TJ should have a case for MVP. He is the primary reason the Steelers are 7-7 instead of something like 2-12 right now. Unfortunately the rest of the team is either injured to hell or complete dogshit, so we're staring at our first losing season since 2003. It has been a miserable year for Pittsburgh sports.
@@raymondsantiago2411 it would make sense given that he’s single handedly won browns games before while getting triple teamed and held basically every single down
Another great video, extra special to me since it’s Steelers. Agree with one of the commenters here that the Steelers could have their own wing in the Hall of Fame - from the Steel Curtain to Blitzburgh, they have been known for their defense. Joey Porter is the name you missed. His son now plays for them. My favorite is Hines Ward, best blocking receiver, who redefined the roll of wide receiver to add blocking to their skill set.
@@tud21TJ did it in 15. Your point is irrelevant. Doesn’t matter if Strahan played the whole season, he had 16 games to break the sack record, and TJ did it in 15. If TJ did play the whole season, we wouldn’t even be talking about Strahan. But since you want to play that game, by your own logic, neither TJ or Strahan should be above Deacon Jones, because Deacon got 22 sacks in a 14 game season, while it took TJ and Strahan extra games. So Deacon Jones is Number 1.
I watched TJ terrorize my Buckeyes for years when he played for Wisconsin. He started at Wisconsin as a TE until two knee surgeries. He was not sure if he was going to be able to play football at all until talking to JJ about it. This is why he can catch the way he does.
I'm not a Steelers fan,, but I've always had a respect for the Steelers and the way they play. So many legendary defensive players have been career Steelers. Fun Fact: current head coach Mike Tomlin is only the 3rd different Steelers head coach since 1969!!
T J Watt is a menace of a player. He did surpass his brother this year with first 100 games sacks. 2021 he tied the nfl record of 22.5 sacks in a single season. TJ Watt is leading the nfl so far this season with most sack (16). He was on track with hitting the nfl record of most sacks in first 100 games (Reggie White got 105 sacks) But unfortunately TJ got injured and missed most of last year's season. Tj is currently at 93.5 in 101 games. He is for sure a DPOY runner up if not just going to win it. Many teams and coaches have talked about him being a game wrecker. The offense often has to make him a serious priority if not build the game plan around avoiding him.
TJ Watt is listed as a LB, but that is just how the Steelers do it. OLB typically play what most of the league calls Defensive End. Most of the time TJ will rush the passer, but also drops into coverage from time to time
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find a full vid of “Renegade” Steelers unofficial theme song, played at every game. EVERY player in the league knows of this!!! It’s awesome to watch and being in the stadium is even better. When Steelers need a jolt-play Renegade!!
JJ says definitely at this point that TJ is better. TJ claim his brother was his inspiration. They are an extremely supportive family of each other. And yes they have a 3rd (middle) brother - Derek- played in the NFL.
The 3rd brother-Derek also played for the Steelers for several years with TJ. Fullback or Halfback. The Joey they mentioned was Joey Porter- One of the toughest on D on any team. His son JP Jr. is currently on Steelers. Drafted out of Penn State.
As an avid steeler fan and frequent game attendee. (I live 45 mins from Pittsburgh) he single handily puts the whole team on his back and makes watching the last two years bearable. A complete beast.
He'll probably be the best Defensive player in decades, if not all time, when he's done. There are only a couple players in talks with him for the best and they're done playing.
me and my dad always say that we're not sure exactly what it is about T.J. He doesn't exactly stick out in terms of physique, (compared to other football players obviously) and I wouldn't exactly describe him as the fastest edge rusher I've ever seen. He's just a beast, a force of nature, and every snap he's putting the fear of God into the offensive line in front of him. He only has eyes for the sack.
10:00 the consensus currently is that JJ is better, but JJ is also retired (we have his full body of work), while TJ probably has a good 6-8 years left health pending. I and many others believe he will be the better player when he retires and his full body of work can be put on display. As a steelers fan, I have never seen someone change games the way he does from a position other than QB.
You need to do one more steeler video before moving on...its called "A steelers Story: Renegade". It is a guarentee chill up the spine video. This is something i know you both will really enjoy.
Opponents have to scheme their whole offense to even hope he dosen't wreck the game. Teams that have success against a LB of that talent (TJ is not the only one, but a prime example)adjust their blocking scheme, the QB stays in the pocket no deep drops (far to fast for that) and double team him and try to block him around a corner... easier said than done as you can see.
I have to be honest: I would shit myself if I were a QB lining up and saw TJ Watt across the line from me. I'd just lay down and give up right there. Please don't paste me, sir, you can have the ball. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields have to be so happy they no longer have to play against him, but with him now haha.
