I think Val puts Bucky as a way of saying "look, we have an Avenger that can put anyone in its place so we won't be doing anything bad" but it's just a front so she can get away with whatever she wants. At least that's what I'm hoping for
I'm actually excited about Bucky, because I was hoping to get Bucky and Yelena on a team together. I think they would bounce off each other beautifully.
Shocked you guys didn't like Werewolf by Night more than you did. I thought it looked incredible. And that last scene? I was geeking out over the shadow of the werewolf changing behind that girl.
Secret Invasion is pretty awesome!! Love Werewolf By Night is pretty incredible cinematically!! For Thunderbolts they did say at Comic Con we've not met them all and now they've shown them we've met them all that they announced so I'm expecting more Thunderbolts with Songbird etc. Hopefully they didn't show Abomination is going to show up for end of She Hulk which is why they didn't and now I'm seeing people saying Zemo may appear as Citizen V costume!! Werewolf By Night should have Blade cameo now since Elsa Bloodstone is in it a fellow monster hunter!! Interesting to know how he gets his curse since the Darkhold was destroyed
Other than the one Thor tie in nothing in the first few seasons of agents of shield dated it. Maybe that box we saw open was a project Tahiti box…. Has clark Gregg been on set? Also some of the skrulls know young agent coulson
The trailer for Werewolf by Night reminds me of the 1974 horror movie "The Beast Must Die", with a group of people invited to a secluded location to determine which of them is secretly a werewolf. The difference here is that the suspects are apparently all monster hunters themselves rather than normal people.
@@artry93 Second the vote for _Captain Kronos!_ A great film, combining "monster horror" with swashbuckling action. A huge pity the collapse of the studio prevented them from producing a series, as they had intended. Another recommendation would be _The Devil Rides Out,_ a supernatural mystery-thriller, with the great Christopher Lee as the *hero(!)* Based on a novel by the leading supernatural author, Dennis Wheatly, Lee fights against cultists, Satanism, and actual classic Sorcery. The SFX are a little janky (late 60s), but the dialogue is good, and the characters are strong. Lee was an advocate of Wheatly's work and brought the novel to Hammer Films' attention. Again, a sequal might have been in the works, had the studio survived.
Honestly when you look at how people react to MCU stuff nowadays it feels like suddenly everyone went from wanting more contained, character-focused stories not connected to a larger interwoven storyline back during the Infinity Saga to now wanting things to be interwoven and connected to bigger things instead of them finally taking these chances to tell those contained, character-focused stories people originally wanted. Things right now actually do feel like a comic universe you'd read trades for. You have larger events. Smaller happenings. Some may not be for you, some may be. Some things connect. Some don't. I honestly love that they're taking chances now.
The thing with Secret Invasion is that it was something that was done to shake things up and flip the Marvel Universe on its head. Which if you dont want things to change and half the cast to turn out to be a replacement... it hurts the characters you cared about by rewriting everything you liked.
The thing that makes me wonder, honestly, is after the Hawkeye series, I would have assumed Yelena would not want anything to do with Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and/or Yelena would at least want to confront her about Clint.
Werewolf By Night was a member of the Midnight Sons and formed The Legion of Monsters with Morbius, Man-Thing and the Mummy dude. They had team-ups with Dr. Strange and Red Hulk but aren't really that popular. The Midnight Sons team might include him and Blade with Wong but they're missing Ghost Rider and Morbius. There is an hilarious crossover with Deadpool where Deadpool tries to kill Jack (Werewolf is Jack Russel) by blowing his head off with a blunderbuss after catching him sleeping with his wife. Jack has a better healing factor, his head grew back.
Adam: "As someone who tried to reach him earlier today and couldn't. All forms of communication were cut off." Me: "A communications disruption can mean only one thing... invasion."
Jay: “I hid fish in your apartment.” Me: “Ok, you grumpy old man!” (5 minutes later) Jay: “I’m surly and grumpy NOW!” Me: “Told ya so!” What am I most excited for? .......... BUCKYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine him being ‘the voice of reason’ in that group! Ahhhh? AhhhhhhhHHHHH? Do you see it? I hope that’s the case. Bucky, above all others, deserves happiness and peace. They had better do him right!!!! Much love, Peaches 🍑🍑🍑💙💙💙
Secret Invasion looks like a blend of Cold War mole hunt, with a bit of Winter SOldier/Hydra elements and a bit of Jason Bourne. I love it. I think it will have only limited relevance on the MCU as a whole, but I think it could be something amazing to watch.
Definitely think there's hope for the Thunderbolts movie. Most of the characters are well-established or we love em but I'm kinda praying Taskmaster & Ghost steal the show by being given actual characters to play. I think by being on this team, Taskmaster could transform into the character we all know. She could definitely turn into a snarky/copying your every move antagonist by the end of the film thereby giving even more opportunities to return in the future. Hopefully fucks w/Spider-Man & Daredevil down the line xD
My bet (or at least what I hope) is that werewolf by night is gonna be around one hour long, since most of the universal monsters movies it's paying homage to are around 70 minutes. Also, it's the perfect length for a special feature.
