I just bought one a month before hurricane IDA came in Louisiana. And this thing is a beast of power, it ran my entire home central air-conditioning plus 2 chest freezers and my kitchen refrigerator and all other appliances. On gasoline. Just ordered a natural gas regulator to run off on. I highly recommend this generator to all. 1 full tank at 6.6 gallons ran for 12 hours none stop before refills for 7 days none stop. I love it
Seriously??? We're recovering from Ida also. Just recieved 1 of 2 after poor performance from Ryobi and everything else stocked at our home depot and Lowe's. Central and other appliances???
Hey dirty D. I just got mine. I think I saw your review on another site being able to run your A/C is a nice bonus. Can you provide a link about where you got your natural gas hook-up and if you made a video? Thanks!
Those red brackets are making the motor frame rigid on the front. If you take them off as per the instructions the motor mounts will work per design and absorb the motor vibration.
We bought the same generator as an emergency power source and plan to install a connection to our home. It just came in today so hopefully we won't have any major weather again until I get the house kit installed or it's going to be a spaghetti of extension cords. Thanks for the review!
⚠️Generator safety rules: Always make sure you follow all the generator safety rules before using your portable generator. This is only a reminder. Generators can be dangerous if not used carefully. Every year, hundreds of people die or get injured when using portable generators due to carbon monoxide poisoning and electrocution. Make sure you are using your generator carefully and keeping others safe as well. There is something very serious that everyone should always be aware of when using generators. Some people do run their generator indoors which is not safe and that increases the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning which can cause death of family and you. Some people run their generator in wet conditions which can electrocute them. Please remember that you should never run your generator indoors. Remember that carbon monoxide is an odorless and colorless gas that you cannot see or smell. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer. Keep that in mind. Make sure your generator is 15-20 feet away from your house and away from doors, windows, and vents. Never use your generator in your porch too. Having a carbon monoxide detector is very important against generator safety. Some people also allow children to go near the portable generator which could pose risks. We need to keep an eye on our children making sure that they are not near the portable generator so they won’t get electrocuted or burned by the generator which is dangerous. A locking enclosure also keeps kids safe. A generator shed might look like a tempting place to explore, or take cover during a game of hide and seek, but a generator is a dangerous piece of equipment that can cause injury. It says on the manual that we should also keep children away at all times from the portable generator to avoid injuries. Please do not allow a child or unqualified people to operate the portable generator. It is important to keep your children safe especially little ones. The portable generator can be hot during an operation. Just because some manuals missed what should be listed doesn’t mean it’s safe to do. Always follow the generator safety rules when using portable generators. Generators pose electrical risks. If you need to use your generator during wet weather, you need a generator tent to protect your generator from getting wet. Don’t let your generator get wet. Keep your generator dry and before using your generator, please make sure your hands and your generator is dry. Do not wear loose clothing when operating the generator. Everything that is said on the generator’s operating manual should not be ignored. Never smoke cigarettes near the generator. Please keep flammable things away from the generator. Never overload your generator too. Your generator can catch fire. Never ever try to plug a generator cord into a wall outlet to avoid back feeding. Back feeding your generator is dangerous. Always turn on your generator first before plugging in appliances and shut off the appliances before turning your generator off. Use a heavy duty cord for your generator and the cord should not be worn out. All the instructions should be followed carefully. Never refuel your generator while it’s running. It can cause fire if fuel spills while your generator is hot. You should turn off your generator and let it cool off before refueling it. Having a fire extinguisher next to the generator is also important. This is only a reminder for everyone’s safety of using generators. Make sure your generator is properly grounded. Having a fire extinguisher next to the generator is also important against the safety rules. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I1jT3ANENvI.html and here is a video more about keeping others safe when using generators and also about our family’s safety. It’s important to keep our little children safe as well. Make sure they’re away from the generator. Hope this helps.
