Very nicely done fairest review I’ve probably ever seen someone do of a competitors product, which speaks volumes. That railing is brilliant would be really great for fishing!
Nice positive review. Wenonah has great dedicated-purpose hulls for speed or stability but for all-around use they are lacking. Northstar may not have a solo as fast as a Voyager or as stable as a Basswood but what they do have is more versatile and in my mind more thoughtfully designed for what most people need. Same thing with tandems and triples. Every canoe is a compromise, nothing can do it all. Northstar seems to hit a lot of sweet spots.
I grew up near Wenonah Canoes and paddled them growing up. At 18 years old I paddled a Bell solo and that single experience changed my life! Agreed that they are inspired designs! 😃🛶
Those are great boats - old town pack. I always wanted one. Have a Mad River freedom 14 for my solo canoe. It is light, responsive, and real nice to paddle rivers with.
What PFD were you using? I've been waiting for an Astral Sturgeon to come into stock - that one looks similar. Also, would love to hear you review a Hemlock canoe. Not exactly your backyard, I know. Love your videos.
@@HappyPaddlin ready to pick up a Hemlock Peregrine in a few weeks. Dave Curtis is a very knowledgeable guy and I feel good about buying a boat from such a renowned builder.
I'm a kayak guy, but I've always admired the Wenonah boats that I've seen over the years. The carbon Bending Branches paddle looks great! Weight? (I'm considering a single blade backup paddle) Thanks for the review!
