How are these darn wayside horns any quieter than an actual air horn? And plus they don't indicate which way the train is coming from due to the lack of the doppler effect.

traingeekgraham, here's something VERY wrong. When a school bus driver crosses that crossing or any with fake horns, they rely heavily on the fake train horn, odd.

It was invented in the 1800s. Do you know math? No, because you forget that the train was invented long before you even existed. What upsets me EVEN MORE is that this is local to my area. Give us railfanners a chance! Please! Also, I'm surprised that these "Wayside horns" (Electronic CRAP) doesn't bother them, either. It's loud when you're up close, so what about the people who live next to the tracks? GOVERNMENT OF USA: STOP QUIET ZONES!!!
