I’m using those salt and pepper shakers for when I go to the beach/camping! Just got my advent calendar a couple of days ago and I really enjoyed that mini tool check plus with the ratchet head bit!

@@Mando98 I try to eat better and often all I can find in gas stations are maybe hard boiled eggs… so I’ve needed some shakers in my truck 👍

I brought the Wera calendar a couple of years back and thought some of it was quite poor quality, so didn't get one last year. This looks a little more interesting, I find I don't use most of what is in the check plus, so a cut down version would suit me.

That 1/4” ratchet looks pretty handy. Combined with a long 1/4” bit holder, it’s almost like having a VIM or Icon. And the Ochsenkopf sticker is pretty cool. I have a splitting axe from them. Gedore-Ochsenkopf makes good stuff. 👍

Interesting selection this year. Hopefully, Wera will sell the ratchet separately in the future. 711L micro ratchets are hard to come by in Europe.

Hey, they nabbed my idea!I have a 813 QR with a 711L micro ratchet. I use it with a 4mm hex bit for tensioning self-closing door hinges.

I just got mine a few days ago- I’m not 100% sure, but I believe the bits in this set are “bitortion” bits which means they should be impact rated (I have an impaktor set and those bits all have the same colored bands)- so in theory you can run these bits in an impact driver(unfortunately the sockets aren’t impact rated)

Your killing me I keep seeing it and wanting it more. That size case is something I'd actually use instead of the full size bit check. There gonna sell a ton of these for that baby rachet head and like you I'd replace my mini rachet. Bzeug did his video and it's hard to get the scale of thing but I'm used to the size of stiff on your bench. And yes the salt and pepper shakers are cute. I got rid of my bit handle completely off the bit check since it was almost useless to me. It's just plastic rivets that hopd it on and make it much smaller. As bzeug pointed out you can add add another socket too space wise.i may just need one if it's in the stars. This one us way more usable than past years that I could just pass on.

@@MattHmm-rq6dn I was thinking the same thing on the size, I keep the other bit check in my vest, but it’s really overkill on the bits as far as what I need on me. Mostly just stinks on the price

@@MORGANSMaintenancemy main reason on getting it was that the tool check plus had a lot of stuff that was not going to be useful to me and was to big. This was perfect seize and did not have sockets I won’t use. Here in Europe you can do almost anything with 8,10 and 13. So basically sometimes less is more. These advents are hit and mis year by year really have to see what’s in them to see if they are worth getting.

Hi, great video! Quick question: I'm a contractor wannabe (sort of what you do at least from what I see in your videos) and was wanting your opinion to know which should I buy, the tool check plus impererial (with SAE sockets) or the tool check plus metric like what you have? Do you use the metric sockets very much in your work, or in your specific work would SAE be more useful? In a previous video you mention that you bring the tool check plus metric with your vest; if you had only one to choose, would you put the imperial or metric in your vest? Obviously it would be best to have both, but with limited $ (like so many), I can only get one. Thanks so much. You can answer this more in a question-answer session.

@@WoodWorkerWannabe I would use SAE more, a subscriber did a trade with me and had an extra Metric is why I have metric. You can swap out sockets on them too with other 1/4” sockets if you need a mix to build your own. Hard to beat the small Makita Impact socket sets for the price

Whatever one you find at the lowest price go buy a makita socket rail set and pit them on there. Then you have both and at least if you get metric cheaper then sae impact rated from makita for an extra 10 to 15 dollars.

@@MORGANSMaintenance This will be the first Christmas I will consider buying a Wera advent calendar. It is particularly to my liking this year. I was considering making my own salt shaker out of their stubby driver until I seen this. I also like the micro ratchet. (BTW, 711L makes a very similar, tiny, bit-ratchet.) Thank you for making a video about this set.

If I had a spare $85, I might be a little more tempted, if only for the novelty, but I bought so many Kleins to get a great variety of bits that I really can't justify it. With Olight's fall promo, I finally got myself an Oclip (not here yet) and a free Sphere, which looks to be a lot like an Obulb but with Bluetooth control. Then I ordered a Wuben E7 and a Rovyvon A3, both also on specials. The A3 will replace the imini2 on my keychain.

Not worth 85.00, but you’re getting items that you cannot buy separately ( I assume) so sometimes you have to spend money on cool items. The 1/4” ratchet bit is really cool

Yea thoes mini rachets made for edc like that can run 30 to 40 dollars thr price especially you pay for something unique and actually useful.

How was it actually set up when you opened it? Normally, these have 24 to 25 punch outs, and like you said, I can't imagine you'd get a bit each day... I also the bit of thanks. 😂

I opened all the punch outs and got them out. Some of the days is just one bit. It’s typically just each little item

I didn’t see anything in the packaging or the box that gave a list of part numbers. I was looking for it before I tossed it. I will double check the actual head and if I find something I’ll let you know

Last year I wasn’t that interested, but I’m very torn so I think they did a good job on this one. I feel like the regular tool check gives you a little more bang for your buck. But dang though, I like the smaller size than the regular tool check.

I like the smaller size of it as well. It's small enough to fit comfortably in my pants pockets, but it still holds the most commonly used bits and sockets. For less than €50 it's reasonably priced.

I'm 100% a tool nerd and normally the audience for this, but this is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. The salt/pepper shaker is fun, but our wives would never allow these to make it to the dining table.
