Apple capital of the world... Downtown summer cycling circuit races is so thrilling, when I lived there I watched from my balcony. East Wenatchee is where alot of the Apple orchards are, Up towards EAT airport. Did they ever put in that traffic circle in East Wenatchee? On Wenatchee side, walking the foot bridge over the train tracks to the Columbia river waterfront park was my favorite, the sunrises were out of this world.
I was just watching this would like to visit Wenatchee it's a pretty town so clean even go on Google maps searching for certain places doing street views see how the town looks might take a visit there one day thanks for doing a tour.
Great video, these are really cool. Would it be possible to put a small map in the corner, even a screen recording of your nav map, so we have a better idea of where you are?
Thanks for posting this. I've always been curious about Wenatchee because my Uncle Henry owned and operated an orchard there back in the day. Beautiful views in every direction!
My Grandpa had an apple orchard in East Wenatchee back in the day. My other Grandpa owned a small mom'n'pop store in Wenatchee. It was great seeing this video!
Wenatchee is pretty in winter. Summer it's pretty parched aside from the cherry orchards. It's a "dated" town -- many of the homes in Wenatchee proper are pretty aged. The downtown along the waterfront reminds me of Vancouver, Hwy 99 -- uninspiring. Seems quiet though; hard to judge since this was obviously filmed during the height of COVID lockdowns. I'm considering moving out of Vancouver and over east of the Cascades, mainly to get away from Portland but also for the dry air and crystal clear skies. Just gotta find the right spot. I'd prefer a town close to the foothills of the Cascades so that in the summer the hot sun sets sooner in the evenings -- plus I like living among the conifers in a more-or-less "alpine" setting ("alpine" minus the high elevation). Not into parched or flat landscape. Wenatchee is on the hairy edge of that.
Town is deep in a valley. Summers are hot and smokey due to seasonal wildfires. Air quality is worse than L.A. Entire area is brown in the summer. There are a few small towns between Wenatchee and Leavenworth that might fit your bill.
I graduated in 75 . Most of my memories were great. Lived on methow street before it was little tiajuana and had a great childhood there. Sorry about yours 😢
@@nattybaddie8096 There are a few blocks in the middle of the residential area that are a little more gang-y, but besides that it’s decent, and there’s not a lot of crime.
@@nikkia8259 Wenatchee's population is 1/3 Hispanic, which keeps growing. It would be weird if "it" (the whole town?) was racist. Diversity increases distrust however. These areas are getting worse and worse because of it.
Grew up not far from Wenatchee. We would drive down there to the mall once every couple of weeks. Always loved that town...especially around Apple Blossom time.