I'm soo excited for Werewolf by Night and Not only are we getting Werewolf in the MCU but it looks like we're also gonna get Man-Thing (14:12) in this as well and I can't wait
The fact that not a single Hulk like character was announced for Thunderbolts leads me to believe that they may be going in a "Agents of S.M.A.S.H. meets World War Hulk" kinda route. Wasn't too stoked on the character choices overall, but at least the actors (maybe) have a shot of carrying the movie.
Its kinda sad even though im only 22, ive loved the Indiana Jones franchise for all my life (minus Indiana Jones 4), and it hurt to hear Jay and Adam refer to, THE SHORT-ROUND, as "the husband from Everything Everywhere All At Once". Loved him in that movie too and am really happy he's getting the recognition he deserves but come on, y'all had to have recognized he's Short-Round!
"Werewolf by Night" reminds me of Wandavision in its presentation. They both have a "throwback to the 1960's" feel. I am wondering if they are doing the same thing, resolution wise, whereby the whole thing is an illusion of some kind.
So apparently werewolf by night is a movie but it has done important characters. Elsa bloodstone is in it and man thing might be in it. But I'm super excited for it because it looks great and the type of horror movies on I grew up with.
Agree on why was Bucky being add on to the team. He basically fought against American Agent. And the biggest bummer is Baron Zemo exclusion. But I do hope there is some plot twist to this Thunderbolt team. Maybe Zemo will come in late seeing this team is weak in strategy and leadership. Or maybe something else.
I personally think Bucky in thunderbolts will be a spy and reports back to Sam, and he will know who Yelena is and bring her back as the good guy if that makes sense. I think he will pretend to be the “bad guy” but really isn’t
I was hoping for Moon Knight in Werewolf by Night (as MK was first introduced in a WbN comic) but this looks less likely. But I wasn't SUPER excited for Secret Invasion, but I am decently hype now. I do wish Abomination was in Thunderbolts and maybe he will be an addition late, but I'm stoked for the team even if I don't get why Bucky is the lead when he's supposed to be helping out Cap still? Maybe he needed to branch off and do his own thing despite their new friendship. That said, I'm more interested in the trailers we DIDN'T see from the panel: The Marvels, Loki s2, and Wakanda Forever. Also while I feel the Mando s3 trailer was so-so, Tales of the Jedi took the cake for this d23.
Thunderbolts cast makes me feel the movie will be closer to Dirty Dozen or Expendables. A group of morally grey soldiers and spies as opposed to just straight up villains
Which sounds terrible. Sorry. The Thunderbolts should be out-and-out villains taking advantage of the lack of an Avengers team in the world by masquerading as heroes.
Agreed. But I also feel like he's stuck in the stage where most fans who are claiming how bad Phase 4 has been are which is," But how does this affect the Avengers, the Multiverse, Kang, F4, etc?" Him saying he only cares how it affects the characters is completely the opposite of what superhero projects are about. It's always about how the heroes can prevent a worldwide disaster/threat. So its about how the story affects the world, not the specific characters as the core of any superhero project.
I was only familiar with Werewolf By Night because it's the comic where Moon Knight was first introduced but apart from that I know nothing about the character. However I love what we're getting in this trailer and I hope they can maintain this tone because that'll be a unique looking Marvel property and hopefully a sign of things to come if they take some more chances with style, tone and format.
Yellowjacket would have been a better callback from Ant-man. Someone wearing the Iron Patriot armor...Bullseye from the Netflix universe fighting Hawkeye would be pretty amazing. Elena and U.S. Agent make sense. It would be a great chance to bring in Deadpool or Wolverine. Possibly Hercules? And while someone needs to fill the role of General Ross, I think they should skip making that character the Red Hulk and bring back Betty Ross from the Phase 1 Hulk movies, having somehow been mutated along the way.
Hannah John-Kamen, or Ghost, has been racking up appearances, including lead, ever since Ant-Man. She ain't hurtin for stardom. Also...I love her character. Maybe bc I've got lupus and am in chronic, intractable pain that is never relieved. Her character hit my heart hard. Also, she was fricking awesome and serves as a perfect antagonist rather than baddie. Okay, imma gently push away this soapbox because it hurts too much to kick it. That's a joke. 😁
Bucky would go near this to watch Agent, he’s murdered someone and Bucky is going to make sure he does not do it again. Were Wolf by night was a different person (Jonah Jameson’s son) but now he is a Native/Mexican man who inherited a curse. The character used to be a member of Nick Fury’s Howling Commandoes, you actually see Man-Thing, another member, in the background of a shot in the clip. I’m hoping this is moving towards a Howling Commandoes show and I also want a Midnight Sons show with Ghostrider, Blade, Damian Helstrom, Elsa Bloodstone, Morbius and Doctor Strange
I have to agree with Jay, the Thunderbolts lineup doesn't really enthuse me. I mean the main reason to bring a team together is because each member brings something different to the team. On this team however, outside of Ghost, you pretty much have five characters with the exact same skill sets. Don't get me wrong I can see where they could make an good movie with that team, it's just not really the type of movie I was expecting to be tied to the Thunderbolts name.