I bought one just like this about a year ago. We just got hit by hurricane ida in south Louisiana. We have now been without power for almost 3 weeks and my wen is going strong. I run 2 fridges all my lights a freezer and a 4ton central air. And wash clothes all at the same time. I did just order a natural gas kit for it to replace the propane side
I just bought a brand new WEN DF11000T as cheap insurance during uncertain times. Since I live only a couple of miles from the WEN warehouse in West Dundee IL, I saved $100 and picked it up. Susan there helped me through the unique pick-up purchase process. I will open the box to make sure nothing is missing, but my plan is to keep it in it's box without oil, without fuel, inside my house where temps are consistent and controlled which is better than warehouse storage. If one day a crisis arises, I'll hook it up to my house and have enough energy to get water up from my deep 520 foot private well, along with powering up everything else in the house as needed. Hopefully doomsday in any form won't come and this affordable insurance policy will never be exercised.
Just a hint. You don't have to torque the propane hose like you did. Finger tight will do trust me on that. strip those threads and your into a $150 repair.
I recently purchased one of these generators it works great I made a Troy fuel I added natural gas to it with a regulator that will support natural gas being used works great
Everyone should own a portable generator. We have record breaking weather every year. And to many people reli on the grid. Everything in a modern day home runs on electricity. Everyone should be more self reliant and stop trusting the government grid.
Nice generator. Wished more Americans was more self reliant. I have 2 portable generators and 1 is propane. You can't go wrong with propane your generator will last longer and you can stock pile it for 30 yrs without treating it like gasoline.
Haha I came here to see this too! I was like oh no I DID remove them as instructed but worried me for a minute that I saw them on his. Guess he should read those instructions lol
FYI, if it won't start with fuel in it, good plug, fresh gas. Try removing the fuel drain from the carburetor, then replace and wait 10minutes. They seem to have a carb float problem that will prevent startup until you break it loose.
I bought one of these recently. I'm planning on getting a Generlink to connect it to the house. If you get something with this much power you'd be a fool not to use it's full potential. Otherwise you're just burning gas and wasting money. Edit: Yes this is an approved generator for a Generlink.
let's say you're running it on gasoline. can you use that selector valve and turn it OFF to both propane and gas? I ask because I like to turn off the gasoline while it's running to remove all the gas out of the carb before I store it for a long period of time. thanks & Cheers from Louisiana.
Hello and thanks for the video, I just order the exact WEN 11,000 today (Home Depot) will get it in about a week. My question is what are the dimensions? Height , length, width? again thanks Mike
The height is 25 inches, the width is 30 inches and the length is 27 inches and 1/4. All dimensions are with the handles down and wheels included. I would add a few inches to all dimensions if you are building a quiet box for it.
My main concern is having something I can plug my water pump into. Unless I pop for about $8000 in solar battery gennies, gas/dual fuel, is the only way to go.
It's hard to remember everything I looked at because it was alot. I didn't take this purchase lightly. The factors that played a role in my purchase were load capacity, being able to use different fuel sources, it had to have 240v and 30amp outlets, and of course the price. As I plan to use a welder with this generator, I also want it to use as a backup for loss of power for my house and to use for my camper trailer. My advice for you is to find out what you need it for and features you require to aid in your purchase of a generator. I hope this helps you in your decision. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Not sure if you got one yet, but I've done a lot of research and narrowed it down to this one and the Westinghouse 9500DF The Westinghouse has even better reviews than the Wen, but costs just a little more. I'm still trying to decide. Good luck!
@@godfamilyhomestead oh ok I thought one of them had to be 50amp for transfers witch I saw someone remark some where you can't get the plug above tire to plug in right. Im so confused on generator wen or champion I was just out of power for 5bdays andv39 degrees inside I just want to get whats best for me and possibly switch
Look into a generlink. If your power company allows it to be connected its a cheaper route to go. The WEN 11,000 is compatible to use. The Champion, I'm sure will work but make sure you get one with enough power. There is a list of approved generators on their website. I hope you find the right generator for yourself.
@@nobytes2 Not totally correct Bytes the 30 amp plug is only 120 volts on this unit. Commonly used for RVs which only run on 120volts period. The above person is correct. For that case just plug in an exteniton cord into one of the outlets you would get the same outcome.. Most generators will have a 120/240 30 amp 4 wire plug. The 30 amp plug on this one will not run anything that is 240 volts period. A true 30 amp generator cord is a 120/240 4 wire twist lock type made for interlock kits that back feed your electrical panel installed somewhere outside on your home.
I haven't been able to use it since the video. I have alot going on with work and issues with my leg. I am going to be using it alot soon though. I suggest getting a warranty with this kind of a purchase.