TJ Watt is one of the most dominant defensive players in the league for a team that has had some damn dominant defensive players. He may end up the best defensive player of all time.
watt got fined for the shooting guns thing forget how much tho. he is for sure a monster but if they double him we have great players on the other side that just are game wreckers too. we are called blitzburg for a reason
He had an interception this year against the Rams that is easily better than 20 or so of these plays. He also had a great interception against the Lions a couple years ago. Check those out.
TJ is Trent Jordan, JJ is Justin James, and there is a third brother, Derek John Watt who is a fullback who has played for the Charges and Steelers. Problem is, he goes by Derek and not DJ but that's not as much to buck the trend of his brothers but because DJ Tanner of Full House.
There’s no question, it’s JJ Watt. JJ should have won MVP in 2014, JJ was also voted #1 in the top 100 of 2015. He won 3 DPOY in 4 years. I feel like yall need to watch a better JJ Watt video than the one you reacted to. For some perspective JJ Watts double-team percentage is twice of TJs. The other brother is named Derek, he was a fullback but not sure he’s in the league still. Should have named him DJ Watt.
I hate to recommend another steeler but LeVeon Bell had his own run style no other runningback would stop moving like he did also just a recommendation but you guys should start looking at players career stats at the end of every video
It’s not really much of question right now but JJ Watt is the better of the brothers. TJ would have to play at a historic level for at LEAST 4 more seasons to get in that conversation and he’s already 29 so that’s asking a lot. JJ is retired and only 34 right now. If anyone disagrees they have simply just forgotten how absolutely dominant JJ was for nearly a decade and how injuries made him lose so much time. He was on track to be considered as dominant as LT.
I’d say tj is better given the fact that his ability to drop into coverage helps to separate them and you have to look at injuries can’t ignore them sadly jj dealt with them but tj is the better brother because of his diversity and ability to do all kinds of things at a high level
At what? Watt is ahead of him in every single category. He was even ahead of him in every category last year and they still gave the dpoy to Garrett lol
He started dabbling with psychedelics and they over took him it seemed like. He seem like that weird guy that talks about going out in a forest and talk to plants and animals and shit lmao, but he was an amazing receiver up until then
He is the best WR to ever do it imo. He doesn't have the career stats but he easily is the best WR of all time when you watch him play. No one comes close.
Too busy talking youse guys missed I think his best play number 2. Not sure youse realized how incredible of a play that was in real time. None the less cheers mates..Here We Go Steelers!
Just to add some context to a few of the clips: #15 and #14 were his first game of his rookie year. He had an incredible game. #7 was in overtime of that game. Very dramatic game that the Steelers won because of this play #5 was initially counted at a sack for Watt, which would have broken the single season sack record. It ended up not counting as a sack, but still noteworthy. Love your channel guys!
JJ says little brother TJ is better. The 3rd brother, Derek, was a fullback with the Steelers for a 3 seasons. No one picked him up when he became a free agent.
Steelers have the best uniforms, and best logo in the NFL, as well as 6 super bowl wins. Pittsburgh is by no means a huge city like like NY or LA or Chicago, but it has the biggest heart and fans. Anyone that goes to Pittsburgh will find the kindest, big-hearted people. If you ask directions, they will not tell you , they will say just follow me and I'll take you there.
In many schemes (usually 3-4 schemes) the Sam linebacker's role is closer to that of a traditional defensive end. The end comes down and the Sam LB is on the line in a 3 pt or 2 pt stance, rushing from the edge.
The Watt brothers all have a J name for their middle initial though the middle brother doesn't go by a two letter nickname. JJ Watt is Justin James Watt. Derek John Watt is the middle brother. He was a FB in NFL for a decent time with Chargers and a few with Steelers. TJ Watt is Trent Jordan Watt. Crazy thing is good as JJ and TJ are in the NFL neither were heavily recruited coming out of high school. They are from Wisconsin. JJ only scholarship was to Central Michigan as a TE. After his freshman year he chose to walk-on at the University of Wisconsin as a Defensive End. He became a 1st round pick, multiple DPoY and future HOF. TJ Watt did get a scholarship to Wisconsin since his brother had a relationship with the head coach. He was also a TE. He went to Wisconsin in 2012 but due to injury and being a TE didn't play at all. In summer of 2015 he ask to switch to defense. 2016 he was a 1st team All-American and then drafted by Steelers in 1st round of 2017. Honestly it is the Watt's work ethic that makes them so damn good. TJ was really raw from technique aspect in his first year on defense at Wisconsin but he worked a lot with JJ in the off-seasons. TJ will likely also be a HOFer by end of his career. They are the only brothers to have both won a Defensive Player of the Year Award.
I am a huge Steelers fan TJ is my favorite player in the league and he is amazing but JJ WAS DIFFERENT in my opinion JJ is probably the 2nd best defensive player of all time behind only Lawrence Taylor