i agree with jay about the thunderbolts lineup not really giving me thunderbolts energy. Especially with zemo not being in it since he’s literally the front runner for thunderbolts. Same with punisher, bullseye, even deadpool, etc. The thunderbolts movie will have to prove itself.
i'm guessing zemo may be the villain which makes a lot more sense with bucky being on the team and not showing him in the 'hero' (lol) lineup and set it up for him eventually joining thunderbolts after being defeated idk plus, i don't doubt they are probably going to go with bucky and yelena pairing since black widow isn't in the mcu anymore, they have a lot in common
@@nightfrost1891 they better not have yelena and bucky a pair. yelena is asexual & aromantic meaning she has romantic / sexual attraction towards anyone.
I think Abomination will be a part of the Thunderbolts but they didn't announce it because She Hulk hasn't finished yet. He shares the same thing that all this Thunderbolt's team have in common. They are the way they are because of what was done to them not because they are evil. Bucky was brain washed, Taskmaster was mind controlled. Ghost was an experiment gone wrong. Yelena was trained as a child. Red Guardian is just Russian Cap America and US Agent's willingness to kill to protect his country was enhanced by the super soldier serum. Abomination shares the same fate, he is the result of a bad batch of super soldier serum. This isn't a team of villains it's a team of antagonists.
The way I see Bucky fitting into Thunderbolts is as their version of the "villain". The Thunderbolts need an adversary against them and what better adversary than a former mercenary/trained killer thats transforming into a more ethical hero. I think Bucky will need to go up against the Thunderbolts and realize either halfway or at the end of the series that their too much for him to handle alone, setting up Bucky to round up the more ethical heroes in the MCU to team up against the Thunderbolts.
Fighting against the Thunderbolts seems pointless given most members of this team aren’t really even that bad or any more or less ethical than most of the marvel heroes themselves. Bucky can easily fit in with the team for various reasons beyond just being their villain.
Why the squint for ghost on the thunderbolts? That’s honestly my most excited addition instead of Yelena. Ghost is also somebody who has been on the team in the comics.
the thunderbolts lineup feels more like a blackwidow 2 with a potential of finally putting together black widow and winter soldier (even tho its the wrong widow) but im sure the fans would eat up sebastian stan and florence pugh together as characters.
Olga Kurylenko is confirmed to be back as Antonia Dreykov aka Taskmaster so they aren't gonna recast but since she is free she can become a more interesting and nuanced character. I have full faith in if Olga gets a good script she will kill it since she is an amazing actress and can fight!
She's finally free to be her own person now, which at this point in her life could easily manifest as the enigmatic and slightly psychotic personality we all love. I could also see her dropping her last name out of spite and adopting 'Masters' as a reference to her old designation - (An)Tonia Masters.
Yes, Werewolf by Night is a one-off for Halloween night only. I believe the rumors are true that they ARE working on a Midnight Sons series for Phase 6, following the Blade film and Agatha Harkness series. Feige COMPLETELY AVOIDED filling out the Phase 6 schedule of dates we know exist for *something* after the Comic-Con presentation.
For Doctor Strange 3, what they should do is make it a Multiverse movie that sets up Secret Wars while Ant-Man 3 and Loki Season 2 and 3 sets up the Kang Dynasty. And for Blade, they should set up the Midnight Sons for his Trilogy of movies to highlight the team he is forming. This is just my opinion but who knows🤷♂️ a Midnight Sons series would be awesome
I feel like for phase 6 we’re going to have some sort of project dealing with mutants, we’re going to have midnight sons and A ghost Rider movie or so and I also think they’re going to throw in a Spider-Man movie that’s what I personally think there gonna do
@@SlimKim3 After saying much the same at New Rockstars, someone said that maybe they want to leave announcements for thenesxt TWO Comic-Cons and D23s... And the others were like, "Oh, yeah!" But it was definitely disappointing they didn't tell us the cast of Fantastic Four, but again, that could be saved for next year.
Ghost is actually one of my favorite mcu antagonists, at least for the one off ones. I loved her performance and backstory and Hannah John kamen deserved to be in more stuff for marvel. I can’t wait to see how they further her story especially since canonically her father is egghead
And werewolf by night is such a cool comic character and them using a universal monster movie of the 30s and 40s as direct inspiration is amazing! It comes out so soon but it’s probably my most anticipated solo outing in a while
I really liked her too! To be honest, she was just a dying girl and wanted to live. She got pulled back to the good guys side and pretty much has left people alone. I like to imagine she just went to college afterwards, lol.
Personally, I feel like the MCU's 'spy thriller' movies have been the best, at least for me so I'm really looking forward to it. Also, I'm going to be playing a game of eye-spy with every episode looking for Teddy Altman cause I need some Hulkling in my life.
I’ve said this before but… Thunderbolts should have been introduced after infinity war. Most of the heroes were dead, the world was in chaos, perfect opportunity for the Thunderbolts to step in. It would have used a slight twist to their original introduction to the comics.
