He is my favorite center mid in the premier league to watch. Grant it, I'm a Norwich fan but he plays so simple and fights for every ball. Every pass is so precise. Too many people look past him.
I remember watching him on RTE playing league of Ireland a number of years ago, and I said to my day...What the hell is he doing on that field, he's far too good to be playing there!! Great all round attributes, Wes has it all Guys!!
Aye. Remember the home game against Deportivo in the CL in 2004? He played their midfield off the park that day, they couldn't get near him. Can't believe Shels didn't win that day and I'm stunned it took Hoolahan until this season to play in the Premier League.
A great creative player, look how many times he has a look up with ball at feet (rare skill). Well constructed work on the video, well done to you! Great character shown by Hoolahan to come through so strongly after opinion on him was a lttle mixed in those dark early days. Who would have believed that right now? Borderline club legend already or has he already made it? What do you say NCFC fans?

McClean was giving 10 minutes in a friendly v the Czechs out of pressure from the public. He then went on to say that he's going to reward the players who got him to euro 2012 so McClean, Hoolahan or anyone else won't have a chance. McCarthy never plays, he was giving 3 minutes in a qualifier just to make sure he could never play for Scotland. Hoolahan I think, had a falling out or something when the team first met up with Trapatonni in Portugal, and he holds grudges.
Our manager (Trapatonni) doesn't like technical players. He likes 2 players to sit in front of the defence at all times. We get passed to death by teams who play 4-5-1. Even Armenia can make us look ordinary. He's also planning to ignore an exciting winger for Sunderland James McClean, its frustrating but it gets us results against bad teams. When we played Russia we got ripped apart, when we play Spain & Croatia at the Euros it'll be similar. Pack the midfield v us and you win.

glen whelan and keith andrews are really good players... and hoolahans role is much more attacking then theirs, hoolahan plays an attacking midfielder, even winger... like the man said it above me, but i still dont get it why he isnt called up, hes an awesome player, he could make room for him ps. both mcclean and mccarthy are on the team
OK, I'm Spanish, but I truly respect Irish people, and I decided to create a FIFA Ultimate Team, and I didn't know if I wanted to simply recreate the national team or use all types of Irish players, international or not. Can someone tell me why Hoolahan or Best are not even reserves? I'm not trolling, maybe Best is not doing great right now, but you know...he did well and he still is a PL player. And Hoolahan? Why use Andrews (a Championship player?) and Whelan (Stoke...'nuff said).
