@@JaysStraightUpReviews its pretty good at everything, not perfect. Im not a hip hop fan anyway, but its clear in the mids and highs as ling as you eq it right
I would just like to note, this is the 2nd generation model. I have both the 2nd and 1st generation model. I find that the 1st generation has more battery life. The 2nd generation is setup for more bass with the bass boost, but the 1st generation generally has a higher quality sound. BUT, most importantly, the mic input on the 1st generation is completely transparent, great for guitar or any sound source that you want to have total control over. The mic input on the 2nd generation is VERY colored, with built in echo, reverb, and a volume gate that is NOT removable (basically made for karaoke and will NOT sound good with a guitar). Overall, I highly recommend buying a used 1st generation if you want a higher quality product. Also, there is NO manual available for either. And as far as I can tell, the "reset" button doesn't seem to really do anything except turn the product off. Thanks!
@@levilewelling I have the 1st gen and 2nd gen and YES, they will pair together via bluetooth in a stereo configuration (left and right). However, if you are playing guitar or doing anything that requires zero lag, keep in mind it's not ideal as there is a slight lag and decrease in quality when using bluetooth.
This one or the JBL encore (rv/birthday party)? I will need to use a microphone and my son just started playing the guitar. Thanks. Update - so my grandmothers 90th birthday was a success and I used this speaker. It was just loud enough as I had two big fans running near the speaker. Yes I highly recommend and would buy again do to the price, portability and ease of use.
Possibly, but I think the results wouldn't be promising. There is a pretty big difference in impedance between guitar jack and mic jack. On speakers like the JBL Partybox 310 there are two jacks for mics, but one can be used for guitar and has a button on it to turn it to guitar or mic impedance. The ENcore Essential and Onn Medium 2 only have a mic jack, no button to switch it to guitar.
@@JaysStraightUpReviews do you know of a medium sized speaker that has both guitar and mic that sounds as good. I’m limited on space so i this would be ideal. Plus the church hall is cozy and my grandma is delicate if you know what I mean. Budget of $200
Hello, do you recommend this speaker from the video? Does it have good audio quality? Do you have good bass? It cost me $100 dollars. I don't know if I made a good purchase. 😓
Man, never ever thought of comparing these two speakers since they are so different.😆 Flip 6 is a small hand-held speaker, so if you need something like that it's a great option.
I have a lot at any given time. I do sell some of them, other wise I would be totally overrun with speakers. I did destroy one with a hammer 😂and made a video on it.
The bass is okay, but it doesn't have any real deep bass capability. I think when I was at walmart the other day they had these marked down to $71 or something like that.
So I have this exact model of speaker. My friend has the gen 1 version of this without a “pair” or “link” button. Can we still link them together somehow?
Yes you can but the gen 1 will sound far better and outshine the gen 2. You will especially see the difference when hearing vocals and guitar. The gen 1 will simply blow it out of the water.
@@JaysStraightUpReviewsexactly.. I'm not tempted by onn any more. My last onn speaker broke. Everything came apart. The charging port came apart, the bass blew out within a year. Onn is total trash
They have this one. www.walmart.com/ip/onn-Portable-FM-Boombox-with-LED-Lighting/1574078232?from=/search The design of the cabinet reminds me of the Tronsmart Bang.
I have a Soundboks 2 and Soundboks GO that I use at my job. I work outside mostly, so I just play it out of the back of my SUV. I don't use them when driving around.
Would you happen to have any recommendations for me? I'm looking for a speaker as big or bigger than this one. But with good loud bass under $125. Please tell me some recommendations.
If you live in America, the Skullcandy Barrel xt is still available at walmart.com for $79. That's probably the best deal going right now and it's about the size of the JBL Boombox 3.
If you're playing it on high volume which is likely, it lasted me about 3 or 4 hours on the bigger model I think. I did use the lights for maybe close to a couple of those hours the first time around. Second play on a fresh charge after letting it die completely and fully charging it, I played at same volume and less light time. Even with the less time with lights it didn't effect battery life much. It sounds good. Not impressive. I use it out doors paired to a projector. Sitting about 10 to 15 ft away you're gonna have have it still turned up higher. Sounds good for a affordable price. It's kinda so so when you factor in the practabilty of battery life. But you can always play it plugged in.
I have the gen one I thought it would be broken in a year gen ones cost 50 bucks now and to be honest the old one is ported and probably has better bass sound. So I’ll just get another gen 1 when it craps out
@@JaysStraightUpReviews well I just checked Walmarts site it is out of stock lol well I’m lucky I got one haha I’ve had it a year I’m just seeing when it will crap out
Atleast 2 years owned and i have not one complaint, not sure how i wound up here but was just looking on walmart for the double speaker one to keep in the house cause i left this one at work..lol
Even though I watch the video it actually doesn't let us know what the bass sounds like does the bass compare to the larger onn groove party box ? Interested in getting one just never heard how it sounds
I have to honest here. I have both and the build quality and sound are far superior on the old ones. The new ones sound like cheap flea market speakers in comparison. They went cheap on a component and ruined the sound, it's disappointing.
