mistakes that his teammates commit yet he STILL has the 2nd best defensive rating and is only 2% behind rudy in opposing fg% (very small difference) using these advanced metrics it’s so easy to see how big of an impact wembys making on his team not to mention the eye test seeing how many people pass up layups and other usually open shots just purely due to wemby. his impact is so insanely unique that rudy just can’t hope to replicate it and NEEDS elite perimeter players around him to even be able to function right. It really should be wembys award.

No shot did the Spurs had a chance to win a ring this year. Wemby had a slow start and their rooster still needs some work. But they might make the playoffs next year if they have a good window, and then the following year maybe they might be challenging we will see ☺️

For me it’s the fact that so many times, he’ll be double teamed or triple teamed on a fast break and they will be too scared to shoot only because of him. Absolutely no other team or player is causing that type of reaction in the league.
