Season 6 was great but I feel snubbed with only 6 episodes. And the story must go on! Well now I have no excuse not to read the books. Already finished with Leviathan Wakes. The Expanse deserves way more credit and the cast is simply awesome.

Ty Franck looks like if Jordan Peterson started a band instead of going to college. Also, I love The Expanse and recommend everyone check it out. One of the best series of sci-fi books and shows of the past decade.

About the game - you need to get Ken Levine to head an FPS RPG project based on Unreal engine, similar to his work on the masterpieces in the Bioshock series. Bioshock 2 wasn't developed by him and it absolutely shows. He did Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite. I remember how the idea for Bioshock Infinite came. They were thinking of a sequel and drew on a paper waves and buildings under the waves, thinking what's next. Then crossed that, drew clouds above the waves and drew a city above the clouds! Before Bioshock, the team developed System Shock which is scifi revolving around rogue AI. Now The Expanse just feels like the next logical step for this master of gaming craft and I can't imagine what the atmosphere in the game would be like, if created by Ken Levine and working with Ty on all little details. I am a fan of the show and hope Amazon, Netflix, HBO etc. will do 3 more seasons. It might make actually more sense if another platform picks it up, as this would mean purchasing broadcast rights for seasons 1 to 6 as well, which would bring the new platform's audience to a new top-rated show - one that they previously didn't have access to unless they had subscription for both Prime Video and the other platform. And Amazon would get a nice lump of money, so win-win. It would be massively more cost-efficient for the new seasons to not get delayed much, as all props need storage and all the crew needs to be reserved by binding contracts. So I hope for the best. PS: Wes, Ty, I'm number 9. You know what that means! :D

To me, Amos is very much like an onion, layers, tons of layers. As you peel back the layers you reveal the tenderness and the tears begin, on the outside and the initial impression is that he is a badass, which he is. However, on the inside under the layers is where the tenderness (thinking about Peaches) begins to appear only to be washed away with tears and another badass appears, and time continues... and Amos evolves.

Amazing show! The expanse world is so rich they could keep it going forever.

Hey Netflix! You want a quick, easy, ready-made show with a built-in loyal fanbase, that's good to go with some of the best actors around working - and for probably a fraction of the budget you spend on stuff like Red Notice or Extraction? Netflix : "Hey Amazon! You gonna finish that? No? Don't mind if I do."

The realism Wes Chatham brought to the physical confrontations goes such a long way for maintaining the suspension of disbelief

1 more season c'mon!!!! SO much story left to tell and the cast and acting is superb!

I see the screen with soldier's lifesign readings, immediately think of Aliens, then I see in B Team Hudson, Hicks, Vasquez, and Ripley readouts look to the end of C Team and see W Riker and I started laughing as more names popped up and laughing still Amos was already in is ejection chair as one of the dwindling 'lifeforms'. Temptation was too great. Had to stop, go back and look at the rest of the names even with the railgun battle underway. Wasn't an Easter Egg, it was a crate of Easter eggs from Ty Franck!

Some takeaways for me I hadn't heard before: They never had a wrap party for season 6 due to Covid restrictions. How after each season before this when filming was shutdown, editing finished, it was just Ty and Naren left taking a week together to plot out the next season. The Riddle of Steel Quote:

The Expanse universe itself would be awesome setting for all type of games. RPG, narrative FPS are the obvious. So would a strategy or 4 X game. Heck, there is definitely opportunity for these guys to license the setting out for full games or just DLC. eg. I would pay for a BF assault on Ring Station map. Some of the vehicles behave like they are in space already (ok, low blow. I am ashamed) :D

I tend to agree with Ty about text crawls. Blade Runner didn't need the text at the beginning.

There already is The Expanse RPG published by Green Ronin using the Modern AGE rules. Full circle as the original spark for the books was a campaign setting for an RPG and the main characters of that play through were the basis for the main characters of the novels and later the TV show. Not sure how'd I feel about a video game (RPG or otherwise). So easy to spend a lot of cash and make a epic fail. Just ask CD PROJEKT RED.

I've had friendly jousts with fans in YT comment sections who insist on diagnosing Amos as having mental problems. Maybe it's just me, but one person's diagnosis of mental problems in others is nothing more than saying "I don't like how he lives, it can't be the result of conscious and rational thought, so it must be mental deficiency". To the contrary, if you grow up surrounded by extreme violence as the primary method for solving inter-personal conflict, and you see that it works, you adopt violence as a viable strategy for problem-solving, and it's not a "mental problem" when you do so. It's the result of rational thought. I will admit that it can be a problem to society in general, but it's not a mental problem for the individual. If he is stuck in a highly civilized society, he may struggle a bit with the new environment, but even that struggle will be rationally conducted, because he has no mental problems to impede him. Amos proved to be the most mentally healthy member of the Roci crew when standing in the lobby of the Blue Falcon. He looked closely for the start of any violence, could see it building, and was prepared to act immediately when it began. That was the epitome of mental and emotional health for that particular situation.

I was surprised ep.6 was the series finale. Now i wonder if the whole laconia storyline wasn't a teaser for a future series but just a low-cost filler to make ends meet on a production that cornered itself into a long series of large scale action scenes. Either way i hope they come back with another production on this genre because this was something unique and it will be missed.

So it's really that no one would fund another 3 seasons? None of them seem to be expressing any dissatisfaction with it ending at book 6. Have they had enough? Do they want to work on other things? Elsewhere Chatham says that Franck would have to get new actors if he ever wanted to continue. The last three books are the best of the series. The ending is fantastic. I'd really like to see that made.

The Expanse was a good series, but if they decide to go the MMO video game route, for god sake don't have a development culture that was horrendously bad that was displayed in the Telltale business model of creating content. If you want to risk having game fanatics as well as all sorts of Nerds hating you for making a video game with forced labor and a culture that treats their employees badly, then go right ahead. The result isn't going to spread goodwill for any of your entertainment projects in the future.

With the amount of Drivel on our TV's these days why is such a brilliant program being shelved.

It's not the best art if you have completed endings. Good art should endure, if you give fans complete closure it's violence to their capacity to imagination. I think _The Expanse_ is good art. Don't spoil it with total closure. Encourage people to read books, it is better for stimulating the imagination and brain synapses. Having said that, why not do a series for the next trilogy. If it opens up new futures at the end without closure you can still say it is great art and be proud of the work. Some of the most enjoyable books I've read got spoiled by the ending and a lame Epilogue. Real life is not like that.

Ty so on the money about text crawl. These days trailers and pre-hype ruin the surprises, but think back to _The Matrix._ No text crawl needed, just "What is the Matrix?" There is a little known hard scifi film _Primer_ that also works without any explanation, that'd make a studio exec lose sleep.

The show runners were too busy creating a certain narrative to be bothered with ending an amazing show properly. It's an absolute shame.
